I don't want to ride the bus! I want to ride the Monorail! Update 6/29 Day 4

Sorry I've been MIA. Brad signed up for the gym and they took his blood pressure. It was 180/120!!!! OMG that's high. His mom and sis have high bp and they are stick skinny so it's genetic. He's got an appt. with my internist but his mom is freaking b/c he's not going to her cardiologist. He hasn't had a physical in years so I thought he should go to an internist first.

I just want him to be ok. I don't care where he goes as long as insurance covers it. What should I do?

I know his mom is just concerned like I am. But I mean he is her son so she wants him to go to the best.

Will he be ok until his friday appt?

I would say internist first as a cardiologist is a specialist, and many insurances won't cover specialist without a referral. Def to quote racefan if it was an automated get it checked by hand. You can go to any rescue squad and they can check it for you for free. Being on the local rescue squad we get calls, more often then most think, where ppl have gotten the automated and take their blood pressure and it says it's shy high and they panic, when it's not high at all, low even sometimes. Def make sure he drinks lots of water and stays away from salt and caffine. Good luck!

First of all, I'm glad things are going well for you and your diet! :thumbsup2 Secondly, I'm sorry about Brad. I'll pray for him. Look into things that can help with it. It might be some simple adjustments to your cooking, etc! :)

I feel so bad for Brad. Mine gets like that while I am pregnant and now they have me taking Aldomet until we decide we are done having babies. I hate it though because you always feel fine and then you go in and bam they say 190/110. Ugh! I know the machines and even doctors get such mixed reactions. NOW>>>They always have me go in the room and relax a few minutes before taking it and that seems to help. Good luck and hang in there! Keep us posted!

Hey everyone! Thanks for all the concern, thoughts, and prayers. I called the insurance company and we didn't need referral because it's the PPO category or something.

I was extra concerned because he pulls heavy pallot jacks from the backroom of grocery stores up to the aisles to put out the coca cola cases. He lifts heavy things all day.

He ended up getting an appt yesterday with the cardiologist. He didn't get to meet her but they took his bp and it was 150/100. They prescribed him meds and he's having a echocardiogram today. He will see my internist tomorrow for a full physical. I feel he should have went to the internist first but his mom pitched a fit for him to go to her dr. Whatever, he has meds and is going to a dr. so he'll hopefully be fine. I have to leave my relationship with MIL out of it because it's not about me it's about him. I have to remind myself sometimes when I get all wound up about her. LOL

He sees the cardiologist next Thursday.

May 10 Mother's Day!

We woke up late on Sunday because of the long night we had the day before. Little did we know that this would become the pattern for the week.

Brad decided that we should have a good breakfast so he went down to Mara to see what we should get. He also had to buy our refillable mugs! I got red and Brad got black. He was gone a long time and I started to wonder what was going on. It ends up that he went to the store first and bought me the Winnie the Pooh canvas bag that says "Is that you, Tigger?" and it has a real tiger on it. I love it so much. He came back with the food and then took the bag out and said Happy Mother's Day. I was so excited. After opening my cards and saying thank you he said to look inside the bag. My eyes got huge! What could be inside?

An Ipod Nano 4th generation!!! HOT PINK!! I love it. I decided to get internet access that day so I could had some videos for Tyson. I figured it could help us when he was super cranky. I swear it took forever to download and load onto it because I picked a long Wiggles video.

We settled down then to eat our breakfast. We found another thing to love about Disney! The humongous breakfast platter! We got this every morning from then on. Sometimes we used our CS points and sometimes paid. Oh and if you use CS points you get 2 drinks per point. So we had 4 diet cokes every morning. LOL

Tyson wanted cereal and my biscuit. That's what he had for breakfast each day all week. He spilled his cereal on the floor and guess what it made..

Mickey!
HPIM3070.jpg

LOL it just fell that way.

He decided to try a Mickey waffle. He didn't like it. Thank goodness because I fell in love with Mickey waffles. Another new love!!

HPIM3073.jpg

We finally left to go to AK! It was a warm day but beautiful. We get through the gate and a CM gives me a red carnation! Aww I love it! Tyson and I pose for a picture.

