Thanks to all you Pilates people!!!! You gave me the boost I needed to take the cellophane off the 20 minute workout tape. Man, that was great! I even broke a sweat (ha ha!) ;) It was over before I knew it. I am going to do that one at least three times a week!

I followed it up with lunges and squats. I feel so great right now! Woo-hoo!

Thanks, everyone!

Karen- that is AWESOME!!!! I love the Pilates!!!! Try to do it 3-5 days a week and in about 3 weeks you will really see a difference!!!!!! :)
Good luck!

That's so great, Karen!!!! I really enjoy the pilates 20 minute workout. You are right - it goes sooooo fast! I did the 20 minute workout and a very short portion of the advanced workout last night, and I wasn't even sore!! I hope that is a good sign. ;)

Keep it up!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations Karen!! I had the tapes forever before I started to use them and now I can't stop. Once you do the 20 min workout and realize how quickly it goes by but how much it works - you'll be hooked as well!! Keep it up!

Ok got my walking routing down. Even added some hand weights and crunches. So do you think I am ready to try my Pilates DVD?? I may try it tomorow!!!! Oh boy last time I tried it it was so HARD!!!!!!

Good for you.

I am waiting for them to arrive in the mail. I wish I had known I could go to Target and get them. I would have had excuse to go there.

I can't wait for them to show up. I think I will probably have some questions since I have never done that type of excerise before.

It only takes 20 minutes to do the basic?

Jiminy102,
Yes it is hard, but just follow Dagney as she modifies the movements. I still have WAY too much around the middle to be able to bend like those women do, but I can still feel my abs, under there somewhere ;), working. You can do it!!!!!!

Cthia,
It really only takes 20 minutes to do the basic. In fact, it seems like less than 20 minutes!! Mari talks in such a slow and controlled way, and she has us moving in such a slow and controlled way that I am still surprised when we are finished! I hope you like your set. Did you get the the 3 dvd set, similar to Target's? If so, watch the introduction to the Basics dvd. All of the movements are explained and demonstrated there.

Now suck that bellybutton into your spine!!! :teeth:

Good for you TIGH....I have been wondering about those tapes. Can you explain what it is like? I have heard so much about these tapes....

Karen! What an accomplishment. I'm proud of you. Isn't it a great feeling to actually get busy and do something like this? Good job!

Thanks to all you Pilates people!!!! You gave me the boost I needed to take the cellophane off the 20 minute workout tape.

Is that why my Leslie Sansone walk away the pounds tape doesn't 'work' for me? I guess I better take the cellophane off!;)

I WILL walk this week --- I WILL walk this week!
:D

I love Pilates and I have just started using the WATP tapes....now to put the two together...that should be a great way to get my workouts in! :)

Jody~ Take off the celophane! You can do it!

Karen~ Keep it up! :) You are doing great!

Jiminy~ just modify the movements...something is better than nothing...it took me a few weeks of sticking to it to feel like I could do some of the moves....you can do it! :)

Thanks for all the support, you guys! I really feel it in my stomach today, but it is a good feeling! I think I will try doing it 3-5 times a week since it is a quick workout! :) I want to perfect the moves too. I can do them pretty much like the people on the tape, but not with the same grace (yet!)

Glo, I can't really describe this. The tapes I have are Winsor Pilates and it seems to focus on strengthening your stomach area so that your back is supported. It's not like crunches at all. It's very gentle, but challenging because you have to hold certain positions and be very conscious of your breathing and keeping your body aligned a certain way. The 20 minutes went by so fast!!! You also do some leg movements that help strengthen your tummy and (I hope!) sculpt your bum/legs. :) I can send you my intro tape if you want to try it! I won't need that one anymore.

Waytogo, Karen!!!!

I love the Mari Winsor tapes. The first time I watched it, I laughed and said, yeah like I will EVER be able to do that! Well I can! I don't do it as often as I should because Lola likes to exercise with me. Bad excuse and I will not let it stop me this week. You can REALLY feel the difference too!

First time I have ever bought anything from an infomercial and don't regret it for a minute!

I haven't given you the thumbs up in a while, and you really do deserve it! (Sorry to all, actually. I've been so busy, I have to kind of keep it short. I'm a bit long winded if you get me going, so I've been trying to be here on the boards as well as having a life:rolleyes: .) I love pilates! It's quick pace makes me feel like I've gotten the best bang for my effort. Yup, you feel it, but that just motivates me to do more. (Keep from tightening up!;) ) Enjoy!

Keep the Faith!
Tracy
