I Don't Know, I Don't Speak Wind!!

HI there :sunny: New reader here and I am really enjoying the report so far. Your girls are adorable. I can't wait until I have kids so I can take them to Disney World. Looking forward to pictures of AOA :cutie:-Amanda

Woot woot! Shopping pictures already!
Oh dear I am gonna be in shopping trouble in October!

I'm sorry you had so much trouble with your room! :headache: What a nightmare! I'm glad they were able to fix everything. Nice of the manager to apologize personally as well. I'm glad you liked your new location!

That's cute how you got your title. Can't wait to see the pictures. Ds#2 wants to go for his birthday in March and stay at the new hotel. Have to see with dh new job within the Coast Guard. He travels a lot more.

I'm here! :wave2: Actually, I've been following since Day One, but I think my smartphone ate my first post!

50s & connecting! Nice! What a good manager to personally apologize, too. Glad to see that the girls got to swim before the days of drenching.

Good timing with those shopping pics. I just ordered some Disney gifts for two sweet nieces (same ages as your two sweeties) and only threw in one little thing for me. Phew! If I'd seen your pics first, I'd have put a much bigger dent in the wallet. Virtual shopping, fortunately, is great fun and so much cheaper.

Ok, ready for that stroll to AoA.

Driving under the sign and seeing Pop Century for the first time -- hurray!!!

Ugh to the smoke smell in the room -- glad they were able to switch you!

I have never seen the Take along Treat pack! Looks yummy! Hope its still there in 2013!!!
Looking forward to more!!

The 50s section is a much better section than the 80s, especially over-looking the lake. Looking forward to seeing your next pictures; A of A looks amazing.

Yay for arrival day and double yay for swimming on arrival day!!!!! :beach: POP question--I have 3 adults. I was booked at POP for just DH and I, but my brother is coming so I switched to CSR for the queen beds. I reallllllly want to stay at POP. :hippie: Would an air mattress or rollaway bed just be awful in the room? Not sure DH and I can share a double bed, but we might be so Disney tired, that it would be okay. It's almost the same price to get 2 rooms at POP as 1 room at CSR, so I might end up doing that. Sorry, my DH is tired of hearing this debate so I thought I would ask the POP experts. :)

Ooh shopping!!! My favorite! :) I see a few things is like to bring home!

I'm glad they figured out your rooms. You for sure don't want to be in smoky rooms!!! Ick!!!

Hi, I'm finally here....what a great title! Still laughing....:rotfl: Brooklynn is a hoot!

I don't know what it is but I love arrival pics!
The girls are so cute with their suitcases all ready to go. I like the new zebra print bags! :thumbsup2

So much fun to see all of your pics from Magical Express to the POP pool.
Glad to see the girls got a swim in before the rain.

Oh my, I have a shopping bag/list that is full of new Disney bags after joining along for our first look at the merchandise!
I luv the Minnie & pink roses bag. I almost bought that white bag with the red & black hearts on the last trip.
I spotted a matching wallet to the handbag I picked up in May. :)
Lexi will definitely want the Perry ears. Can't wait t show her when she gets back.
Hmmm...there are other things too, I'll have to go back and write them down.

Thank you so much for including a pic of the fridge in the room. I was wondering where it would be. ;)

I'm happy that Disney worked their magic and got you a better room and it was in the very fun 50's section!!!

Will we get classroom pics again this year? I can't believe it's already time for you to get back.
Where did the summer go?

I have some news....I booked a September trip!!! :yay:
My boss was the one who actually convinced me to go. ::yes::
Although I didn't need that much of a push.
We will be at ASMu. Five park days and we will go to MNSSHP on one of the nights.
I was unsuccessful getting any of our favorite ADR's this time.
Everything was booked. I did get Tony's for lunch and a Boma bkfst.

I wish I could have been able to go in October when you are there.
(October to December is our busiest time of the year.)