HPIM3074.jpg

He then asked for his sunglasses and I couldn't find them. I just had them and they were gone! Did we drop them? So Brad goes through the turnstiles and backtracks to try to find them. Well, a few seconds later, I realize I put them in the video camera bag! OOPS :rolleyes1 So I try to call him on the phone but he won't pick up. I decide to leave the park too to find him. He's no where to be found. He went back to the AK bus stop. So I got the photopass guy to take pics of me and Tyson! Of course! What else would I do? Actually try and go find Brad? Nah, he'll see us. LOL so I tell the guy that I'm waiting for my husband to come back this way. After the pics Brad walks up. The photographer says now do you want to have some pics with your husband? Yeah sure!!

We then go back into the park and head to Dinoland!! Our first ride is the little dino ride that's like Dumbo.

Next, I got to ride Dinosaur. It was scary!! I really thought it wouldn't be but it scared me to death. I loved it though. I'll ride it again.

Then we wanted to ride Everest. Well, it was broken down. It has become tradition now for this ride to breakdown when Brad gets in line. The tradition will continue later in the trip.

By then I wanted a snack. I used a snack point at the Yak and Yeti CS. The chicken fried rice is to die for! So good.

Tyson was tired and hot so we left to go back to AKL. We figured we would get to spend more time at AK later in the week.

Up next Epcot, dinner at Le Cellier and MK EMH.

I forgot to eat there. Too sad!

Funny...your room looks just like our room and we ate the same breakfast each morning, because we could share it with Austin.

I love the Mickey fan you have on Tyson's stroller, that's a really cool idea. Where did you find that?

Mmmm Disney World is the best place in the world for breakfast food.:lovestruc

What a great start to your Mother's Day!! I have actually never received a Mother's Day present from Mike. My 1st Mom's day present was the one Emily made in school this year. I know...can you believe it! Mike is the sweetest, most romantic guy, but he falls short when it comes to Mother's Day and he is reminded every year. Although, every Mother's Day I've had, we've been at Disney or just gotten back the day before so I guess I can't complain too much!

Can't wait to see what happens the rest of the day!

keeping y'all in my prayers. it is hard to bite the ole tongue sometimes though :scared1:.

Thanks! It is so hard for me to keep my mouth shut all the time! LOL but especially when it has to do with....HER!

You know she had the nerve to ask if she could come to Brad's cardiologist appt. and then she wanted to go in the room with him! Brad's sweet and said sure but if my mom comes with me to a dr. appt she doesn't come in the room too. LOL I know she's his mom and of course is really worried just like me. If Tyson was sick I would want to be with him but if he was grown up I just don't think I would ask to go to the dr. visit with him. I would hope that if he needed me he would ask. I should have been there with him but I had Tyson and didn't have a baby sitter. Mom was busy. :confused3 Oh well, I'm honestly over it now. I just don't get her sometimes, even when looking from a mom's perspective.

I forgot to eat there. Too sad!

It was good! Try it next time!

The breakfast was awesome! It was so big that really you could just get a snack later to tide you over until dinner. We had early dinners all week but next time we will make ADRs for around 7 because Tyson was hardly awake for any dinner that was planned ahead.

I love that fan too. We got it last year at one of the parks. I just don't remember which one. I'm almost positive it was MK. It sucks batteries though. It's dead within 3 hours of getting to the park.

I really want a Mickey Waffle right now! Thank goodness I can't get one because I'm trying to be good on the Nutrisystem diet. I've lost 10 lbs so far!!

We are actually hit and miss when it comes to Mother's Day and Father's Day. It just depends on if we know something that the other one wants. He knew I wanted one so bad but I had no clue he was getting it. I probably hadn't mentioned it in at least 2 months. I love it though. I've never had an Ipod before. He has the special edition U2 one or something. It's red and black. I'm horrible with father's day. He usually gets a shirt. This year he is getting a steamboat willie jim shore figurine and a the vinylmation pins he needs to finish the set. That's of course if we have the money. It's not much but nutrisystem is expensive. I'm wondering how it will affect our budget.

