We are going to WDW for our 6th time in June. I LOVE the planning and read the forums a lot. I always change my mind on what p.s.'s to make but this time it's crazy. Our very first trip 8 years ago I made a LOT of p.s. Every trip since I still make several but less and less each trip because sometimes we'll have a p.s. for a sitdown full dinner and then when we get there we are tired and not that hungry. I've made and cancelled 3 p.s. so far and still have 1 at LTT. Haven't been able to get a couple we wanted but I'm really starting to think I want to see how we feel each day and then see what we can get. There really is no place we would be upset if we didn't get in to since we have eaten at a lot of the WDW restaurants. I want this particular trip to be very laid back and relaxing. I don't want to be on a schedule. I want to be flexible and see what we are really in the mood to eat at the time. But this goes against my usual obsessive planning side. Do you think I'm going to regret doing this? :confused3

I don't think you will regret this. We do this because we never know what we will be in the mood to eat or if we will be in the mood to eat much after a long hard day in the parks. We only have only made two p.s.'s for our visit this year and that is for Chef Mickey's our first night there and CP for breakfast one morning. Other than that we will play the wait in line game if we feel like a sit down meal.

you can always call Disney Dining from your room and get a PS the day of. We did this Labor Day weekend 2003, and it worked out great! :cool1:

We made way fewer PSs on our second trip than our first and then even cancelled some of those. When I'm very definite about the places I want to try, I will make the PSs, but I see nothing wrong with winging it if that suits your travel style. ;)

I read your reply about the ps and noticed you were at WDW Labor Day weekend 2003. We will be there over Labor Day Weekend this Sept. Did you find it very crowded over the holiday weekend? Was it difficult to be seated in a restaurant? Also, do you remember what the weather was like?
Thanks for any info you can give me.

We had short waits on most attractions, and used fastpass for a few that had longer waits. We went w/o kids that trip, so we just winged it on which parks to visit, where to eat, etc. We had NO trouble getting into the restaurants we wanted to visit. I would just call Disney Dining the morning or afternoon of the same day, and get a PS. The only bad day was Labor Day monday. And then it was only the MK. It was PACKED!!!! I mean wall to wall, can't move or hardly breathe packed. But I think that the crowds were due to Spectromagic and the fireworks at MK going on that night....it was the ONLY night that week before or after that these were happening, and I think everyone ending or just starting their vacations came to see them. Have a great trip! I wish I was going to be there, but then I ALWAYS wish that!!!

We live near WDW and I rarely make PS days in advance.
I do occasionally when I want to make plans or KNOW we want to be at a certain area on a specific date. Sometimes I literally make PS' an hour before I arrive.
Sometimes I don't get my first choice. But not that often. And I have never felt bad about my second choice. :)
