...but dh did. I found the food too weird and cold. We're going back to WDW in May. I know he'd like to go there. Do you think Jiko would be something we would both like? I'm not big on buffets. (and I'm not sure if we can even get reservations.) The other thing I was thinking Boma for breakfast, but not sure if it's any different from any other breakfast buffet?

Sorry you didn't like it. My family ate there in 2004 and my DM said she didn't like it. She couldn't remember why. I was finally able to convince her to try it again last Sept., and this time she said she liked it. :goodvibes

I wish I could tell you about breakfast there, on Jiko, but we haven't done either.

Breakfast at Boma is the best breakfast I've had at WDW:thumbsup2

They do have some different things, but they have made to order omelets that were so incredible, lots of cereal and regular breakfast and great juice.

You can find the breakfast menu on www.allears.net just go under search then type in menus and you will see all the menus in WDW rests!

me and DBF ate at boma for breakfast last august and it was very nice we both enjoyed it. ::MinnieMo ::MickeyMo

BOMA and JIKO are two completely different experiences. JIKO is definitely one of the most upscale restaurants on property. Dinner will take at least 90 minutes, maybe longer. We were just there on a slow night in January and dinner took at least 2 hours. Not a lot of children dine here but there are some who are well behaved. The atmosphere is dark, intimate, outstanding wine list. The entrees are not all that unusual, perhaps a bit spicier than average but nothing "weird". The appetizers are very interesting and where you will definitely get that unique food if that's what you are looking for.

JIKO is one of our favorites and one of the places we go for that all-adult romantic evening feel. We also enjoy BOMA a great deal but as you know, nothing adult or intimate feeling about it at all.

We ate at both Jiko and Boma. Jiko is the better of the two. While Boma has some nice options and an interesting atmosphere, the "zaniness" of a buffet can make the experience negative. Jiko is pretty amazing. The food was spectacular and the service wonderful. It is worth a trip if you have not been. The little bar inside Jiko is quite nice, too.

We've had breakfast and dinner at Boma, and dinner at Jiko. Here are my feelings on all of them:

I would definitely travel to AKL to dine at Jiko again, even if I wasn't staying at AKL.

I wouldn't dine at Boma again unless I was staying at AKL; I would DEFINITELY have breakfast at Boma again (IF I were staying there), but I wouldn't necessarily have dinner at Boma again.

We have always loved it there. Took family of ten last year and they also loved it there.

Blasphemy!!!!:rotfl: Actually,I can understand why you didn't like it. Some of the foods can be a bit "different". I love it though. I only go there on Wednesday or Saturday when they have the ribs.

We don't like buffets, either. We ate at Boma once and wouldn't go back. We love Jiko, however. It's an entirely different experience.

My boyfriend didn't like Boma either, but I liked it. Both my mom and sister liked it when they went down. Everyone has different tastes and all that jazz.

We did not care for Boma dinner. But we LOVED Boma breakfast. We had made-to-order omelets and also their special juice they make.

Gosh...I hope we like Boma...we're staying at AKL for ten days and we are doing breakfast twice and dinner once! Mostly out of convenience...AKL is kind of far off the beaten path!

I've heard great things about both breakfast and dinner...It will be an adventure either way!!!

:goodvibes

I'm glad we are not the only ones! Everyone raves about Boma and we really didn't like it when we went last year. Good luck!

Call me a Boma partisan. I love the place though I wish I could remember the name of the food I ate. Went there in 2003 and 2007 and it was one of the highlights of my Disney trip. Can't wait to go back there on my next Disney trip (May 17-25, 2008.) :lovestruc

Man, this is my one regret about our last trip... We had ressies for Boma's breakfast, but one thing lead to another and we cancelled (it was for our last day- very early- and we were exhausted. Almost JUST took my little sister and me- but then decided not to...).

I'm really excited about trying Boma next time we're there. Jiko- maybe we'll try there sooner or later as well!

We aren't crazy about it either. It's definitely over rated. It's like a wanna-be restaurant trying to be exotic, yet not quite cutting it.

I can't believe you didnt like Boma. My husband and I love it. As far as Jiko I liked it but my husband didnt. We ate there April 2005. We are going to try Jiko again for our 3 yr anniversary this April.
