Either way, I think that the "middle aged" comment didn't have to be made, even if it is true. Like someone else said, it just sounds like she had her panties all in a twist and was being rude. Or at least, she could have chosen her words MUCH more carefully!
I'm 44 now, and to be honest, I've never really put ANY thought into whether I am "middle aged" until now. But I guess I am. I deal more now with my husband who thinks that at age 44 (like me), he's "old". Now THAT I strongly disagree with and am not afraid to tell him so!
