I could cry. I'm pregnant and can't eat a thing

Hugs to you.. I bet by the time you go you will be feeling better and eating well. However, if you are getting close and not feeling better, why not consult your doctor to see if she/he has any ideas for you...

With my first - I was threw up for 7 months -

when I was 3 months pregnant - we spent a day at WDW - that was the only day of my pregnancy that I felt awesome and was able to eat -

there must have been something about the magic of Disney that made me feel great!!!!

You should be feeling better by then - but if not maybe the magic of Disney will make you feel better!!

I also took phenegan during a lot of my pregnancy - which helped me at least keep food down!!

Congratulations!

You should be feeling alot better by the time of your trip! :) i used those arm bands for seasickness they help alot for morning (all day) sickness!

Amy

I was sick weeks 6-14, then it just went away! I dropped about 10 pounds. I tried Sea Bands (worthless), prescription meds, you name it, nothing worked. I hope you are able to get past the nausea and enjoy WDW!!

While I was sick I seemed to do well with sour things - lemonade, sour berry LifeSavers, fresh grapefruit. The thing that set me off the worst was chicken Ceasar salad. I went to a conference when I was 9 weeks along and sick from morning 'til night. I could not escape the chicken Ceasar salads! On the plane, at the conference, everywhere I turned! I still don't eat them and DS is turning 10.

Good luck!! :)

You will get better!! I was so sick with my first pregnancy, I swore I was not having any more kids. As soon as I completed my 3rd month, I felt better.

Enjoy your trip, esp. the good food!! Just don't walk too much...make sure you rest often.

I am at week 19 and STILL VERY nauseous!!!

I can't wait till it goes away, so I understand!

With my other 2 I was not like this at all.

The foods that work best for me are carbs...potatoes, crackers, bagels, any breads, etc.

I wish you luck...and take care of that new little one growing ! :sunny:

Hang in there Caramia! Both my pregnancies I was very nauseous. Both times I couldn't eat and strong smells made me gag. And of course both times was over the Thanksgiving Christmas holidays. After my second month and into my third I stopped feeling so "gaggy" and I could eat. During the "gaggy" times I could eat little meals, like three preztels or a quarter of a sandwich. After the worse part I still had to eat several times a day but small portions. Make sure your body is getting enough and talk to your OB about this. He or she has seen this a thousand times. Good luck :)

ack, so sorry you are feeling yuck!!! My sister just had twins and she was sick as a dog her first tri-mester, then it just went away all of a sudden and she could eat like a horse!!! What helped her out the most was keeping saltines on hand at all times...she never let her stomach get empty, b/c as soon as it did she was sick. It was odd, she lost almost 15 pounds during the first trimester, then she gained a ton and looked like a cute little oompa loompa...then she had the babies and lost it all and left the hospital weighing 114 pounds...what a punk! ;) She almost weighs the same as me but she just had TWINS...how does this happen?! :goodvibes

all the best to you and your little one!!! I'll bet you'll be eating Mickey out of house and home by the time you get there! :cool1:

Never been pregnant but some hints for avoiding nausea:

- Ginger - as people have said, works wonders. Ginger biscuits, ginger beer, you can even by extract of ginger tablets at a health food store.

- Peppermint - very soothing and helps nausea no end. I don't know what Lifesavers contain but the UK version, Polos, contain peppermint oil and they're very good at relieving nausea - I use them when on flights because I get slightly travel sick.

- Camomile - obviously calms the stomach.

- Cola - seriously. Buy a bottle of cola (or any other carbonated drink) and take the lid off. Leave it for an hour or so until it's pretty flat (shaking it up before hand helps it to go flat faster). It's surprisingly good - it was recommended to me by a nurse after I had stomach flu. The sugar and caffeine in cola perk you up, too.

Hope this helps!

I agree that you'll probably be in the "I will eat anything that doesn't eat me first" phase by the time you go. I was pretty sick up until week 14 and then one day I just woke up and was starving!!! That kept up until the third trimester when my stomach didn't have much room for food in it anymore. Good luck!

I was sick during both pregnancies until around week 16. I found that the Sea Bands really worked. Also I would avoid eating and drinking together. It made me sicker. I hope that you begin feeling better soon.

I had terrible morning sickness (got sick everyday) until week 10. It lifted overnight. I thought it might slowly decrease in intensity, but nope. One day I was sick and in tears, and the following day I was slightly woozy. Third day I was my old self.

During my second trimester (month 5) my husband and I took a trip to Canada (wonderful food up there) and I ate everything in site! :rotfl2:

I lost weight with both pregnancies during my first trimesters. I had no appetite. Wasn't sick thankfully just had no interest in food. But by the 2nd trimester I made up for it!

Only thing is with my first all i wanted was fruit. With my second I only wanted meat! So make sure you make ADRs with variety!

Good luck and have a wonderful time! Congrats on the baby!

Sorry your not feeling well, been there done that. Just like everyone else says you should feel better by the time you go. Until then try ginger and the other ideas posted. One that worked for me but I haven't seen here was from my mom, a nice vinegary salad, a little before the meal and little more at the end. To this day I still like to have my salad after my meal. Take care of yourself and your little one.

We made our trip reservation just before I found out I was pregnant (I mean a few days before!) With my first (DS 2) I had nausea for like a week. This time I was nauseous for the first 12 weeks straight - all day, every day and I was so upset thinking that I wouldn't be able to enjoy the DDP and Disney dining options/experiences. Our trip was during my 13th week and miraculously, as soon as I hit the 13 week mark I was no longer nauseous (only a touch on our plane ride down to Disney - but I am not a good flyer so it may have been nervousness). I enjoyed every meal and snack I was alotted on the DDP!!! So have faith, what they say about the "morning sickness" usually being over by the end of the first trimester is true (for most)! Good luck and congrats! :sunny:

You are not alone! I am currently 9 weeks pregnant and very sick as I sit here typing and sipping my ginger ale. My Dr. told me to take half a unisom at bedtime every night and 50mg of Vitamin B6 three times daily. They work together and have made a difference. maybe call your OB's nurse and ask if you can try that. For 98% of pregnancies the nausea ends by 16 weeks. So good luck!
