I could use some reassurance that I'm just being silly

I don't know why, but I'm nervous about having Sienna go in to get spayed (which is next week). Moreso than I was about Blaze and Skye for their neutering. Probably nothing more than because she's the first girl I've had to speuter (my parents did our dogs and I just didn't worry about things back then) and spaying is so much more invasive than neutering. I'm not having an instinctive "you don't want to do this" thing, just nerves. Probably because we're getting so close to the time when we lost Sage last year. :(

Any reassurances?

Don't worry! I've been spayed and everything worked out fine. ;) ;)

She'll be fine, Raj. Truly.

Just think of how routine the procedure is. I know I've never heard of any cat or dog having complications from it.

My baby was spayed (a month too early, in fact, unbeknownst to us) and you've seen how great she is. Don't worry - I'm sure things will be fine! Kitty-cat hugs to you and your baby.

ROFL DD!!!

It will be ok Raj :) Its really the BEST thing for her. You know that.

:)

Think of how many cats have it done every day. Its very commonplace :)

You will be surprized about how non-invasive it can be... Just tiny incision with a few little stitches... your pet will be fine! :D

I can relate to your nervousness, Rajah. When I took my cats into be spayed, both at the same time, I drove them crazy at the vets, calling there every two minutes to see how they were. But they made out fine, just as your Sienna will. :)

(Helenabear and I were trying to think of Sienna's name this past week! I was close with Sierra! We could remember Blaze and Skye, but couldn't for the life of us remember baby Sienna's name - but I won't forget it now. Its so pretty!)

Sienna will be fine. And it's the right thing to do. :D

She'll be fine. I completely understand what you're feeling. I was a nervous wreck when Sam & Molly went in to have it done. :D

You were even closer than you thought -- we almost named her Sierra, but DH liked Sienna just a little more than Sierra. :) I liked both equally well. I've even slipped a time or so and called her Sierra instead of Sienna -- I think I was the only one who noticed ;)

Rajah you will probably have a rougher time than she will. Just give her lots of love and hugs and both of you will feel better.

I trust that she'll do well, RAJAH :D . I've had 4 animals spayed without any difficulty.......

Tammi, don't you fret. My girl Cleo is sitting on my lap and Gwenie just ran on by... both have been fixed and never had any trouble with that surgery at all. I have had more female cats than male so I'm used to it I guess :) But don't you fret and just give her a week or so to get all healed up and it will be like nothing ever happened :)

Snoopy you are too funny! I was just thinking of that when I opened this. I felt so silly for not being able to remember and now I will never forget Sienna's name again :teeth:

I had an appointment for my kitty to get spayed the week after a business trip, unfortunetly she started to go into heat right before I was going to leave. So I had to make the appointment earlyer. I had to leave my baby w/ trusted friends and had them take her in to get spayed and tatooed. I was a good mom and called the vet long distance the afternoon she was spayed. She was fine, goggy but fine.

You'll be fine.

She'll be fine. We're going to be getting our little boy puppy fixed soon and this is the first time we've had a boy.

We left one of our puppies with my MIL after her operation and when we got her back she was so spoiled that she was convinced that she couldn't get off the couch for 2 days. She was only there while we were at work but MIL took that no jumping to heart and she taught her well. :)

Kids and Pets - we worry about both of them. It's a wonder my hair is not all gray!

Three weeks ago we had our newest kitten, Nibbles, spayed and also declawed. Poor baby slept for what seemed like forever. (Because of the declawing more than the spaying) And then I was so upset because I thought her personality had changed. But it didn't. She is back to her old mischevious self, making the others lose weight by chasing them all over and getting herself into all sorts of *trouble*. LOL! She makes us laugh so much!

Sienna will be fine Rajah. You are definitely doing what must be done and she will be a happier kitty for it.

I was nervous too, and missed her like crazy. But it really didn't seem to change her at all. She came home and jumped and ran just like she always did. I'm sure she will do great. Now you, I'm sure, will be a total wreck!

Boots did real well when we had her done too. She got over it very swiftly!

I was always a wreck when I had to leave my cat at the vet for any procedure, even getting his teeth cleaned. I understand the way you feel but all will go okay and you'll feel so much better when its over!
