My MIL passed away last year. (And that's NOT my nice thing--I just realized how that sounded.) I wish I'd known her better--she lived in England so I've only met her once.
She raised four boys with impeccable manners. And she was very good to me. She led a very interesting life and I'm glad I had the chance to hear some of her stories before she passed away.
Now saying something nice about my EX MIL--THAT would take me a long time to come up with.
She was wonderful in every way, and I miss her being with us!
She welcomed me into the family right from the beginning. She and my FIL lived right next door to us, yet they were never the interfering type and we got along great. Loved her very, very much. Sadly, she passed away almost 7 years ago after a long, and extremely courageous battle with ALS. FIL remarried a year later, his wife is nice, but "it's just not the same."
See guys, you can do it. It drives me crazy all th e MIL vents. Geesh, if it weren't for her, you would not have your spouse.
My MIl is really sweet, I always send her a thank you card on DH's birthday and I think that I am her favorite DIL. Yes I sucked up, there was a lot of competition with 4 brothers.
I was going to post the same thing (except my DH isn't a father). She did raise a man who is probably the most caring and compassionate man I've ever known.
My MIL seemed like such a warm, caring, HAPPY person (decorations for EVERY holiday)...I wish I could have known her.
