I posted in another thread that we had to change our travel dates and now can't get an upgrade at the HRH with our Loews Platinum card. At first DH said that he wanted the HRH, but now says that he would consider the PBH or the RPR (upgrades are available at both hotels for our travel dates of April 24-29). We've only stayed at the HRH and this will be our first kid free trip-after surviving 7 year old twins and 3 years to get him to agree to this-I'm afraid to give another hotel a try since we know the hotel and grounds so well. I don't want to spend the whole time saying "I wish we would have booked the HRH". We like the atmosphere and the easy walk to the parks, but a little romance instead of a rock n roll theme would be nice. Do the other hotels have places to get a quick breakfast and how long does the boat ride from the parks to the PBH take? Is the PBH nicer than the HRH? How long is the walk from the RPR to the parks? I just want this trip to be perfect since I'll probably be a grandmother before I get DH to agree to another one!

WE had the same fear after staying at the HRH. We stayed at the RPR last summer and decided we liked it better than the HRH. The walk to the park was very easy. I was at City Walk in eight minutes. The Orchid Lounge in the lobby sells coffee, muffins, etc. for breakfast. There is a good breakfast buffet at Islands restaurant in the RPR. We found the pool at the RPR a lot more relaxing than the pool at the HRH.

You will LOVE the RPR. It is a beautiful resort with wonderful atmosphere, rooms and restaurants. The walk to the parks is very romantic!!!

I haven't stayed at Hard Rock, so I can't compare, but we satyed at Portofino last August. It was just BEAUTIFUL!! It was very romantic. It seemed like we were in a quaint little Italian village.

We went in the little pool at the end of the hotel (not the main one) and we were practically the only people there. There was another older couple and we had a nice chat. The rooms also were very beautiful and elegant.

I would definitely give Portofino a try. It would be great for a kid-free vacation. (I thought it was romantic and we even had the kids!)

Everytime I've stayed at the Portofino there has been a Wedding so i think the romance question is answered(:-) . Out of the three hotels the Portofino boat ride is the longest but not by enough to matter. It is my favorite of the Three also the largest but you will definately know you are on a vacation. Highly recommend a Deluxe room or Suite.

:flower: Hi seabiscuit,
Do you know if the PBH has shampoo and soaps in the rooms? I want to pack as light as possible. :wave2:
Thanks!
Lisa

Yes they do as a matter of fact we always ask for a few extra when checking out. Unlike the regular soap you might find in some hotels( still small but), it has a nice fragrance in the soap, shampoo and lotions similar to that you will find at the spa. Housekeeping will give you extra if you ask.
