Thank you! I always think of you and Jasmine when I am in Canada

I had them some place I had never heard of people having chocolate covered strawberries at and they are amazing! I tried something else later in the trip that I think you or Jasmine need to get! It was amazing and seriously one of the best snacks I ever had.

I have heard that the icing is a bit much on the cupcakes so I never tried one but what I did end up trying after the strawberries was amazing!

Brad and I ended up getting three things to share from that store. We got the chocolate caramel cookie, the chocolate covered caramel and I don't remember exactly what the last one was, but it looked like just a piece of caramel. I think there might have been chocolate underneath it, but anyway, they were all really good! :cloud9:

Can't wait to read more, especially race day! ;)

I could have been content just looking at the food  everything just looked so delicious! Although I had to stop there more than once just to try one of the other things I had my eye on :rolleyes1

Race day should be coming up soon!

Oh, I doubt that very much... you're going to stand there with your mouth watering, then walk away with a smile on your face and your stomach grumbling for chocolate? I don't think so! :rotfl:

haha, gotta love that Disney adrenaline! Looks like a great night at Epcot. I'm kind of sad they didn't have the Mater topiary when we were there...it was just Lightning McQueen. Oh well.

Cute pins!

Well I forgot to add if I had already eaten and wasn't hungry but thought I could get back there later ;)

Definitely I wish I had that adrenaline at home

It was a great night!

Aw! Too bad it wasn't there it was really cool to look at! We also went right before Pixar weekends though.

Thank you!

Hi All! Hope you're all enjoying your weekend! Time for another update....

When Caitlin left off it was around 12:30 and I had just gotten into bed and she was frantically searching the luggage for the camera charger. I knew I had packed it (we both remembered having a conversation about it the day before) and assured her we'd find it in the morning but we needed sleep. NOW. Afterall, we had a 7:30 adr and it would be race day! I needed to sleep. And I did. I think she quit looking and went to bed soon after. For a few hours anyway :rolleyes1 You see at 4:30 (yes 4:30!!) I woke up to the sounds of her once again searching the luggage for her charger. I was of course thrilled by this  I then got up and looked for it and I too had no luck. UH-OH! I knew I had packed it so I texted Dale at home (I knew he'd be up and getting ready for work) and asked if he'd seen the charger. He responded "yep you packed it in my camera bag". Yep, the camera bag that would be arriving with him TOMORROW!

Now you've seen how many pictures Caitlin took that first day, so you can imagine how this news went over with her. (putting a positive spin on the situation it probably means I'll never have to do her packing again ) Anyway, I told her we'd go to the hotel store before breakfast and pick up a disposable camera and have the pics put on a cd so our trip report wouldn't miss a day. (See we're always thinking of you guys ) Caitlin wasn't too thrilled about this but since we had no alternatives that was the new plan. We each got back in our beds and tried to go back to sleep, it was only 5am afterall, but no such luck. Yep, on race day I was going on only 4 hours sleep.

At 6 we got up and got dressed and by 6:45 we were in a cab headed to the Beach Club. We prefer to take cabs for early adrs so we can get there in the shortest time possible. The cab ride was $14 with tip so not too bad. We ended up arriving way too early as it turned out that Cape May doesn't open until 7:30. So we went over to the gift shop and bought a disposable camera for the ridiculously high price of $20. For 30 pics! Crazy right, but since we were stuck it had to do. While we were there Caitlin traded a vinylmation for one she had been wanting. Prince Naveen is such a cutie!
mobile14.jpg

We bought the camera and headed back to Cape May and we were seated right at 7:30 for our 7:40 adr. We were immediately welcomed by our server and quickly headed to the buffet. The breakfast buffet here is one of our favorites because it's usually not very busy and the buffet is enormous! YUM!
We filled our plates with a variety of foods and of course the requisite Mickey waffles and as soon as we sat down we were paid a visit by this fella
037_37.jpg

I love how the characters here are dressed for the beach! So cute!

