This past weekend, DD18 and I attended a concert by The Who. My daughter is a huge fan of The Who, and when she found out months ago that they were touring, we got tickets.

The concert was at the beautiful Nokia theatre in Los Angeles, and we had second row seats. The seating location was amazing, as was the concert. Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey (the only two remaining Who members) put on an unbelievable performance. They are NOT young guys, but their energy was incredible. It was a real treat hearing Roger sing and seeing Pete play guitar.:) I also enjoyed watching Zac Starkey on drums and Simon Townshend on guitar.

I seriously thought my hearing had been permanently damaged, though. Today is the first day that I can't hear ringing in my ears. It was the loudest concert that I've ever been to.:scared:

Other than my diminished hearing, I thoroughly enjoyed the concert. :listen: Makes me wonder, though, if anyone has really suffered hearing loss from sitting so close to the stage at concerts.:confused3 Maybe I'm just getting old, because the people behind us were shouting for the band to play louder.:scared1:

Well, yes. I actually believe that Daltrey or Townshend actually has a significant hearing loss... aha, both of them: http://www.4hearingloss.com/archives/2006/03/roger_daltrey_s.html

I saw Madonna last week. I wore ear plugs that are good to 33 decibels. It made all the difference in the world. I could still hear, and for a couple songs like her ROCK version of Borderline (who knew she played guitar?) I took one of the ear plugs out, but at the end of the night I could hear everything, yay!

I'm dealing with a hearing loss and tinnitus that I know is from spending my 20s at concerts with boyfriends who were too embarrassed to "let" me wear ear plugs...

I learned my lesson when I was 21 years old and went to a local nightclub to hear a band and couldn't hear and had non-stop ringing in both of my ears for three days after it :scared: ... after that experience I vowed to never take any chances again ... and ever since then, (which, I admit, has been a little more than a few years now ), I have always worn earplugs whether it be at a concert or wherever the volume or sound seemed to be high or loud :music: ... I just never want to go through anything like that again ...

I have ringing in my ears bad today because I, too sat in row 2 but at the MSU basketball game last night. Way loud!!!