I'm so glad to be here for your newest TR! You bring so much joy into my life, I can't thank you enough!

Would an air mattress or rollaway bed just be awful in the room?

I have put a twin air mattress in the room when my son came on our trips.

We put it by the door. Just leaned it up against the wall during the day.

Of course, you have got to stay at POP!!! It's AWESOME!!! :thumbsup2

It is our favorite. ;)

Thanks!! I have heard it can be done, but you are the first that I have heard from that has actually done it. :thumbsup2 Congrats on your September trip! So jealous of all your tickers.

Shopping pictures right away! Love that. lol.
I bought the bag that matched that mickey head/butterflies/flowers wristlet in the bags photo. It was great for rainy days as it is coated in plastic. Pretty colors too. Might have to get the wristlet to match in 2 weeks! I can hardly wait to post this so I can see our countdown! Its only 5 nights but its 5 Disney nights!

Love the shopping pictures. Creighton is sitting here next to me listing off everything in your pictures. He is telling me that he wants to go to Disney World and ride the bus.

And now he wants to make you a picture with the smilies.

:clown::offtopic::furious::moped::hug:popcorn:::happytv::drive::crowded:

Woohoo! A new trip report. I have been away for so long. Super busy with school things and regular life. I can't wait to read about your summer trip. : )

MeMom- I know how expensive getting ready for a new school year can be. Have you ever tried selling the things you make online? I started to and have been making extra money for a few months now. It could be a great way for you to get extra money for your trips. Message me if you are interested and I will tell you the site. I don't think the Moderators will like me mentioning it on here.

So glad you got your room problems sorted out. That is a hassle you could have done without.
I love the shopping pictures. I spotted a couple of things in there that we got on our recent trip:thumbsup2. Frazer had never watched Phineus and Ferb before our stay at French Quarter in June, but with the amount of rain we had this trip, we spent more time than normal relaxing and watching TV.::yes::. Perry came home with us, back to the UK.

I love your Pop pictures. I wish I could be in that pool right now. I miss walking by that big bowling pin every morning.

I'm glad you think the Caribbean Beach Resort is beautiful, that is where we are staying in Dec. We have never seen it in person before.

I hate it when rooms smell like smoke, I don't blame you for changing.

We really enjoy going over to CBR to eat. They have good chicken and vegetables. That's where Brooklynn and I ended up eating on July 4th evening.

Great arrivals pictures! Sorry about the room snafu. We were given a room that reeked of smoke once at the Hilton. We insisted it be changed too.

Wow the pool looks like the place to be, it looks so empty. And thanks so much for taking us shopping once again. So much to see and want.

I secretly wanted to be changed, because we like the other side of the resort better, but I didn't ask to be changed. I just told them the situation and asked if someone could do something about the smell.

There were only a few other people in the pool - maybe one family or maybe two.

My shopping bag is ready, and I see several things I would like to put in it!

The girls look like they are enjoying the pool!

Glad they were able to get you new rooms, the smell of smoke for 13 days would be enough to ruin your stay!

Both girls were little water babies on this trip. They got lots of water time. ::yes::

I wasn't going to call at first. I was just going to live with it, but then I thought about the money I was paying to stay there for two weeks, and I decided I would call.

The snafu free departure resulted in a snafu filled checking.

Glad they got it all straightened out and I hope they billed the previous occupant for the smelly room.

Glad the girls got their swim in and I can see the clouds building.... uh oh

Both issues were solved quickly, so it was okay within a short time, and we were looking forward to the rest of the trip. The rain was still playing games with us, though - off and and on and off and on. We were not sure we would even go to a park that day, but as it turns out, we did get some park time a little later.

