I don't get it.

I have a friend that is a complete moron when it comes to music. He is under the impression that if it's old/classic/ect., it sucks.




He hated the Stones at the Superbowl. He said they sounded terrible.

He hated McCartney last year. I think he was better than the Stones.

He makes fun of me for listening to Elivs, Skid Row, Motley Crue, Van Halen, ect.

Bascially his timeframe is like, two years. After that, it's just terrible because its, "old".




I just don't get how people can say that. I mean, I listen to music because I like it. Not because of how old it is. I dunno. Anybody else have friends like me?

no i dont think so... i like certain old music but if it was played too much then i prolly wouldnt like it again for another like 2 years again.(idk if that made sence sorry)

I just don't like it because he is under the impression that that is ALL I listen to. If he were to open up my iTunes thingy, and look at a playlist I have of stuff I'm planning to buy, he would see a long list full of Limp Bizkit, HIM, Blink-182, Franz Ferdinand, Linkin Park, P.O.D., Alter Bridge, Godsmack, Seether, Disturbed, Rob Zombie, Soil, All-American Rejects, Alien Ant Farm, 3 Doors Down.......

Some of the best music is older. I love alot of "old" things, and alot of what I listen to is "old" some of the best songs ever written are years and years old. My favorite piece of music is hundreds of years old. (fur elise, beethoven)

Beethoven pumped out some great music. So did Bach. I'm actually thinking about buying some of it, putting it on my iPod, and listining to it around him just to tick him off.

I have to thank my grade-school music teacher for that. He got me into that sort of stuff.

I'm one of the few people I know that can go down the the Detroit Opera House, listen to the Orchestra, and enjoy it.

I don't actually live in the city. About an hour outside of it.

It was funny though, when I went in the 4th grade, we were walking up to it, and it looked like it was about to fall apart. I was joking with the kid infront of me in line that we would walk in, and bricks and such would start to fall down.

We walked in and the place looked like Buckingham Palace or something.

my grade school music teachers really taught me to love music. They would play different stuff every day. One day they would play beethoven the next creed. It taught us to liek different kinds of music, and to appreciate all music. The teacher I had in 5th grade taught me her love of percussion. (she was a drummer) and the one before her taught me guitar and piano.

Then after that I had a band director. I hated him, but he still taught me alot. I haven't played in years, btu I can still pick up a clarinet and play most htings you hand me.

can you play anything other than recorder? I can play a clarinet, guitar (electric and acoustic) and a TINY bit of percussion and piano.

I would actually love to be the lead singer in a band. Start off playing covers, then write my own stuff.

I can write songs, but I'd rather have someone else sing them. I also write the music to my songs.
