I don't have Guillain-Barre, but...

You're in my prayers, Diane. I hope that they find the cause and cure very quickly.

Feel better {{HUGS}}

Well, I'm glad it's not GB and it's more info than you had before. Still sending lots of good thoughts and prayers for a speedy dx and recovery for you. :Pinkbounc

I hope they find out for sure what's wrong soon so they can treat you for it quickly, Diane. Did they give you anyting for the neck pain?

Hi Diane - so glad to hear it's not G-B, but how unsettling for you not to have specific answers. Hopefully the appointments you have coming up will give those to you. Sending lots of good thoughts your way.

On a side note, I will also be at WDW for a short stay at the end of August, as a tag-a-long with a friend and her DD. Hopefully we will run into each other...let me know if I have to watch out for some crazy lady driving an ECV! :eek:

I am glad you going to see a neurologist. I am a RN and has worked as a nueroscience RN for a long time. There many different neurological syndromes out there . you said C5 -C6 damage. correct? The symptoms of a C5- C6 damage can be numbess/ pain in the hands or arms. I do not undestand the blood test for "hemidiaphram". Your diaphram is control by the the Vagus nerve which is C-10. I hope you neurologist is good. They should do some specific blood tests.. A MRI, CT scan EMG, Dopplers, .. at the very least. Are you on any steriods? By the way.. for info.. Guillen Barre is definatley curable. it is just takes time.
Actually, my typing this morning got confusing. The hemdiaphragm was not a blood test. They did an X-ray and CT to diagnose that. It IS what is causing my shortness of breath though. The blood tests that caused concern were a high platlet count and a low Creatine/kinase. I do know that both of those can be alarms for tumors, as can the elevated hemidiaphragm, but the CT scan did not show any tumor. There was a small amount of pericardial fluid.

I was a bit confused ... I hope the doctors can pinpoint the reason for your condition.

((((hugs))))))) Diane,
Hoping you get some answers soon!
