I don't know whether to dance, or cry!

I won a trip to WDW, and I'm booked at Poly (lagoon view) for 3 nights/4days next month. I won it last month, and had to take the vacation by Dec. 31, 2007. The Poly is my dream resort, and I'd never be able to afford to stay there if I hadn't won the trip.
I want to be excited about it, BUT I'm hoping to get a new job, and I'm waiting to hear from them any day now. I don't know if I'll be able to take a few days off to go to WDW or not? I don't want to lie to them and call off sick, so I plan to talk to human resources about it after I get hired and hope they understand. I really would hate to send my wife and kids on a trip to Disney and not be able to go with them.
If I don't get the job, I'm just telling my current employer that I'm taking off---I'm a temp and not making much money there, so it won't really matter if they let me go because of this. I'll just get another temp job.

Anyone ever experience this, and how did you handle the situation?

Well for what it is wrth I would be DANCING...
I would be up front with them before you take the job though. Most places will understand and would be willing to work with you!

Won a trip to WDW!!! Wow, that is totally cool. I would absolutely tell my new employer up front about it. As an employer, I would not have any problem with new hires taking already planned trips. I know how hard it is to change plans so late in the game, it's not like you can just call up and change the airline tickets, hotel, etc. Plus, if the new employer doesn't understand, are you sure you want to work there?