Next up was Minnie

followed by Caitlin's favorite

We enjoyed our breakfast and the character interaction and by 8 we were paid and out on the dock waiting for a boat to DHS! If you've been on our other TR's you know how much we love this area! It was so nice to be back after our fabulous visit last August!
mobile13.jpg

After about 10 minutes the boat arrived and we arrived at DHS at 8:30. EMH was halfway over but we still made it before the crowds were let in so it was all good. Of course we were immediately heading for TSM to get our FP but on the way Caitlin spotted this
032_32.jpg

Now is that new or has it just never caught our eye before? I'm not sure but it reminded her of the one at the grocery store when she was little and she had to have a picture!

When we got to TSM the fp wait time was already 12:40! During EMH! I couldn't believe it! Since the TSM line was already huge we decided that it was a good time for Caitlin to ride ToT and RnRC.
mobile11.jpg

While she hit those rides, I did some people watching and some shopping. I saw this hat and loved it so I picked it up as a surprise for Dale
disneyday3071.jpg

Caitlin did some shopping too before we met back up and she picked up this cute sweatshirt

(the circles are cut out holes)

When we met back up we decided to pay the Muppets a visit since we had missed them in August. As we entered we found the key under the mat (hidden magic if you're unfamiliar with it) and ended up with seats very close to the front. We thought the detailing on the stage was interesting because we never noticed the bunny decor as we usually sit further back. We enjoyed the corny movie but we still wish they'd make a new one.

After the movie we decided to head over to One Man's Dream. On the way Caitlin had to stop for a pic at the Idol area. Here she is with her best Scotty (notice the "microphone" to the side") pose....
031_31.jpg

After the pic we walked through One Man's Dream but didn't stay for the movie. We then thought we'd head over to Star Tours and see if they were having a soft opening. As we neared Star Tours Caitlin suddenly let out a shriek! She about scared the heck out of me and I had no idea what caused her reaction. Then she pointed and ran for a character line. Chewbacca was out! She was so excited and got in line only to be told "this line is closed". She was so bummed! She asked his CM when he'd be back and was told "I don't know". Grrr! Being the resourceful girl she is she kept going to various CMs until someone said he'd be back after the next Jedi Training show. Rather than risk missing him we stayed in that area and waited. And waited. And waited. As we waited we met a 20something couple who were also waiting on Chewie and a family with 2 boys. We devised a plan that we'd all watch different areas and make sure that wherever Chewie posed for pics we'd make sure all 3 groups would save a place for the others. After about half an hour some Star Wars female characters appeared and Caitlin and the others got pics with them

028_28.jpg

This one was kind of scary
027_27.jpg

Finally Chewie came out and we were first in line, followed by our new friends.

We had a great time with these meet and greets and it totally sold us that we must visit during Star Wars Weekends sometime!

At this point it was lunch time and we had an adr at the 50's Primetime Cafe. We hadn't been there in a couple years so we were looking forward to it.

mobile10.jpg

We were seated as soon as we entered and I ordered a coke while Caitlin ordered this
023_23.jpg

She loved it but it was far too much for one person and there was no way she could finish. We ordered the fried chicken meal to share which came with 4 pieces of chicken (!) and 2 sides. We got 2 side of mashed potatos so we could each have one. The chicken pieces were huge and we could each only eat a single piece. That meant that 2 pieces were left on her plate when our "aunt" came back. It also meant Caitlin was in trouble for not cleaning her plate. Our "aunt" cut a piece of chicken and made everyone in the room make choochoo sounds as she fed Caitlin. It was hilarious! She was so embarassed! Unfortunately the camera was in her purse so I didn't get a pic  We really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food at the 50's and give it a big thumbs up! The portions are huge and the prices aren't bad so it's a great choice if you're paying oop!

After our meal it was finally time to use our fast passes so we hit up TSM where I was the victor

It was then time to head out as we needed to get over to registration for the big race......but we'll save that for next time :)

Enjoyed your report! Haven't been to 50's in so long. My daughter is curious about how many pins you bring with you, and which ebay seller do you get them from? She loves pins and is excited to do more trading this coming trip!

You took those pictures with a disposable camera????? Really?????? They turned out great. I'm sure you edited them, but still. :worship:

Caitlin and Chewy is hysterical. He towers over her. Very funny. And the horse? I've never seen that either.

CMC - definitely my favorite character breakfast.

