DS (Tyson)- Our 26 month old son who loves Disney World. He is now obsessed with the Monorail which is what lead me to name the TR title. I can't wait to tell you that story. LOL

We stayed at AKL from May 9 to the 16 with park hoppers. As soon as I get pictures loaded I'll post them. I took about 500 on my camera and at least 100 on photopass.

Yay! You're off to a great start!

It was great to meet you, Brad and Tyson. He's such a cutie! Emily loved making new friends.

I haven't started my TR yet, I'm too exhausted! I need a vacation from my vacation! I uploaded all of our pictures today! I had over 1000 on our 2 cameras a bunch on our cell phones and about 200 on photopass!

Can't wait to hear more!

I'm here!

Yay! Hey girl! I'll start posting soon. I'm just so tired!

It was so nice to meet all of you too. You all are so nice! I wish we could have rode everest. We never made it back. LOL AK is now our least favorite park. It's just too hot there. LOL

Wow I can't wait to see all of your pics. I did a horrible job this time with pics. They are mostly close ups of Tyson and Brad. LOL I think I was so busy trying to deal with Tyson that I forgot to enjoy the trip. I'm looking forward to going back with my mom. She's going with us in Dec. and it will be so great to hand Tyson over when he's having a breakdown.

I know what you mean about being tired. I'm exhausted. I have blisters all over my feet and I'm sunburned. LOL All I want to do is sleep for a few days.

I've go to catch up with everyone's TRs!!

I'm here....I'm here. Can't wait to see how your trip went since we hardly ever got to talk!!!

hey, i just found your trip report! I'm excited to hear about your experiences at AKL, I'm staying there in July...subbing :goodvibes

It's okay to be tired! WDW can be exhausting!

Yeah it was! I think that 8 days was great but with a toddler it was a bit much for me. I would love maybe 5 days at Disney with a down day and then maybe 3 days in Daytona Beach! That is the ultimate vacation.

I'm here....I'm here. Can't wait to see how your trip went since we hardly ever got to talk!!!

Yay! I'm starting the report today!

Im here- want to see how you did your days with a little one

Awesome! Glad you are joining in. It was hard but I think he had a good time!

I'm here!!! I can't wait to read ALL about everything! :woohoo:

Hey girl! I'm glad your here. I think the TR is going to be pretty funny.

Signing on. Can't wait to hear how the trip went.

Hey! Glad you're joining in. It was a fun trip. I'm excited to share.

I'm here too... I want to hear ALL about it.

Hey!! I'm so glad you're still Dising. Thanks for coming over!

OH you are going to have a blast! It's my favorite resort. However, we will be staying at the Contemporary on our next big trip next May. The monorail is worth it and their CS is too die for! OH MY GOD THE CUPCAKES! I miss it. I can't wait to show that massive mound of yumminess!

Count me in! Looking foward to more.

We are staying at the BLT on our trip in Sept. Dealing with buses and our little girl on the last trip was awful. Now we have another little girl who will be the same age on our trip. DH said no way to buses! So monorail resort it is. When the kids get older and become better listeners and can sit still for more than 2 seconds...we will stay moderate or value. But for sanity sakes...toddlers and buses don't mix.

Well I want to know all about your trip :) I wouldn't miss this one.

May 8 My brother's graduation and last minute packing

As some of you know, my brother graduated from college on the day before we arrived at Disney. The reason I am adding this to my TR is because I left at 2 am the next morning so it feels like it was all part of the day we left for Disney since I only slept for 1 hour that night.

His graduation was at 10 am so Brad decided to stay home and let Tyson sleep. I went to the graduation with my mom, dad, and grandmama. It was long but the speaker was good. All I could do is keep turning to my mom and say this time tomorrow I will be sitting on the balcony watching zebras. Well, at least that was my hope. I had my timing off a little bit.

Here's a pic of the new graduate

So afterwards we decided to go to lunch at Wild Wing Cafe. Brad and Tyson met us there. Turns out Brad took Tyson to Publix to get some diet cokes and Tyson got a free sugar cookie. I rode with my brother from the graduation to the restaurant.

HPIM2975.jpg

Wild Wing is ok. I chose it but it turned out being really greasy. It all depends on what you order.

