My MIL has taken care of my children, two days a week while I work, for the last 8+ years. She has not asked for anything in return.

On Halloween she gave me $200 to use towards lawyers fee in the fight for my fathers estate.

She has given us a couple thousand dollars (when we were really down and out), and never expects to be repaid.

My MIL was the loveliest woman, unfortunately she died at the age of 52 when my son was only 9 months old. She never got to meet my daughter.

My MIL is super sweet and has always welcomed me with open arms. She loves me and I love her!

We are both teachers and we live a half block from each other...we go walking every morning in the summer.

Now that she stopped drinking, I really like my MIL. She is a wonderful flower arranger (she studied Icibana(?) while in Japan), she kicks butt at crosswords, and she is an awesome writer (short stories and character studies).
