I Don't Know, I Don't Speak Wind!!

How cool that Brooklynn got to go swimming at Stormalong Bay! That has to be the coolest pool on property for sure. :thumbsup2 So cute that she was being a mermaid and a dolphin.

Here in Virginia, we have been getting heavy rain and winds with the tornado warnings tonight. For now, the rain seems to have tapered off and I don't hear the wind anymore.

The weather was bad here today in Georgia. There was a tornado that touched down in Adairsville, which is north of Atlanta. One fatality and lots of damage. Cars were flipped over on interstate 75. Around my town, we just had heavy rains and winds. It was so bad that the schools had late dismissal. I pick the boys up from school every day so I was able to get them right when school let out. They won't walk the kids out in the car rider line during bad weather, but you can go in and get them. I think they ended up letting the kids leave around 3:10. I think we are to have a few showers throughout the night but the worst is over.

Yall were on the reservation? :confused3 Hahah that's really cool though! I bet Brooklynn loved her swim time at Stormalong Bay!

Fourth of July festivities look like so much fun! Those people at the Boardwalk really do look like they're having a blast. :goodvibes

Yay for the pics of BC, YC, and Boardwalk! So great on this rainy, windy day. I hope everyone is safe. It seems like so many are going through pain. It is nice to escape to our happy place! I thought I was staying at the Beach Club after BLT in March, but my conference is at the Yacht Club. Oh well, I am excited to stay there for the first time. Stay safe everyone!

As MeMom mentioned a dear friend and coworker lost her 14 year old son late Friday night in a roll over accident on a dirt road just outside of our small town. It was just yards away from Baylor's best friends house. Baylor woke me up very early Saturday morning with the news. The boys, (Baylor and Tommy) were out in the field where the SUV finally came to rest inspecting the area and said it was horrible. We attended the visitation this evening and the parents seem to be walking in a fog. Tomorrow is the funeral. The entire community is mourning the loss of this dear boy. We ache for his family. The boy that died attended our elementary school from K-5 so we all knew him so well.....

 for everyone!!! There is too much sadness going on!

Here's something to look forward too!!

Hope everyone is safe!! It's been windy here, but so far no rain!

The Beach Club looks AMAZING! I so want to stay there one day!

I love the hair wraps. Kailyn and I each got one last year and they lasted forever! We both ended up needing to cut them and unravel them to get them out...I took mine out before her, and she took hers out sometime in March or April, I think. We got them in January. Might do it again this year.

I only have two more days of work to get through and three more sleeps! I think we're getting picked up at like five am on Saturday...I actually can't wait for that

I kind of talked her into a clip-on so that it wouldn't get tangled up in her hair. She already has a tough enough time with her thick mane, and she didn't need any added stress. ;)

I will be awake and thinking about you at 5 a.m. on Saturday morning. ::yes::

Oh thank you for the break from the sad. So very much of it and my heart is broken for the families of all the boys in the accident near Anita. Too close to home in so many ways and so many lives that will never be the same. We've had tough news around here as well and seeing lawn parties, hair wraps and slices of watermelon is just what I needed.

Holy cats was that lawn a happening place or what. Yowza! Very happy Brooklynn got another chance at her beach campfire :thumbsup2 One of these days we will really make it to one, somewhere!

And this campfire had watermelon! :cool1: Does it get any better??? :woohoo:

Yes, we have to deal with our burdens and sadness all too often, so offsetting that with some 'magic' and some smiles is a big help. :)

Ahhh... BC pictures after a long windy day. The temps here where nice but boy it is dropping.

What a beautiful place, cannot wait for Stormalong Bay this summer. I wonder if Luke will give that slide a ride.

The boardwalk entertainment is something that my girls really love... hope we get some time there to be entertained this summer.

Thanks always for the pictures.

Laura

On our arrival day in March, the plan is to go straight to Epcot, and then when we return to Beach Club, we'll cut over to the left and take the Boardwalk route back. Hopefully, there will be some fun stuff going on over there that evening.

I hope Luke gives the slide a try.

Thank you for the break from sad. It was needed here as well.

Hope you guys hang in there with the winds... believe they are headed our way tonight. Totally agree, the DIS Town forecast is going to be for consistent sun and a balmy temp!!