We finished eating and took my grandma to our house to get her car. She would be watching Tyson while we finished packing and loading the car. We got Tyson a bag ready for her house and headed over there. After dropping him off we went to Walmart to buy more last minute stuff, which I now can't even remember what we got. Brad bought a five dollar movie and watched it all afternoon instead of sleeping for a while. He was suppose to sleep while I packed. Well, he finally went to bed and I finished getting all the bags together. I let him sleep an hour and a half then woke him up to help me pack the car. After that we left to get Tyson, but I was hungry so we stopped at McDonald's for some chicken nuggets and fries. I thought I would be fine eating it since my stomach never hurts after eating it but I was wrong. I felt kind of bad the rest of the night. I guess I shouldn't eat McDonald's at 9 at night. So we picked up Tyson and went home. I got him to sleep around 11 pm after a bath. We bought him some Mickey Mouse Clubhouse PJs to travel in. I did a few more things and went to sleep. I slept for about an hour and woke up at 1 am. I went ahead and got ready.

May 9 Travel and Arrival at AKL

Mom wanted me to call her about 30 minutes before we left. So I called and she came downstairs to help me bring up the few things that I had to put in the car last minute like my computer, camcorder, diapers, etc.

SIDE NOTE: To those of you who did not follow my PTR, my DH, DS and I live in my parents basement apartment while I get my masters. This is the reason I am able to be a SAHM. When I finish and begin working, Brad will go to tech school and get his degree in radiology tech. We have a full kitchen, living room, bedroom, and one bathroom. Tyson sleeps with us but he just got his own bed so we're working on that. We love living here and get along great with my family. I look forward to our own house but feel grateful to have a family who can help.

I changed Tyson's diaper and tried to get him in the car without waking him but that didn't happen. He was excited and knew we were going to Disney World.

He grabbed his pillow and snuggled up ready to go.

HPIM2976.jpg

He lasted a few hours. We sang songs and even watched Wiggles on my laptop. Then my laptop died and all you know what broke loose. I have never heard him cry that hard. He was screaming for me to help him and he was trying to unbuckle his seatbelt. He was kicking and gagging. I kept throwing a towel under his chin in case he threw up. As some of you know, if Tyson gets really upset he throws up, kind of like the kids that hold their breath and pass out during a tantrum. He justs gags himself. I gave him some benadryl when he first started crying so he was sleepy but not giving up. Finally after what felt like an hour of screaming but was actually only 15 minutes, we reached the Florida line and that meant the welcome center was next. THANK GOD! So we parked and I fixed him bottle and gave him that. It satisfied him enough to get back in the car seat. DH and I took a potty break and then we went on our way. This was about 5:30 am. Tyson fell asleep about 20 minutes later.

We finally make it to the turnpike and stop to get gas.
This is what the car looked like...I was in the back with Tyson during the drive.

On the outskirts of Orlando we saw hot air balloons in the distance. We eventually saw them setting up on a side road. You can book a hot air balloon ride I guess because I saw a family with young kids about to get on and a banner was on the van to book a ride.

Our GPS took us a different way than we are use to. I was nervous but kept my mouth shut until I saw a exit sign for Disney......that Brad passes right by because the GPS told him to. If you have ever seen The Office it reminded me of the time Michael turns into the lake because the GPS said turn right so he just went right in the lake. The sign said Disney and he passed it. Then the GPS said to turn right and there was no exit we were still driving. Umm I guess someone should have updated the GPS. So we get off at the next exit and wind up on Osceola parkway when Tyson wakes up happy

I decided to strike a pose too

HPIM2989.jpg

We realize the GPS is taking us down the back roads to AKL...that's right....no welcome arch. Read that again NO WELCOME ARCH. Yeah that was bummer for both of us. I did catch a glimpse of a Disney bus with the new celebrate decorations.

We finally arrive at AKL around 9 am. And I see this:

The new guard house serving both Jambo and Kidani

Then the sign

Then a glimpse of the building

Next up: Check in. Will we get all of our requests? Will our room be ready?

Hey can you email me a photo of the AKL sign? I never got one in the bus!!! I wanted one for my scrapbook. Can't wait to keep reading.

I need to go plant the garden today...it is 91 here. We just broke the record for this time of year.

Sure I'll email it now. It's cooler down here today. I think it was in the upper 60's. It's storming in FL this week. I feel bad for Dana. I hope they are having fun!
