Cape May Cafe Dinner
We arrived to Disney two days before our package started which means no plans yet. We were staying with my grandparents, parents, and younger sister at an offsite rental before checking into The Wilderness Lodge. This means we didn't have any ADRs. Grandma offered to cook, but honestly...I was a stone throw away from Disney, I wanted Disney food!
We thought of restaurants to eat at that are close to Hollywood Studios. Being from Maryland we all decided a seafood buffet would hit the spot!
So, I was able to score an ADR for 7 at 7:30 the night before! (And good times for FP+ so winging it CAN be done if you decide where you want to go the night before!)
We arrived at the Beach Club an hour before our ADR and checked in. They told us it would be closer to our actual time before we were called, which we were fine with. It gave us time to relax in the lobby and admire all the Christmas decorations.
We were buzzed in just around 7:30 and were lead to a round table in the corner. It was a fantastic spot! Since we were in the corner, there was no one running past our table to get to the buffet.
I started off with...Fried clams strips, battered shrimp, and some snow crab legs.
The fried clams strips and battered shrimp were good! I liked the snow crabs legs, but they're so tedious to crack open and get the meat out. But dipped in butter, they were worth it. Lets be real, everything is better dipped in butter!
My next trip I got...clockwise starting at the top...
Mashed potatoes with gravy, herb-marinated salmon, more fried clams strips, chicken breast with mushroom sauce, and in the middle a piece of cornbread.
Let's start with the potatoes. YUM. Bad idea if you're trying to eat as much food as possible, but they were good!
The Herb-marinated salmon was THE BEST cooked salmon I personally have ever tasted. I'd go back just for that!
The clam strips were obviously good, because I loaded up on them again.
The chicken was tender and delicious. I love mushrooms, so I scooped up a bunch of them!
Lastly, the corn bread was good. Nothing too special about it, but it wasn't terrible!
I think during that trip I also got a bowl of Mac and Cheese for my sister and I to share...
We both dug in before I got to take a picture. I've heard good things about this stuff, and I found it to be only 'meh' I don't know how fresh the pot was though. It just wasn't anything special.
Last but not least, DESSERT!
I'm a big lover of all things sweets, so I hit that area hard.
Starting at the top and going clockwise...
Two cookies and cream cupcakes, because oreos are my weakness.
A Boston Cream Cake
A pistachio cheese cake
A chocolate peanut butter cupcake
and a red velvet cupcake.
They were ALL really good. Obviously, I started chowing down on them before I took a picture. I was pretty much stuffed at this point, but it wasn't going to stop me from finishing these suckers.
I let my husband try some of the peanut butter chocolate. He said it was comparable with his grandmother's which is really good! The most shockingly delicious thing on here was the pistachio cheese cake. It was so yummy!
Another thing to note: Our waitress kept up with our drinks and removing plates! She deserved every last bit of that 18% automatically tacked on for large parties!
The last time I ate at CMC was on my 21st birthday. I was at Epcot that day sampling all the alcohol beverages I could. By time I got to dinner I was tired and hot. I don't remember it being this good, and I'm so glad I gave it another shot!
Cape May Cafe gets a
9/10 from me this time! If I could only choose one buffet to go to, this one would be it.
Everyone in my party LOVED this place.
