I didn't think it was abig deal, you only choked once!! Update 9/18 final thoughts

Aww you guys doubled! How cute! Happy belated birthday Dawn! That must have been a fun way to spend the day, visiting the Mouse and everything! :thumbsup2 My family would LOVE the Henry Ford area. Looks great!

Yep it was a birthday double date. Actually Dale and I both really like Josh so the 4 of us spend a good amount of time together :)

Thank you! It was a fun day!

sounds like a fun day! Great getting to see caitlin's BF as well :) all of your pics are really cute :) i have never been much of a baseball person but i have always wanted to go to a baseball game. My high school senior class had a class trip to a cubs game but i couldn't go because of ballet class so i was really sad about that! :(

It was thanks! I thought it worked out well to introduce Josh since he'll be a big part of the next tr.

None of us are big sports fans. I follow the Tigers in the rankings but I rarely watch a game on tv. I enjoy going to a game about once a year. It's fun and you should try it sometime!

Morning Dawn... I see I'm not the only one up early! :)

Looks like you had a fun birthday! Happy belated birthday! I just looked through all the photos on FB and was wondering where you went. The Ford area looks like a lot of fun to walk around - reminds me a little bit of Colonial Williamsburg in a way. I love that historical stuff, especially that sign that says "Watch the Fords go by." Looks like the new boy is fitting in so far - hope he likes Disney just as much!

I did thank you! Greenfield Village is a lot like Williamsburg except that it isn't limited to just one era. There are homes from various historical times.

The new guy is great and it feels like he's been around forever :)

Looks like you guys had fun! They have the Brewers Mickey like that at Miller Park too. Next time we go to a game I am going to have to see if they have any of those Mickey pins! So cute.

Oh, and those dancers totally made me think of Main Street USA. hehe

We did :)

They had about 4 different Disney pins but the one pictured is the one Caitlin got. She's hoping to collect them all since she loves her Disney pins. Hope you find them at your ballpark!

I was way back on race day! Yikes! I thought I was more up to speed here than that! :sad2:

What a shame about the race not being up to Disney standards! Have you read similar opinions about the previous years? But, you had an AWESOME time! Wow!! 35 minutes including the obstacles, that is fantastic! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Congratulations to Caitlin on getting 1st runner up at the beauty pageant...but I have to agree, your "consolation prize" of your new DBF Josh is better! I saw pics of you two on Facebook, you make an adorable couple, he sounds like a real keeper too--your parents like him AND he's a Disney fan already!! :goodvibes Your August trip will be fantastic!

And a Happy belated Birthday to Dawn! I believe I sent you a note on Facebook (which I manage to stay at least sort of caught up on!). Sounds like you had a wonderful day! I had two friends bike from Minnesota to NYC (craZy but true!) and they stayed quite a long time in Detroit because they liked it so much. They met many wonderful people and raved about the community-feeling that Detroit has.

Glad you're all caught up :)

I hadn't read anything about the race prior to doing it. Caitlin had done the princess 5k and had a great experience and she'd read several tr's that did the marathon so we thought it would be great. But with the refund and we did get the right size shirt in the mail a few weeks ago and the pin so it's all good.

Caitlin says "thank you". And although getting the crown a 2nd time would have been nice, Josh was better. You're right he is a keeper. He is the first guy she'd ever dated that Dale actually likes rather than tolerates :rotfl:

Thank you again for the birthday wishes! Wow Minnesota to NYC?! I'm glad to hear your friends enjoyed Detroit. Every major city has good and bad but the media tends to focus on the bad especially in Detroit.

Happy Birthday Dawn!!!!!

Glad to hear about your wonderful day!! The game looked like fun, I love to go to Comerica Park. we always seem to go when it is a million degrees out too! My son is going tomorrow with his 'little brother', he is a mentor in the Big Brothers program. I tried to get him to take me, but now that it is so hot out, I will not be so sad. lol My girls and I are actually going to see Winnie the Pooh tomorrow, we are going to eat popcorn for dinner lol. I am excited they will go with me, I told them lets pretend we are in Disney watching it. lol The movie will be a nice wholesome movie, can't say that for most movies anymore! Looking forward to the next update :yay:

Thank you!

How wonderful that your son is a Big Brother! I hope they have fun at the game and drink lots of water!

You'll have to let us know how Pooh is! I've been debating going to see it. Popcorn for dinner sounds yummy! Have fun!

Yay someone is excited about Pooh too!! lol My friends think I've lost my mind. In my defense the last 2 movies I saw were Bridesmaids and Hangover 2. lol So there. I have my dignity back. :rotfl2: (I so much prefer POOH!!)

Oh and thanks for the compliment about my son. He is a great young man, I am very proud of him. He was one of 40 that was accepted into the Nursing Program at WSU. He never ceases to amaze me. I will wait patiently on the super long waiting list at HFCC for the NP, that school is more affordable for me. lol

I still love disney though :)

Have you seen Harry yet? Dale, Caitlin and I were all HUGE fans of the books. We did all the midnight runs to buy them. However, I wasn't a fan of any of the movies and gave up after the first couple didn't measure up IMO to the books. So I've been curious ifthe last one measures up...

Yeah I did :) I went to the midnight show thursday night/friday morning. I absolutely loved yet was super sad because it was the last one so no matter what i was going to be disappointed it was over. The crowd that was at the midnight showing with us was super crazy and fun and i loved it! The people behind us dressed like the harry, ron and hermione in the potter puppet pals video online so it was really funny that way :) someone also came dressed as you know who and people were lining up to take pics with him :) That being said this movie was really, really, really good! I could have asked for a better experience really. it was a great way to go out on a great 10 years of movies and 11 years total in the harry potter world. I also read all the books but i didn't start reading the books untill i was in thrid grade (the first movie came out when i was in 4th grade). Have you gone to the wizarding world yet? even just being fans of the books i think you guys would still enjoy it. the world is so realistic and detailed and includes the best parts of the world without all the evil. it was wonderful!

I'm so glad you enjoyed the movie! It sounds like a fun night :)
We are thinking of going to WWoHP during our 2012 Disney visit. Caitlin and I had talked about going on our trip next month but decided we should wait til her dad was with us. Now he is coming but with this being Josh's first trip we just don't have enough time to do everything. We do look forward to eventually seeing it :)

Just caught up - the changes to your August trip are great! Sounds like a fun trip! :) Happy Belated Birthday Dawn! :) The WWOHP is great - we loved visiting. The Forbidden Journey ride is great and I loved all the shops and butterbeer! :)
