I Feel Like Giving up

Think of it this way. Some of the characters that are there now will eventually be gone and will then be rare characters. Have you met the Zootopia characters yet? They will likely be swapped with other Pixar characters when their next movie comes out. And the classic characters will stop wearing their 60th outfits in less than a month and we'll never see them in those again, so you could get pics with those.

As a matter of fact, I did met the characters from Zootopia.

We saw Brer Fox when we were exiting Splash a couple of years ago. I think it was 2 years ago but it could have been 4.

I don't know if it's possible for you but the Hilton at Disney Springs in Orlando has a character breakfast every Sunday. The usual line up is Minnie, Pluto, Br'er Fox and Br'er Bear.

Disney just announced another AP Days promotion starting Sept 6th. If not rare characters there will at lease be some AP exclusive meet opportunities. My guess is it will be villains and Halloween outfits like they used to have at BTR.

Release I saw said Skeleton Goofy and Halloween Donald.

Wait, you mean the Halloween characters and villains that used to be out in DL for everyone are now going to be just for AP holders at DCA?

It just mentioned Donald and Goofy wearing those costumes ... this is my first time as a DL AP holder, so I'm not really familiar with AP Days. Just going off what the release said. :confused3

They both appeared in Town Square in those costumes last year. I wonder if they will be in both parks.

This is all I know:

Part 1, taking place Sept 6-18 will be themed to Halloweentime and will include:

  • AP Days Showcase – Stage 12 in Hollywoodland
    • Character Meet & Greet inside Stage 12 with Wizard Donald and Skeleton Goofy
    • A Showcase of Halloweentime décor from Horticulture, Resort Enhancement, and Food & Beverage (weekends)
    • A showcase of up and coming content for the Resort (Guardians, Main Street Electrical Parade, Food & Wine, and More to be Announced)
    • Information Center for amenity distribution, AP Days questions
    • Activity tables with coloring sheets
    • Complimentary water
  • AP Days Welcome Center -Paradise Gardens Gazebo
    • Vacation Planning Ticketing Cart for renewals/activations
    • AP-branded photo-op
    • Button distribution
    • Social Media presence to promote @DisneylandAP and Pin Trading

The official Disney Parks Posting didn't mention which characters, but other sites (Chip & Co, WDWNT, etc.) are reporting that Wizard Donald and Skeleton Goofy will be part of AP Days from September 6-18; then after the 18th, it switches to Pocahontas & Meeko and Liberty Square Minnie. So it doesn't mean that Wizard Donald and/or Skeleton Goofy won't be out in Town Square after they finish up at AP days or perhaps it means they'll be out in a different costume for HalloweenTime this year (Donald also had a pumpkin outfit in the past and Goofy had a Halloween suit).

In previous years the characters in Halloween costumes were in BTR and in town square they wore their regular outfits. Prior to that they were only in their Halloween costumes at the parties themselves and not during regular hours. I'm speculating that with the loss of BTR they would find somewhere else to put the Halloween costumes. Having the rare characters at Stage 17 ended up with people waiting 3-4 hours just to get in the 2 hour line which was constantly closed. I think they'd try to avoid that by having something in between, like common characters in different outfits.

Oh come on Disneyland! You do better than that! I miss Big Thunder Ranch Jamboree!:sad2:

No It isn't possible for me to go there. Sorry. Good try, though.

Or maybe they could have them out more often so they weren't as rare and hard to see?

I'm so glad I'm not doing Halloween this year. With my daughter in high school, our times to travel are very limited and we cannot be AP holders. I would be very ticked off if they were only available in these costumes for AP holders.

I think Disneyland doesn't care about rare characters anymore since Big Thunder Ranch Jamboree is gone.:sad1:

I would take it back over SWL in a heartbeat.