Yeah to getting a doctor's appointment and it being covered under the insurance (like that part would have mattered anyway). Boo, to the nosy mother-in-law. I have one that couldn't give two hoots about much until she decides she wants to become involved and then I could just kick her in the you-know-what. I will keep your family in my prayers. I know that most people would say it's strange to have complete strangers keeping you in their prayers but they just don't understand the DisBoards.;)

Now, back to the trip report. My son didn't like the Mickey waffles either. He said they were too thick and hard. But, my husband and I ate them for him.

Before Disney started making the Mickey fans, we found one (sans Mickey head) at a local drug store. I think it was Walgreens back in the day when our son (just turned 12) was still in a stroller. I took along lots of extra batteries. He was the envy of many. Like I said, that was before Disney caught on to the idea and started selling them.

I hope that you'll post your food pictures over on the Disney Food Pictures thread. I know that looking at pictures of the food helps me decide where and what to eat.

Heeey Girl! I don't know if you remember me or not, but I had joined along on your pre-trippie and was supposed to meet up with all of you ladies in AK! Unfortunately, life took a turn and we weren't able to make the trip, but I'm finally back on the boards and definitely joining along on your TRIP REPORT!

Did Tyson like the Dinosaur/Dumbo rides? He's such a cutie pie!

:sad2: on the MIL.

Tyson looks so sweet in your pix. It is so much fun to see Disney thru their eyes. Dallas was 14 months old the first time we went and he didn't really pay that much attention to things, but by the time he was 2 1/2-3 he started noticing more. Your mother's day gift is cool.

Love it so far. Were going to b taking our 15 month old soon so it is great hearing about Tyson (So Cute!!!!)

Yummy! That breakfast looks delish! :thumbsup2 We might have to try it a few times... Do you remember how much it is OOP? I love the picture of you and Tyson with you holding the carnation. So sweet. And how sweet of Brad to buy you a new Tigger bag to go with the iPod?! Sounds like a great start to a Happy Mother's Day!

How is Brad feeling? Has he made it to the Cardiologist yet? I hope y'all are well!!! I love using y'all in a sentence, it reminds me of my Mom! She was born and raised in Spring Hill, Tennessee!:rotfl:

Thanks for the prayers! We are going to see the cardiologist tomorrow. We'll see what she says.

The MIL is a pain and always will be. She called 2 nights ago at 9 pm to complain that she never sees Tyson. I felt like saying well if you weren't such a you know what I would put forth effort to get him over to see you. She's proven too many times that is is too ditzy and irresponsible to watch him alone. So we have to stay over and supervise, especially now that Tyson is opening doors. They leave their door unlocked until they go to bed so he could just walk right out. :confused3 UGH It's exhausting.

That fan really was great.

The waffles are just so good. The whole reason I liked them was because they were so thick.

I'll definitely post my food pictures after my TR was done.

Great report so far!!!

Can't wait for more!! :)

Thanks!!!

Hey girl!! Yes I remember you! We missed you. I'm so you were not able to make it in May but you'll have fun when you do get to go.

Tyson loved the dino and dumbo ride. I really didn't think he would but he surprised me. He just could not stand in long lines.

:sad2: on the MIL.

Aww thanks! He had fun at 14 months and only remember things because I showed him home movies but really that was the most magical trip. It really was. I hoped this one would live up to it or surpass it but it didn't. I enjoyed it but crowds really got me down and it was really hot. I'm looking forward to December. I think it will be better.

I love my Ipod. You can buy episodes of tv shows for $2 so I've been doing that with my faves.

Love it so far. Were going to b taking our 15 month old soon so it is great hearing about Tyson (So Cute!!!!)

Ya'll are going to have a great time. I'm glad you're joining my TR!

Definitely try the breakfast! Mmmmmmmm

It was $8 something. Brad can't remember exactly.

Thanks! It was a great mother's day.

Great report so far, Tyson is such a cutie, too bad we couldn't have spent more time together at AK!!!!

Thanks! I wish we could have spent more time together too!

How is Brad feeling? Has he made it to the Cardiologist yet? I hope y'all are well!!! I love using y'all in a sentence, it reminds me of my Mom! She was born and raised in Spring Hill, Tennessee!:rotfl:

Brad's ok. We see the dr tomorrow. The meds make him sleepy though so he's been taking them at night.

Ha Ha yeah I'm addicted to saying ya'll. It's sweet that it reminds you of your mom. :goodvibes
