I'd be right with you getting a Napoleon!!!
I'm sorry to hear you weren't able to find the tote bag again! I've seen them around all of the World Showcase stores (mine's from the U.K., actually), but I think I've seen them in that International Traders store by the International Gateway as well.
I think it was more a matter of I didn't think to look for it at the right times and places.
I had heard much about the Napoleon, so I moved it to the top of my list. I wish Jill had been with me to share it, though. Now that I have had that, I have to move another World Showcase snack to the top of my list. During Food & Wine time, though, I move a lot of things to the top of my list!
I have been up since 3am...couldn't sleep. The major storm outside didnt help either.
Going to be a very loooong day at work today!
I have to confess I made a change to the trip. (
not surprized are you. )
I just didn't feel comfortable with not being at work for Halloween week.
I think I talked myself into it yesterday because of the cheap flights. And who am I kidding, I wanted to go and Lexi was excited too.
So, instead I booked from Oct.13-16 at POP! Early flight in/late flight out. 4 park days and
MNSSHP!
Flights and room were more but so be it.
I can't believe we will miss each other by a day.
Lexi and I did some shopping for Disney Halloween merchandise yesterday.
She got a tee and the new Mickey & Minnie plushies.
I got Pumpkin Mickey ears that light up and a tote.
I wanted to get these in case they were sold out by the time we got there. In August the only Halloween items that came home with us were a lanyard and the countdown.
Isn't it cute!
I enjoyed our stroll in France.
I like the shoe tree. One of my favorite things is looking at all the creative window displays.
I think you should get that tote...I think I saw it in Germany too!
I guess I need to get ready for work. I'm feeling better compared to yesterday.
If you are getting there early on the 13th, we should be able to cross paths. I think a couple of others are coming in on the 13th, as well. Maybe we should just plan for a Pop meet - at the Bowling Pin Pool, maybe? Sometimes we make a last day sweep through Magic Kingdom or DTD, so I don't know for sure what this trip holds, but I think we can work in a Pop meet with whoever is interested. We usually let the girls swim some before we get on the plane, so we might be hanging out at a pool or the kiddie pool anyway. What time do you arrive? I am hoping
Pat will get there early enough on the 13th, too, to meet up for a minute.
I like all of your Halloween goodies!
I really wish I had gone into the France shops before we went to the REAL France. Then I would have known not to buy things in Paris that I could just get at Epcot!! Grr.
There were at least three things in that post that came home with us from DLP! HA!
I will have a baguette, cheese plate, and a chocolate croissant, sil vou plais. Merci!
I've already decided I want to shop more (or at least look more) at World Showcase on the next trip. I figure I'll be stopping all over for food and wine, why not wander back in the shops? I also want to see the French movie - haven't seen that in ages!
Such pretty pictures of France - I'll be curious to see what they do with expanding the bakery etc.
I thought of you when I put those pictures up!

But at least you have the inner satisfaction of knowing yours came from the
real France.
I really enjoy the movie in France. I love the peaceful music, but I admit that it is also so peaceful it can put oyu to sleep when you are in a state of sleep deprivation caused by Disney fun.
I do love my AK, AKL, and giraffes!
I'll just load up a selection of pastries into one of those adorable World Showcase bags!
I do need to try a Napoleon one day, but this morning I would choose an apple tart to enjoy with my coffee.
The apple tarts were cute, weren't they? I think they would be exceptionally good with some caramel topping and a dollop of vanilla bean ice cream.
They are called the British Revolution now.
And yes I did read also that the France shop is being revamped.
That bag with all the country names on it was cute. Glad you got your France Minnie.
Yes, Minnie joined all of her other international friends here at home. Morocco is the only country that does not have a plush representative.
Enjoyed the trip to France this morning! I wouldn't even know where to begin on choosing something from the patisserie (sp?)...it all looks yummy!
Eenie, meenie, minie, moe....
That shoe tree is a little weird to me, too. And that blue France t-shirt reminds me of one that Kailyn got in Norway; it says "I (viking hat) Norge." My best friend ALSO spent time in France (twice, actually) so that and Morocco are the ones that always remind me of her.
Seeing AoA on the bus stops is so exciting! I have to say, I'm also excited that it and Pop aren't sharing a bus.
I wanted to share some good news with Distown...I've been interning/subbing at the same child care center for a year (did my internship from September-May for my practicum and accepted a paid substitute position there as well). There has been an opening for a full-time toddler teacher and my assistant director asked me if I'd consider applying for it. I did and earlier this week, my assistant director called me to offer me the job!!!! It still feels surreal but I am SO excited because not only is this what I've been slowly paying my way through school for, but the hours, pay and benefits allow me to quit the job I've held since my senior year of high school (almost eleven years) AND still have time for school. Such a huge change, but an amazing one!
DIStown is so happy for you!