Love the pictures of my "home" the Beach Club. Such a pretty area. Glad you got to hang at SAB and experience the movie at night. Very cool!!

Winds have died down for the moment. It is dark outside, but it looks like there is a light dusting of snow on the ground.

We didn't stay for the movie at Beach Club, but we'd like to do that someday. I think it is great that so many of the resorts are doing that now. Watching an outdoor movie in Disney World is a cool thing!

Thanks for the trip to Beach Club and Board Walk, just what I needed after my day.....
It's really cold here with a mighty wind blowing. I hope you all stay safe and warm down south.
We were supposed to wake up to some snow but it was only a dusting.

I'm sure you were emotionally exhausted yesterday. Prayers for the family who wakes up this morning and has to create a whole new 'norm' for themselves.

We have a cold/cool weekend ahead, and then we'll be back up into the 50's and 60's next week.

It is certainly a great pool and more. The girls enjoy playing in the sand.

Hope the weather gets better for all soon. :thumbsup2

I saw Adairsville pointed out on the national news. It will take a while for them to recover. We are thankful that you and yours are safe at home - and that the worst is over!

Yall were on the reservation? :confused3 Hahah that's really cool though! I bet Brooklynn loved her swim time at Stormalong Bay!

Fourth of July festivities look like so much fun! Those people at the Boardwalk really do look like they're having a blast. :goodvibes

Yes, Anita and Marc put our names on the reservation so we could swim, if we wanted to. Brooklynn thinks that is a pretty cool place to swim.

The Boardwalk 'vibe' was fun that night. If we want to dance at Poly on NYE, we can go down closer to the pool. They dance it up down there, too. :cool1:

We have one more crazy month to push through, Cara, and then maybe Tennessee can have some sunshine again.

Hope everyone is safe!! It's been windy here, but so far no rain!

Having Disney trips to look forward to brings a bit of happiness to every single day!

Oh how I love the Yacht Club!!! :lovestruc How fun that Brooklynn was able to splash around in Stormalong Bay!

Looks like lots of fun was happening over at the Boardwalk!!

Ah seeing those BC pics makes me want to be back there again!! Cannot wait for October to be there again. Looks like it was a great day for you. I love walking the Boardwalk & just taking everything in.

Well we had 40-50 degree weather yesterday & this morning but the wind is whipping here also & it is supposed to drop to the teens by tomorrow.

Have a great day.

It was very windy here yesterday. We did got some rain but the major change is the temp. We were in the 70's all day and woke up to the 30's this morning!

You forgot no snow-let's make sure DIStown has no snow (except for Blizzard Beach Style!) :)

Love the Boardwalk area. I had dinner at Cape May a few weeks ago and hadn't been there in years. It was very tasty. Def back on my to-eat-at list!

I love the pics of Brooklyn swimming. I remember non-stop swimming when I was a kid. I long for those days, now all I can think of is how long it will take to re-do my hair

Jill said she had talked with some of our Georgia people today. Anybody who is 'having weather' ;), please check in with us here and let us know how you are making it this evening. We are having high winds again here right now, and the temperature has dropped about 30 degrees. I was talking to Jill on the phone, and she said the wind was really pulling on the car. She is home now, and I told her to keep me posted through the night. When we build DIStown, we're building it in a place with no tornadoes, hurricanes, or floods.[/COLOR][/B] :thumbsup2

Don't forget to build DIStown where there is no snow or ice too for those of us to the north!

I'll be setting my alarm for four, so if you happen to be awake, feel free to text me...or I might text you. I'm down to counting the hours now! In 36 hours, I'll be at Logan airport!

So sorry to hear of all the sadness and so many young lives cut short.
 to everyone involved and may peace be with you all.

******************************************

Hope all of you are safe. We've had tornado warnings here since about two a.m. There are reports of high winds - 70 to 90 mph - on the news. A truck driver said he was driving along and the wind scooped his truck over. Someone on FB said they heard 105 mph, but on the news I have only heard the 70-90. That's still scary and a bit destructive. As far as I know, my house is good. I won't be surprised if I find all my roof shingles in the yard when I peek out this morning, though! They just announced that there are about 25,000 people without power in Davidson County, and there are some roads shut down due to debris and fallen trees. Should be an interesting morning.

And in more exciting and happy news - 7 weeks from right now, I will be at the airport ready to head off to you know where!

