I feel my time is up re: disboards

I hear that the Disneyland board is much friendlier than the disneyworld board. But us aussies are even friendlier still. Don't leave us.

I frequent the disneyland boards and I've never encountered a problem. Everyone nice, friendly and helpful. Just like the ANZAC boards

I began to wonder if you we're all referring to WDW boards?

It is so nice to come to the aussie board and catch up with all relaxed people.

and sometimes we share aussie specific stuff - I have been here a few years now, but it was here I originally learnt about mobile phones, DVC points, Air New Zealand is the kissy kissy xxoo and ..... yes .... frankly .... you people do pack some weird stuff!!

There are other sites which make fun of the DIS board - they can be entertaining if you need a vent or some snark. and I have learnt to only dip into the budget board or the community page when I am really bored/depressed and need to remind myself of a different world.

although some of the germophobes have enlightened me and i will never look at a bedspread the same way again.

I really love watching you all come together and plan your trips and make the most of your family time. I feel the Aussies have good intent and care ... and more than just the Melbourne meet up crowd!

Your TRs and luggage pics will certainly be missed Karen.

But I understand that sometimes we reach a point where things that once were fun just start to irritate us. At that point a break is nice. I got that way with another forum I once contributed to.

I must be the odd one out as I've found people on the main boards to mostly be polite and friendly. Much friendlier than other forums I've frequented. There is always the odd one out, but I figure the issues are there's, not mine. Admittedly I do get drawn into the occasional debate, but as long as it doesn't become unnecessarily personal, a debate can be a bit of fun.

Enjoy your holiday Karen and I hope you pop in to visit us once in a while.

Jacs1234, sideline: how's the planning going?

It feels so rushed and busy. I feel like I'm constantly thinking Disney (not that it's a bad thing) lol We are surprising the kids again so now they are suspicious of that cute new mickey mouse suitcase I bought before the decision was made and I also ordered disney trivial pursuit before we decided to go and they're even more suspicious. lol

We;ve changed our accomodation at least 4 times already in the last week and I'm going to try to change my flights to one day ahead so I can see a normal parade instead of the christmas one. I'm on hold to The Grand right now trying to upgrade our room to a view. Another accomodation change.

Do you regret asking me now? lol I need to start a new thread.

Totally agree. The DL board doesn't seem to have the same style of people as some of the other boards. It's much more mellow like the ANZAC board.

What used to be a venue for exchanging ideas and hints/tips..its now these under worked, over entitled crazy women who have an opinion on everything.

I am so tempted to tell some of these posters they need medication or to get a life.

Love the Anzac board, but its the main board that is completely bonkers.

So I am hanging up my keyboard and walking away before these idiots drive me as crazy as they are.

I have only been on here a short time but your hints and tips have been very helpful, and I absolutely loved your trip reports and sense of humour
I agree some people have to have an opinion on everything and unfortunately come across so mean.

There are many great and useful things on the DisBoards that have really helped vacationers save lots of dough at the Disney parks. I'm not certain where the "mean" people are coming from either and I still don't get why folks are starting threads about A-Rod, Arias, etc. etc. I too get discouraged but just step away for a few days and reconnect.

There is still good out there and much to learn about the Disney parks and much you can teach and share with others.

I honestly think giving boards a break can be a good thing from time to time.

General fan boards can spoil your interest with all the arguing and 'catastrophising'. I think a break can give us time to really enjoy our interests.

I know for me, I've not been on the Doctor Who boards for ages after the huge issue which was the the size of the new TARDIS windows....

I tend to jump into the American boards to ask a question and quickly get out. There's a huge sense of entitlement there in the WDW section and it tends to spoil my enjoyment.

I don't ask questions over on the main part of the board any more, I find it easier to search for old posts asking the same thing, that way all the abuse is directed at the OP

The less "mainstream" boards are usually the most friendly. However I frequent all food porn and pictures of the day threads wherever they are

Just stay with the warm and fuzzy, crazy nuts here Karen-the ANZAC boards won't be the same without you...and yes after a vicious incident where I got burned for trying to be helpful after our 2008 trip I didn't come back to the Dis for quite a while until I discovered this friendly group.