You deserve it, and we know you'll be an incredible teacher. There are many times I wish I was teaching pre-school again. I taught Tuesday-Thursday school (3 year olds) for several years. I will probably go back to something like that when I retire. That is, if I am not down in Florida working side by side with Brooklynn at Animal Kingdom.
I usually get the Eclaire, but this past trip I tried the Napoleon and LOVED it. I will definitly be getting it again in October when we go.
Speaking of Halloween things from Disney, I got this very cute Trick or Treat mini Mickey Ghost that lights up. I'll have to take pictures and post it on my pre-trip report for you to see.
Pretty sure I know which one you are talking about, but I am always up for Disney pictures. I'm not good with checking pre-trip reports. It's time consuming to write one's own/keep up with trip reports, along with that little interference called real life. I will be along on the TR, though.

Give us the heads up, because I'm also not good at finding them on my own.
I want that WS tote!!! That is the best! Oh I hope it's still around! I'm glad you enjoyed your napoleon! I've only ever had the chocolate mousse there but it was certainly delicious! I love the France shopping!
No joke! Today at work I did an inventory of Holiday signage and table cloths for displays. If I needed any the order had to be in by Sept. 15th so we will have them by Hallowe'en! Crazy!

You guys must be
nuts at Hallowe'en!! Even today I was in and the candy section was bananas!
Hope you and the family are feeling better! Too bad you didn't stick with your original dates - we could have met up again!
I'm not big on solid chocolate desserts. I tend to like hints of chocolate - like a drizzle of chocolate or chocolate chips. Occasionally, I will make brownies, but even with those, I usually crumble a little brownie all in a bowl of vanilla ice cream. The chocolate lava cake at F&W is delicious, but one bite was all I could do. That may be the chocolatiest chocolate thing I have ever tasted!
I would tell you girls not to work too hard in these next few months leading up to the holidays, but I don't think it would so any good.
Wow. Just caught up. I am so glad Jill is on the mend!
Just made a change in our reservations. I was going to take my DS4 on a mommy and me trip the same weekend that my DD13 was going to WDW/universal with a friend's family for her friends Bas mitsva (sp?)
The overprotective mom in me thought that was a great idea but my 13 yr old did not.
Sooo i changed my mommy and louie trip to 10/5-7.(friends are going that weekend from Chattanooga so it is a good change) MNSSHP the night of the 5th and epcot on the 6th. We are staying at POP too. So if you see a huge 4 yr old in a captain america costume the 5th that is us! Any meets planned for that weekend. Its weird not taking DD but she and I had so many trips just the two of us before DS was born I thought it would be nice to experience a trip through his eyes and she is good with it as well. So excited!
We finalyl get to meet Louie! Yay!

We'll see you on one of those days. We'll trade phone numbers and play text tag until we cross paths.
It's nice that Daisy was in agreement with the trip. It will be good for you and Captain America to have this special one-on-one time.
Thanks for the virtual trip through France! I, too, love that tote bag!!
In terms of expansion/renovation plans, what I have heard is that the existing bakery becomes an ice cream parlor and that they are adding on "in back" where you exit the movie to have a larger bakery and seating area...sounds good to me!!!!
That is much needed. I have seen the line running waaaay out of that place! Thanks for the update.