Gotta love those heavenly gates to welcome you to Disney! Caribbean Beach does look like a truly beautiful resort, how I wish to stay there someday, Walt's vision fully fulfilled as mentioned in the great video. Pop looks as amazing as ever. Sorry to hear about your little room debacle, at least you can always rely on Disney's efficiency and you got such a great view of AoA! It looks absolutely amazing over there Love those pictures of Brooklynn and Bella swimming in the quiet pool, a shame the clouds had to close in on you guys

Ooooo... time for some shopping! I definitely have my eye on those pins, especially the Brave ones. The Perry and Phineas & Ferb merchandise also looks great! The Perry/Mickey ears are beckoning to me. Seriously, why can't I just be in Disney RIGHT NOW?! Great post cards by the way! :D

Can't wait to read about your little walk over to AoA, so excited to see that resort in all of its new glory, eeeepppp!!!

Art of Animation is nice. I don't see it overtaking Pop as our home, but it's nice to have it there to visit. The food court is good. :thumbsup2

It's a good thing I am shopping via your photos because I would have some full bags. There are so many things my kids would go nuts for!

Sorry about the double whammy room situation, but glad to hear it was rectified quickly!

I'm guessing Perry and Phineas and Ferb are very popular with your boys.

Glad they got your rooms fixed up! One thing I can never figure out is how it gets to a point that a guest checks into a room that smells strongly of smoke? I mean can't housekeeping smell it when they clean the room? Maybe we just have super sensitive noses

I love going virtual shopping with you MeMom, thanks!!

I don't know how a housekeeper could have not smelled this. It wasn't weak; it was pretty powerful.

Glad you enjoyed the shopping trip. :goodvibes

I always request a specific section for clients and almost always they don't get the section requested, and are usually told the request isn't indicated. Disney's computer system leaves a lot to be desired. I always tell them if they don't like their room location, to politely ask if there is something else available. 9 times out of 10 there is or at least there will be later that day.

Glad you guys got a non-stinky room!

I love Perry! Actually the entire Phineas & Ferb show has really grown on me. It's very witty, with lots of jokes that only adults would get - not dirty, just kinda quirky adult humor.

This is not the first time we have been told a request has not been noted in the system. Wonder where this information disappears to? The good thing is, they always fix us up! :wizard:

Yay, you've arrived! Glad to hear they took care of the room situations right away!
I love your shopping pictures - it always makes me smile, and then wish that I were there to buy some goodies!! It's good I'm not - I'll spend enough in October anyway!

They have some cool stuff in October, and it is a good time to start thinking about Christmas decorations, too. They used to have a few Thanksgiving things, but I have not seen any lately.

Memom, thanks for the welcome

Always enjoy your pics, originally I started reading because of a title...kept on because of the pics and conversation.

This Thanksgiving trip Brendan (19) will be arriving from school a day ahead of us, we picked POP for him to stay based on your reports. Thanks for giving me such a feel for the place.

Good luck getting that room ready

Cynthia

Hope he likes it! Tell him to walk across the bridge to check out AoA, if he gets a chance.

I'm so excited, as in September we will be staying at POP for the first time!! Your pictures are so much fun, I almost feel like I'm there!!

Can't help it, but when I saw the title of your report, all I could think of was.....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3DrOqRQQ9mg:lmao::rotfl2:

Don't mind me please. I worked all night last night and only slept a couple of hours.

Looking forward to more!!!

I will check out the video in a little while. I worked in my classroom all day, so I am sitting for a little while and then get some dinner.

DH and I are staying at POP with his family in Jan., so I love all the pictures. I saw things at Everything Pop that are tempting me.

We have requested a king room with a tub, because one time that put us in a king with the roll in shower. On my conformation e-mail it just reads a tub requested. I think I need to call them back.

I love the 50's section that faces the lake.

It would not hurt to call them. We like that 50's area, too. There are only two buildings I have not stayed in now - Lady and Mowgli & Baloo.

:woohoo: for arrival and check-in. Glad you got the room problems straightened out and you got your connecting-smoke free-rooms!

Enjoyed the virtual shopping. It was much cheaper on my wallet!

Taking the pictures helps me not buy too much. :)

I love Pop so much. Sigh.