Safe here - lots of wind and tense moments. In the end some wind and some rain but nothing like some other places got.

Thanks Elena and Pat.:grouphug:
I was over visiting with my friend today after school. Her family has a trip to Disney planned in just a week and a half. She told me that although she had no interest in going that the trip was still on. They have two other boys and they are going to try to press on and make life as normal as possible for them. She is needing to see about changing their reservation since their number of travelers has changed and they have park tickets and rooms all together. The problem is, I'm not sure if she is up to making that phone call. I just don't think she is able to speak the words that need to be spoken....
I hope there is some way that I can make the call for her.

Oh My.... That would truly be a hard call to make. I hope you find the strength to help her as it will be painful for you too.

I remember when my good friend had to go to the Verizon store to cancel her mothers phone line after her death and waited a long time and still broke down when she had to say the words.

I hope Disney can help and begin the healing process.

Oh Anita, your post made me cry. Hugs to your friend, and having to go on and live when that is the last thing you would want to do.

Oh how I love the Yacht Club!!! :lovestruc How fun that Brooklynn was able to splash around in Stormalong Bay!

It was a fun way to spend a little time. Brooklynn enjoyed seeing people do YMCA. :goodvibes

A dusting of snow again for us. There was a little hope for an ice day, but we're still on. At least it is Friday. :thumbsup2

Looking forward to an October trip will make the next 8 months a little brighter. :)

We still have about 20 mph winds, which makes the cold seem even colder. :cold: Maybe this is a good 'pot of soup' day. Stay warm!

How about a light snow on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day? It will fall on houses and lawns, but not on the streets. :goodvibes

Cape May's breakfast was the best breakfast I have ever had on WDW property.

I was a swimaholic, too! I would love to swim still these days, if I had a private pool. ::yes::

Don't forget to build DIStown where there is no snow or ice too for those of us to the north!

Just a few planned snows here and there so we can make snowmen and snow angels. :)

I'll be setting my alarm for four, so if you happen to be awake, feel free to text me...or I might text you. I'm down to counting the hours now! In 36 hours, I'll be at Logan airport!

We will communicate sometime that morning. ::yes::

Safe here - lots of wind and tense moments. In the end some wind and some rain but nothing like some other places got.

The latest I know on the family here is that the mother had a second surgery and was taken off of her breathing help. She was told about the death of her mother, and she was spending time with the little girl she is sadly going to lose. The baby does have one broken leg, but he is doing well.

Thanks Elena and Pat.:grouphug:

I hope there is some way that I can make the call for her.

I hope you can do that for her, too, or maybe just be there to support her and to take over in case she can't make it through the call.

As a mother, even in your deepest grief, it seems like the natural thing to do would be to want to focus on making things as normal as possible for your other kids. I hope the trip will be a good one for them, in spite of this sad, sad time.

I do, too, Pat. If they were at home, they would probably be doing a lot of crying. Maybe during the trip, they will be able to bolster their spirits and have some fun - and even some laughter. It is very, very close to the loss, so who knows if that is possible, but maybe. If nothing else, maybe just getting away from home and relaxing in the sun will help.

Oh Anita, your post made me cry. Hugs to your friend, and having to go on and live when that is the last thing you would want to do.

Laura

It is sad to imagine all of the mixed emotions. I am sure they are full of sad and probably some mad, but with other children, they have to muster up some fortitude and face each new day for themselves and their kids. I am imagine they are still in a state of disbelief, to a large degree.

Happy Friday!! My alarm went off this morning with "Can You Feel The love Tonight".:goodvibes I just layed there & listened. Great way to wake up!!

Don't forget to build DIStown where there is no snow or ice too for those of us to the north!

I was going to say the same thing!! We've had strange weather over the last few days. It went from temps in the teens to 50 degrees and super windy. The winds died down last night & the cold returned.

T.G.I. Friday!!

Just so sad. I'm glad she has friends like you to lean on. I can't and honestly don't want to ever imagine what they are going through. I look at my kids and know I am blessed everyday to have them safe and sound. Prayers for this family and all the family and friends that have been mentioned here.

Thanks Memom for continuing to bring happiness!

Spring is around the corner and I think we all could use it. Spring always means to me hope and light and happiness ( and a really busy schedule lol)
