Ok, thanks to the replies and reviews i read here on the board, i finally decided to book a limo for us. I cancelled the van from Tiffany Towncar, which i have used every year for a towncar, but this year there are 5 of us, so we needed a van. I went with Southern Elegance Limos for our trip. It cost $180 RT, which they will charge my card 24 hours before i arrive. I will say, when i contacted various agencies, they always responded to my emails very quickly, and answered all my questions right away. they say that they will supply water and soft drinks, a 4 ft mickey to ride along with us, and a dvd movie to watch. I did ask about stopping at the main gate to get a picture like another place has, though they said there is not a guarantee, the driver will do their best to accomadate all that we want. I just hope the experience is as well as the email contacts i got from them, which i think they will be. They seemed to be one of the best prices and friendliest places to deal with.

Enjoy!!

We did a limo on our first family trip with DD at age 14 months. It was alot of fun and very relaxing. :teeth: Its also fun pulling up to your hotel in a limo!

It is a great idea! We tried a towncar on our first trip and do it every year. It is cheaper than Mears for the four of us and the kids love that they get to ride in style.....

I booked one for us, too. I even booked one from our house to the airport so that dh could relax from the second we leave the house- plus, we'll have something little to look forward to on the way home. (he doesn't know I got a limo- he thinks its a van)

(dh and I promised each other when we got married that every year on our anniversary we would hire a limo and go "out on the town". Ummm - well, this will be our first limo trip since our wedding 12 years ago! oh well, life happens)

Please post a trip report when you return. I'm very interested in reading more experiences with Southern Elegance. It seems more and more people are using them. Have a great trip!!!

We rented a limo for the first time for next month's trip. The comment about "pulling up to the hotel in a limo" made me think how nice it will be. Then I realized we requested a grocery stop! How dopey will we look pulling up to Publix (or wherever) in a limo?!

Ugh, just when I thought I had things figured out . . .

Yes, please write of your experiences when you return!!

I'm taking my parents to WDW (w/my 15 y.o. DS) next year and I'm pretty certain I'm going to try and swing having a limo pick us up. My DS and myself have always taken a towncar, but since there will be 4 of us w/4 suitcases I thought a limo would be pretty cool.

My parents really have never done anything for themselves (grown up as depression-era babies) and I want this trip to be as memorable as possible - for all of us.

Thanks!!

Jane
:wave2:

We booked a limo this trip (June 24-July 4) as well and LOVED it. My teenage DS and DD were SOOOOO excited. The pure luxury made the trip from WDW bearable(it's always sad to leave:( ). We paid $303 from Happy Limo to/from Sanford.
Your $180 rate is certainly good--I'm jealous. Will have to check it out next trip.
We will be using a limo again FOR SURE.:smooth:

Would a limo hold us all 6 adults and 3 children going from Sanford to Old Key West. How much should I expect to pay for a limo or would I need a stretch limo?

We used Southern Elegance in June and were very pleased. The price was the best we found and the service was unsurpassed. George was our driver and was so courteous. What really impressed me was the fact that I ended up making a major change to our flight schedule and they were so accomodating. The towncar we had was spotless and it is very obvious that they are picky about details...which I certainly appreciate.

Have fun! When we went in March (2 families), we surprised our families with a limo, and I think the kids still talk about that as much as anything ::yes:: And Southern Elegance is fabulous in every respect!

Another ::yes:: for Southern Elegance!!! They were awesome to work with and our kids LOVED the ride along Minnie and the DVD's along with the soda and water. DH and I loved the fact that we could listen to the radio while the kids watched the DVD! We also had George as our driver and he was amazing! The comp grocery stop was nice and the limo was clean. We got the best price on them and wouldn't hesitate using them again!

We, too, used Southern Elegance. Our trip was late Feb/early March. The driver was there waiting at the airport as promised. He was in a bit of a rush, as our bags were the last to come off the plane. He wasn't too keen on stopping at the grocery, but did. (we had requested it upon hiring their service)

The driver by no means was rude, you could read his face that he was rushed. So, my mother, husband and I split the grocery list on the ride to the store and all went in. We were able to get everything and check out in under 7 minutes. :)

We will certainly use the service again the next trip. The price on my dad's face when he saw the stuffed Goofy was priceless. :)

We surprised Dad and the kids with the limo and Goofy. My mom only got in on the secret, because I had to use her fax machine to have Southern Limo fax me something as my email was down. :(
