I don't get why Disney doesn't offer longer cruises...

We've done other long cruises, on other lines - 28 night Hawaii/Tahiti and 21 night Panama Canal, both on HAL. Also have a 35 day Boston/Rotterdam B2B upcoming

What year? Ours was actually a 10 night Med B2B with 14 night WBTA, in 2010.
WOW!

I'm curious how you liked HAL? I used to work for them a few years back and had the chance to do a couple fam trips but never took an actual cruise with them

We like HAL. Most especially the longer, special cruises. They've been going through some "growing pains" since the pandemic, and did some really stupid stuff like eliminating all production shows, and removing Lincoln Center Stage. But recently, on some longer cruises, have been putting (different) production shows back onboard.

I'm glad you enjoyed it, and I agree they seem to have bumped their collective heads during Covid. We likely won't be trying them anytime soon since we still have kids at home and their "kids programming" is kinda laughable, but we did consider them for a couples-only trip last year but ultimately decided against it. I appreciate your insight

I don't think I clearly articulated what I meant..

They don't have a single cruise that I can find that is 6-7nights that stops at both castaway cay and lighthouse point in spring 2026.

But that could really just be a me thing..
I booked B2B on Fantasy April 27th and May 1st 2026, first cruise is 4 days and stops at Lookout Cay and the second cruise is 3 nights and stops at Castaway. I made my own 7 night with both stops. I do B2B all the time to get longer cruises. Also bonus you get two cruise credits for loyalty program if that's important too you. And yes I do believe you are spot on you will fall in love with DCL.

I'm late to this thread but agree with the OP that with the newly released cruises there are really a lack of 7 night cruises. We much prefer 7 nights or more but are tied to school holidays and for those restrictions we are limited to Alaska or the Treasure out of Port Canaveral. With the addition of more ships I wish they would add more 7 night cruises.

I took a 15 night cruise on Princess back in 2018, and honestly, by day 12, I was ready to go back to work. We have done a few of the 3 night cruises, and they are just nice extended weekends. But we have also done 7 nights and they are nice as well. Both serve different functions.

I don’t remember anyone mentioning the 10 night eastern on the magic in July of 2025. I would love to go on that one but feel like it’s overpriced, veranda is over $12,000.00 for 2 people. Anyone have any input on that cruise??
Already spending big bucks for the treasure in April 2025.

I cruised the Southern Caribbean, solo, interior, for 14 nights on NCL Jade in Dec for under $1300. (Not quite $100/ nt.)

Ten nights solo, interior in DCL would be over $7K. (> $700/ nt)

I could have added an extra DCL Bahamas CC + LC cruise and still come out ahead.

So, I would say it’s overpriced. Our 8-night S Caribbean out of SJuan on Magic was under $4K for two, GTY, OV.

I doubt I will ever pay that much per night for a cruise. And maybe I did for one night in a 2-bedroom unit at Aulani.

As for the cruise itself, CC & LC appeal to me.

I really like San Juan. Easy to do on your own terms.

St Kitts - I intentionally went to a UNESCO World Heritage Site (it reminded me of Hawaii - who knew! But it is also a volcano- formed island) on a day trip that also included beach time at Frigate Bay. The water was warm and relaxing.

St John’s, Antigua - more English history and a UNESCO site. Beautiful views. Probably should have done the w/beach version - they have 365 of those beauties.

Tortola - Jost Van Dyke, beaches, views of the USVI. And The Baths!

I am lukewarm on these ports. I think I prefer the ABC (Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao) islands over Eastern Caribbean. Not to say they are bad.

I'll be on the 10 night Southern on the Fantasy a week from today and can let you know what I think. It's going to Tortola, Antigua, St Lucia, Domica, and both of Disney's islands. Yes, it's a little more (I paid $9,400 for a midship verandah for 2) but I've never done over a 7 night on DCL and also couldn't miss the chance to go to both if Disney's islands.

I finally had some time to plan out our next cruise and was looking through the schedule. Pretty clear that DCL is moving away from 7-day cruises. Presumably the 3/4/5 generate more income.

- San Diego (and previously Los Angeles) use to be primarily 7-day but had moved to mix of 3, 4, 5 and 7 in recent year. In 2026, everything is 3/4 days, with a single 7 day offered. It takes 5 days to reach Cabo so naturally the current itineraries (Ensenada and Catalina) are unappealing.

- Southern Carribean from San Juan have been offered for years in May and October. These are almost entirely 7 nights. Next year, May is being skipped.

- Galveston is two-thirds 4-night cruises. The rest are mostly 5-night - there’s four 6-night and two 7-night scheduled. Galveston/ New Orleans had a handful more 6 and 7 night scheduled.

Maybe they are trying to speedrun through passenger count agreements for different ports to allow them to expand their horizons further.

.
I think my mom took 5 cruises on other lines out of LA to that included Catalina, and Ensenada or Cabo. Catalina was the only port she got off the ship. Never stepped foot on Mexican soil. I hope to do a Catalina cruise some day.
