I did it!!! Upgraded to Poly GV Concierge!!!

I did it!!! I upgraded to Poly GV Concierge and am glad. I have stayed at the Poly before (only in the Tokelau bldg) and have never smelled anything, so I am going to take a chance. The worst thing that could happen is they would have to move us. Going May 8 thru the 15th so moving us shouldn't be that bad. I love the Poly and I know I will love the concierge. Just want to thank everyone for all their opinions and help. Greatly appreciated!!!

you have never smelled anything because you had stayed in tokealu...the different style of construction. Hawaii was the modular rooms....they are the ones that people are complaining about. However our family have stayed in both and can smell a difference...and our relatives have as well and said they couldnt. It depends if you have a sensativty to smells and/or allergies.

Great! I stayed in the Poly concierge this past December, and the staff there is just great. The food offerings in the lounge are also fabulous. Enjoy your trip!

I hope you enjoy it as much as we did. We want to stay in the Epcot resort area this Thanksgiving, but I know I'll be missing the Polynesian. The staff in the lounge was wonderful, especially the chef. I would go back in a heartbeat.

I think that you will enjoy the Poly very much and especially the extras in concierge. I think that I would enjoy any of the resorts but it's a treat to stay concierge if you want the splurge. As far as the "smell" goes, please don't be overly concerned. Perhaps it is all my years as a pediatric nurse but I must say that as far as odors are concerned, this is perfume compared to spending the day at the hospital. I think you're in for a super time and if you find yourself allergic(as some do) then by all means change your room. I wish I was there now!!

Thanks everyone for your encouraging words.......sometimes I wish I hadn't started reading these boards. The boards make me second guess my decisions and right now in my life with work problems and my fathers sudden heart attack and dying I sometimes can't cope.

Don't get me wrong please.........these boards are very helpful I just have to remind myself that everyones opinions are going to be different. I am just trying so hard for this family vacation to be wonderful without my dad being there. Trying to come up with special things.
