I think it is what you think it is cause I think it to. So you know what you should do if you ever get a photo like this? You might be able to do something about it yourself (because something must surely be done), but if you don't feel up to the task you should probably consult a professional. Believe it or not, there are professionals who actually deal with this stuff.
But what you need to do is........go get your camera cleaned!
When I first looked at this on the mac in the bedroom last night I noticed more than I do here on the PC. On my mac with the different gamma there are faint orbs all over the sky.
I'm gonna guess you have some dust on your sensor, but I'm not a DSLR person, so I don't know. That would be the spots in the black areas I would think. It is cool that Tinkerbell was flying over your house at exactly the same time you took that photo though!
You need to get the Canon Mark III for better noise reduction?
Perhaps those aliens will have some sort of technology to share with you that you can patent and then sell to other companies making billions of dollars, if that happens, can you share with me just a few million
There's no way of knowing that you didn't mess with it, even full size. You just have to hope that people trust you. I think there are some cameras with RAW formats that might include some kind of digital signature "proving" that the RAW is untampered with, but I really don't know much about that.
As for the picture itself, It's some non-descript blob of light in the sky. It could be almost anything.

note to self...next time there is a scroll bar on the bottom of the screen use it....all i saw the first time was what looks like a night shot taken with a lens cap on NOW it looks like a moth ?
The picture was taken with a Canon PnS (SD750), so there's no raw mode anyway. (That's also why there's as much noise as there is.) It also means no dust on the sensor. It's also 4x3 format and we know AKLForever doesn't use an Olympus DSLR, so he went to great lengths to hack up the photo, it's definitely not from his DSLR.
