Well, i have been planning our wedding ever since i found this board and we are not engaged yet.:rolleyes1 I had got into my head that we would have a wedding at sea breeze point and was undecided as to where to take our 13 guests afterwards. But i just stumbled across the FAQ for Swan/Dolphin weddings and its made me question things. from the look of things it seems cheaper and would have many of the benefits of the escape package. Im not worried about the disney photographer as i think we would like randy to do our photos.

just wondering whether anyone changed their plans to Swan/Dolphin wedding due to price or if anyone knows any drawbacks?

oh and if anyone has any bright ideas for an informal reception that doesn't cost the world inputs would be welcome

thanks

Hey! I'm in the same position as you with debating between the Swan and Dolphin vs. an Escape. We still haven't decided what are going to do but I think we are leaning towards an Escape.

My advice to you is this: Make an Escape wishbook on the DFTW website and include everything you wish to have. Then, check out the Swan and Dolphin thread on this board and find the post that has the breakdown of all the prices and amenities. Then compare.

DF and I discovered that our wedding would be roughly the same price (give or take a 1 or 2 hundreds). Keep in mind with an Escape wedding you must stay a minimum of 4 nights on property, so that might be something to count in your calculations. Again, even though overall a Swan and Dolphin Wedding will be cheaper- it's not that much cheaper and we'd prefer to have the Escape.

As far as an informal reception, I'd say to just pick a restaurant on (or off!) Disney property and make an ADR for your group. Eating at a resort restaurant or the Boardwalk would probably be cheaper because if you ate in one of the parks you'd have to pay park admission. This website www.mouseweddings.com has some good ideas for all Disney weddings and has info on informal receptions. Definitely check it out!

Good luck and let us know what you decide!!
