I could change my dining as soon as I PIF

Hi,
I have not seen anyone report this. We were waitlisted for Main Dining (Fantasy) and I had checked the website periodically to change to Main, but Main was never available. I kept checking bc PIF date is 10 days away and I thought people would start cancelling. No Availability. I also asked DCL twice on the phone recently bc I had called to add DS to our ressie.

I paid off cruise completely 9 days before PIF deadline. As soon as I did, I checked my online ressie again to see the $0.00 balance (love that!) then went to change dining and could do it immediately. SO, if anyone really wants to change, pay it off and try. To be clear, I could not change it 1 minute before I PIF. To me, it makes sense to give priority to people who are fully committed.

I think it depends on if the dining is full or not. I've paid in full and it's made no difference to whether or not I can change to the earlier dining. I'm on the waitlist to change to the earlier time but I'm also getting antsy because it is a dealbreaker for me (due to medical issues).

I'm waitlisted for early dining and it made no difference when I PIF. I'm still waitlisted. I was hoping that as the PIF date approached, enough people might cancel to get us off the waitlist, but no such luck.

We were waitlisted for main dining, were also PIF quite far in advance (our PIF date was in April and I was PIF in December). Right around April we did get main dining.
