DD(4) is in Pre K through the district. She has a folder that we are to check every day. There is the usual colored smiling face for what color she was on for the day(she's always been green). There is the occassional announcement. And then there is the finished work sheets and projects.
Never has there been any homework. Never.
So I picked her up 15 minutes early yesterday so she could go with me to vote. Then we went to run some other errands before I leave on a trip next week. We got home about 6 and election coverage was on. We watched that and ate dinner. I was in bed by about 8:30 as was she.
I went to put her shoes in her backpack today. She had to take tennis shoes with her since she was wearing a dress with dress shoes and there was 9 pages of homework. What?
There has never been homework much less 9 pages. Granted it was only scissor practice. As in like 4 lines on each page to cut out. But did the teacher want this back today? Please tell me I am not a horrible parent. Please someone reassure me that it is okay and she can do it tonight. Why do I feel so guilty?

Mistakes happen and things come up, no biggie to me.
And if the teacher makes a 4 year old stand in the corner or stay in from recess for not turning in the cutting homework then you have bigger problems than not doing her cutting practice.
