Sorry I haven't replied to your questions. I walked into work on Monday and found out we have mandatory overtime for the next 2 to 3 months. Now I am really counting down the days until I leave.
As far as booking the rooms (we needed 2). I wrote down in front of me all the times I have stayed at the Poly and years and what it costed me. I got on the phone and wheeled and dealed. If I didn't like the answer I thanked them for their time. I have to say one thing...I feel courtesy goes along way. I am nice and friendly to everyone and I usually get a pleasant respond back.
The first time I called the room was 325.00, the 2nd time it went down to 297.00, the 3rd time it went back up to 325.00. The fourth and finally time I asked for "Any specials", this guy put me on hold about 3 times (one time for about 15 minutes I almost hung up). He finally got back on the phone and he asked me if I wanted some "DISNEY MAGIC" I of course said yes and he came up with the finally price of 225.00 for 1st room and the second room he had to charge an additional $25.00 for the 3rd person. I said "BOOK THEM!!". But am confused why the 2nd room actually costed 253.00 instead of 250.00. I wasnt' going to agrue with 3.00 dollars difference.
He mentioned I got a discount on top of a discount and he did it for me because I had taken the time to wait on hold. While he was looking for certain rates and explaining what rate went with what code I asked what he was talking about. I never looked at mousesavers site. I also asked for information on the AP rates and would this be better for me. I felt he looked at all my options. All I know is I am happy. I wrote down what I would be willing to pay...........and I think this is the key word. You have to ask yourselfs what are you willing to pay at each resort. I have stayed on site about 5 times and last time I wasn't willing to stay at the Poly for 275.00 a night so I had to settle for the WL lodge.
Anyway.............time for supper.....good luck everyone with all your plans...and thanks for all your replies......see you in Disney on May 8 thru the 15th. Now off to eat and to the restaurants boards for planning.
