DH learned of the almost 5 hour drive to Hershey that I was planning for the end of June and was totally against driving that far . . .He started talking about it with one of his co-workers and they told him exactly how long this drive was . . . I knew he wouldn't want to drive that long . . .But I figured I would start planning and getting him into the Hershey Park vacation and he wouldn't care . . .sigh . . .

But . . .he said that instead of a Summer vacation if I really wanted to . . .I can plan on going to WDW at the end of October! His work settled their contract and he has a year's worth of retro pay coming along with a raise . . . :bounce:

Just when I thought I wasn't going this year at all . . .

I still wanted to go to Hershey though . . .

:(

Hershey is nice but it's no WDW!

We are within 2 hours of Hershey. Our heating oil co rents Hershey park each Spring. Customers & friends can buy tickets for $16 each. DH still isn't sure he wants to go. We are so spoiled by Disney.

That's exactly DH's problem . . .

He started saying (besides the drive) how bout if I don't like it, what if we drive all the way there and I don't want to stay? He was just so negative about the whole thing . . .then the kicker "It's Not Like WDW" well no duh . . .

And he thinks I'm the one who's addicted . . . :teeth:

if he likes amusement parks in general and roller coaster, he will Like HersheyPArk they also have some top rate shows...
quite a feww of their entertainers have gone on to broadway, one is in a current TV show..and one that I know is in the Hoop Dee Doo revue at WDW

I'd pick WDW over Hershey any day of the week! We enjoy going to Hershey Park once a summer but if we don't get there, it's no big deal. I don't think I'd drive 5 hours just to go there, but lots of people do.

Now, driving 16 hours to WDW - we'd do that in a heartbeat!! If we got the chance to FLY in 2 hours - even better!

Enjoy your trip to Disney!!

WOW....I honestly can't believe that your DH won't drive 5 hours to go to Hershey. I've never been, but if I was within 5 hours I'd make a weekend trip and go. We're driving 4 hours one way to go to my DH's grandmother's birthday dinner this Saturday and then turning around and coming straight back home that night. I say go for it....Hershey and WDW! :p

I know that's right! Tell him to suck it up and get in the car! You want to go to Hershey, you should go to Hershey!

I'm just kidding. But seriously, 5 hours really is not that bad. It takes that long to get from Dallas to San Antonio. I can make that trip without even having to stop for a potty break!