Race registration! WOOT! It's getting closer!!!!!

I am also quite absent minded with camera batteries (like the one I had in my camera bag all along, but went back to BLT to retrieve ;)) I also got to Gettysburg last weekend and realized by battery must have fallen right out of my camera bag when I took it off the shelf. I could not find a best buy within 25 miles. :sad2:

I almost forget......:lmao:....to the Scotty pose. Still upset that he won since I really wanted Lauren.

I love how chewie just ENGULFED Caitlin! LOL .. I was like wait, where is she?! For some reason I've never been too interested in 50's prime time, but I guess I should try it at least once. I always choose Sci-Fi because I just love the atmosphere.

That was soooo cool that you got SW chars on a non-SWW.
Mom and Princess didn't see any so they're bummed now.

We can't wait to get those Chewie :chewy: pics this weekend while we're there!
That and Jedi Mickey with R2-MK are at the top of our list!
But it looks like Zam Wessel and Aurra Sing really scared Caitlin! :scared1:

Thank you

We hadn't been to the 50's since Dec.2008 so it was nice to go back and we were pleasantly surprised by how much we liked it :)

I'm not sure about the pin questions so I'll let Caitlin answer that next time she's on.

I was very happy with how well the pictures came out on the disposable camera. We don't use photoshop or anything, I guess we're too lazy, we just upload our pics and use them as is so I'm glad you liked them :)

She looked so tiny next to Chewie it was hilarious!

Then the horse must be new. I kept thinking how did we never notice this

Yep the race is getting closer and what an adventure that was :rolleyes1

Camera batteries what a hassle huh?

He grabbed her for a hug and she just disappeared

The 50's was a lot of fun for everyone that was there. The atmosphere was really lively and all the waitstaff seemed really into their "roles" :thumbsup2

Before our trip I had read that the characters do practice meet and greets prior to Star Wars Weekends so we were on the look out for any special characters. I'm sorry your girls didn't catch them!

You guys are going to have a blast! I can't wait to hear all about it!

So those are the names of those girls? We just called the one "female Boba Fett" and didn't know who or what the other one was  They were a lot of fun though :)

You see at 4:30 (yes 4:30!!) I woke up to the sounds of her once again searching the luggage for her charger. I was of course thrilled by this

Aren't kids wonderful? :rolleyes1

Actually, it's not the price that caught my eye but the number of pics. 30? That would normally last only the first few seconds of the day wouldn't it?

I love how the characters here are dressed for the beach! So cute!

Yes she is... and Goofy's not bad too! :goodvibes

And she wonders why some people mistake her for a little kid? Hmmm.... there must be some reason... nope. Can't figure it out. :lmao:

As we neared Star Tours Caitlin suddenly let out a shriek! She about scared the heck out of me

Yup, that would do it.

Where's Caitlin? Didn't she want a pic of her and Chewie?

:lmao: That is too funny! How red was Caitlin? We've never been to Prime Time, we'll have to go there instead of Sci Fi next time.

After our meal it was finally time to use our fast passes so we hit up TSM where I was the victor

Way to go! Can't let them youngsters think they're all that and a bag of chips now, can ya? Great update! Can't wait for the next one! :goodvibes

I agree with the previous poster, I'm amazed that those pictures come from a disposable camera! They came out great!

I love the Cape May pictures! Reading about it in your trip reports has put it on my list for our Honeymoon! We want to stay at the Beach Club for the last few nights and we're excited to try Cape May!

Aren't kids wonderful? :rolleyes1

Your post cracked me up!

You asked if the lack of sleep affected my race time.....I bet it did! I bet I would have been sooooo much faster if I had more sleep! Thanks for the idea, that's my new story and I'm sticking to it :rotfl:

Having to limit her picture taking to 30 nearly drove her crazy! :lmao:

Caitlin was so red when she was being fed by the waitress! Afterward she told me that she knew they sometimes do things like that but since her leftover pieces were a leg and a wing she thought she was safe  Primetime is a lot of fun and worth at least one visit :thumbsup2

Thanks! When it comes to games we are very competitive so I was quite proud to have won the first TSM game of our vacation:)