I don't trade pins, but I buy at least one for myself each trip...and I saw several in your pics that I liked! Might be tough to choose next trip. pixiedust:

Great update!

I don't trade, either, but I collect special pins. The girls do a little trading. Jill and John got me a great set of World Showcase pins on this trip. I love it!!!

HI there :sunny: New reader here and I am really enjoying the report so far. Your girls are adorable. I can't wait until I have kids so I can take them to Disney World. Looking forward to pictures of AOA :cutie:-Amanda

So glad to have you!

I will probably do another batch of pictures tomorrow. I haven't been home long, so it's time to attend to things around the house tonight.

Woot woot! Shopping pictures already!
Oh dear I am gonna be in shopping trouble in October!

I'm sorry you had so much trouble with your room! What a nightmare! I'm glad they were able to fix everything. Nice of the manager to apologize personally as well. I'm glad you liked your new location!

You know, my October 'hauls' are usually the biggest ones, for some reason. I did buy several t-shirts this summer, though. I bought a few resort t-shirts before they were grabbed up and no longer anywhere to be seen.

That's cute how you got your title. Can't wait to see the pictures. Ds#2 wants to go for his birthday in March and stay at the new hotel. Have to see with dh new job within the Coast Guard. He travels a lot more.

Well, if you are there anywhere from March 20 - 27, let me know, and we'll arrange to meet and say hello!

I'm here! Actually, I've been following since Day One, but I think my smartphone ate my first post!

50s & connecting! Nice! What a good manager to personally apologize, too. Glad to see that the girls got to swim before the days of drenching.

Ok, ready for that stroll to AoA.

Virtual shopping is safer for me, too. Sometimes I fill a cart full of good things on Disney Shopping, and then I never hit submit. ;) It's still fun, though.

Driving under the sign and seeing Pop Century for the first time -- hurray!!!

Ugh to the smoke smell in the room -- glad they were able to switch you!

Going under that arch is always so exciting! It never, ever gets old!

I have never seen the Take along Treat pack! Looks yummy! Hope its still there in 2013!!!
Looking forward to more!!

Maybe it will be. I had not seen it before.

The 50s section is a much better section than the 80s, especially over-looking the lake. Looking forward to seeing your next pictures; A of A looks amazing.

I agree. The 80's/90's area is my least favorite, but I did like being right at poolside in the 80's back in October. That was very convenient.

Yay for arrival day and double yay for swimming on arrival day!!!!! POP question--I have 3 adults. I was booked at POP for just DH and I, but my brother is coming so I switched to CSR for the queen beds. I reallllllly want to stay at POP. We have used an air mattress on more than one occasion. It works fine, as long as you are a little flexible. You have to move the table or have that person right by the door, and the mattress just needs to be put up against the wall in the daytime. It was not a problem for us. If I were you, I'd rather have two bathrooms than one. ::yes::

Ooh shopping!!! My favorite! I see a few things is like to bring home!

I'm glad they figured out your rooms. You for sure don't want to be in smoky rooms!!! Ick!!!

We do love our Disney shopping. What trips do you have in the planning stages, besides the October one?

You are getting that September trip!!! Swing by here and pick me up! :cool1:
It doesn't matter what or where you eat. You'll have a blast!

I am doing a Toy Story theme. I'll take pictures when it is finished. It's not big thing, and it was a lot easier finding the things for it. I do still need to get a Rex and a Wheezy, if I can find them

Our DIS friends bring us joy, too. :thumbsup2

a little late but checking in!

I usually just put them in a tub and save them for a party or for the next time I do that theme. Thanks for the idea, but I doubt anyone would pay much for anything I put together. It might look okay from a distance, but if you look too closely, it may have some flaws.

I am not ready to give summer up, but I don't have a choice. Makes me sad, but knowing we have a new baby and an October trip on the way is certainly day brightening!

So glad you got your room problems sorted out. That is a hassle you could have done without.
