Power to NH has been restored LOL

DBF walked through the door an hour ago, showered and has commenced to crashing for the night...

I'm waiting for his boss to call and give him tomorrow off, which they said more than likely would happen. If thats the case, I can see him sleeping straight through till tomorrow afternoon!

He woke at 4am on Wednesday to go to work, and came home for an hour early this morning to shower, change and eat...and went right back out.

Thankfully none of their crews had any accidents or injuries, and the community up north was great to them. Residents brought them coffee quite a bit early this morning and throughout today...

And his favorite part is the double time pay for storm damage..lol

He couldnt believe the response from the community - he was up in the Lancaster area, and generally the tree guys get forgotten, only the power company guys get the "glory"...however the power company is not allowed to cut the tree's...they have to wait for the tree guys LOL...funny how that works. If he wakes up, I'll tell him it was appreciated!

My grandparents are in Berlin, and are always saying that there are great people in the Lancaster area. A lot of those people up there are pretty down on their luck too.

Hi Brandy...DH works for the power company and I can tell you he gets screamed at, cussed out, and has had stuff thrown at him...no glory for him. He went to work yesterday at 5 AM and he crawled home about 4 PM and then they had the nerve to call and ask if he wanted to go out of town... I told them if they could wake him! Do you dread storms as much as I do???

did they ask him if he wanted to go to CT? When DBF's boss called tonight he asked me to see if he wanted to go to CT tomorrow...I said- umm how about tomorrow when he finally wakes up I'll ask him.

I dont mind the storms too much when he's out in them during daylight. But at night, when the ground man is holding a flash light up so he can see where to cut...those bother me! Of course, he's probably dreaming right now of dollar signs...doesnt bother him a bit. 75 feet in the air, 50mph wind gusts...no way would do it...Thankfully last night he called every couple hours to let me know he was okay....its worse when he doesnt have cell coverage! Then, I freak!

Just wanted to say I am sure what your DBF does is appreciated. I am down here in S. Florida and after 3 extended power outages last year and the year before from hurricanes I appreciate the power alot more. I do have to say I have more respect for the visiting electric companies than FPL ~ they actually put power back to my line when the line wasn't even connected to the house ~ then had the nerve to tell me to just stay away from it and that they couldn't tell me how long it would take for someone to come out!! Luckly a crew from Ohio was down the street the next day and got it taken care of ~ FPL still thinks there is a problem even after being told it has been fixed!! I couldn't imagine losing power in the winter up north. Hope you DBF stays safe!!
