I Conquered The Pound A Day Challenge!

It was a return visit for us to Boma for breakfast. Our ADRs were at 8:30 and it wasn't very crowded. Around 9AM things started picking up.

Boma has your traditional breakfast fare and foods with an African flavor to it. I had the Bobotie (corn beef, eggs, potato and onion). That was good. I also opted to have the eggs with feta and chives. They have a really good fruit salad there. Not sure what's in the dressing of that, but it's a winner. Another thing that is worth the trip is their Frunch. (I've also heard it called African Frunch, Jambo Juice, and Jungle Juice.) Frunch is a combination of mango, orange, pineapple and lemonade. DS had enough to fill up a camel's hump and the server sent him out the door with a to go cup!
Here is part of the pastries on the buffet

That afternoon we ended up at Wolfgang Puck Express. This was a place that wasn't on my itinerary, but we went there because the rain totally threw off our schedule of events. We really enjoyed WPE! It's a great use of a counter service credit. The food tastes way more like a table service.
DS had the spaghetti and meatballs. It came with 2 meatballs and they were gigantic! I think DS is practicing to be a food critic, and he gave it a two thumbs up.

DH had the bacon wrapped meatloaf. Now I am surprised that DH enjoyed it as much as he did. This is non-traditional meatloaf! He ate it all!

I ordered the rotisserie chicken with mashed potatoes. In the background you can see my cheesecake. My meal and dessert were both delicious!

DH and DS ordered brownies for their dessert, but they ran out. They had chocolate chip cookies instead.
I would definately go back here. It was great!

Final place of the day was the Rose and Crown in the United Kingdom/Epcot. It was still raining when we arrived, and the place was crowded. We went to the bar and ordered a drink and listened to the Hat Lady play the piano a bit. It didn't take long before our table was ready.
DS ordered the SUnday Roast. This was served with Yorkshire pudding, roated potatoes, vegetables and shallot gravy. He also ordered Toad in a Hole which used to be on the menu, but no longer is. Our server put in a request for it to be made and they did. DS raved about his roast and said we HAVE to go back next time.
DH had the Filet of Beef. It came with Irish Potato Gratin, vegetables and shallot gravy. He thought it was ok, but wasn't in love with the place like DS.
I had the Surf and Turf. Same thing as DH meal plus a piece of fried fish. I enjoyed the steak, but it was the fish I was in love with. VERY good!
No pics of the entrees, but I have pics of the important stuff. Desserts!
Lemon Pie. This was recommended by our server (Daniel-who was awesome). It is really good and was the best of the desserts we ordered.

We also had Sugar Free Trifle. I was trying to be calorie conscious...but it's hard to watch calories when you're sampling everything else. This was a so-so dessert. I'm sure with sugar in it, it would be wonderful.

Last but not least is the Chocolate Scotch Cake. It was tasty, but the lemon pie still gets my vote. Hard to believe since I'm a choco-holic!

All in all, it was a good food day! Definately going back to WPE and RnC!

Geez I think the review is giving me that pound a day..Everything looks and sounds so good!

Friday started off with breakfast at the Mara. All of us had Bounty Platters. Scrambled eggs, biscuit, sausage, bacon, potatoes and Mickey waffle. This is the same breakfast you can get at all the resorts. (At least the ones we've been to!:goodvibes)

Lunch was at LeCellier. This was "the" place I was most looking forward to going back to. DS wasn't so thrilled because last time he hated it. He went on and on about how gross his steak was. I told him there are other options on the menu, so pick one and give it a try. What did he order? The SAME EXACT thing he ordered last time. I asked him multiple times if he was sure and he said yes. I told him no complaining if he didn't like it because he had options!

Our server was fantastic. She brought us our bread sticks with extra pretzel ones in there and I dove in. Pretzel bread=:worship: I didn't take pics here, but I have pics from the last time that I'll share with you. :)

New York Strip w/ bercy butter, and au gratin. DH and DS both had this. (Chocolate shake in the background) DS also ordered their mac and cheese which was wonderful. No pic of that, but it is a substantial serving.

I ordered the Mushroom Filet Mignon. LOVE this. It's served with mushroom risotto and white truffle herb butter sauce. I absolutely LOVE the risotto! The filet was melt in your mouth goodness.

And now for the sad part of my tale. We were so full we did not order dessert. I know, I know. We even shocked poor Jen, our server. We may be black balled from LeCellier. :scared1: I was going to have the Bumbleberry Cobbler, which would have been new to me...guess it'll have to wait til next time!

That evening we went to the Lotus Blossom for dinner. All of us have agreed we don't need to go back. DS and I actually enjoyed the Asian food from Sunshine Seasons better.

DS ordered the Orange Chicken with steamed rice. He said it was ok, but not great.

DH and I both ordered Shrimp fried rice with an egg roll. Mediocre at best. :(

DH didn't want a dessert, I ordered the Caramel Ginger Ice Cream, and for DS I ordered an apply filled egg roll. The ice cream was good, but totally not the same texture of what we think of as ice cream. DS didn't want his dessert, so I had to give it a taste test. It sort of reminded me of an apple pie from McDonald's.

Even though we won't be returning anytime soon, I'm glad we went. I've always wondered about it and now I know it's not for us.

Our last day we started out with Entemann's doughnuts from the gift shop. :thumbsup2 It allowed us more time to spend in the parks!

Lunch was at The Leaning Palms at Typhoon Lagoon. DH and I both had the bacon cheeseburgers, and DS had a turkey club on ciabatta bread. No pics of this...my camera was in the locker. I also had a couple of yummy adult beverages from the bar. I had a mango margarita. These are frozen drinks, and TL does not give out straws because of their filtration systems, so it needed to melt a little before I could drink it. I also had a Banana Cabana which is Cruzan Mango Rum, Cruzan Guava Rum, Creme de Banana, Orange and Pineapple Juice, and a splash of Grenadine (C&P from All Ears). That was delish!

Dinner was at Whispering Canyon at The Wilderness. This adventure starts out with having to leave TL, go back to AKL, clean up fast, take a bus to MK, and then get on a boat to the Wilderness. It took awhile for the MK bus to come, so when the Epcot bus came I wanted to get on that. We could have got on the monorail, switched monorails and then got on the boat. DH thought that was too much. So we waited for the MK bus. It took another 20 minutes to get there. Once we got to the MK, we hurried down to the boat launch just in time to see a boat leave for WL. :headache: At this point we had 6 minutes til our ADR. When we got to WL it was 20 minutes past our ADR time. I figured if the couldn't take us, I'd call up Disney Dining and see if there were any table service options available that evening. Got to the podium, and they were fabulous. They said no problem that we were late, and it only took about 5 minutes to get seated.

We sat in the room off the main dining area. It was pretty nice back there. We could look out over the lobby, the fireplace was right there.

DS ordered the Canyon skillet. Pulled pork, chicken, ribs, and brisket. Mashed potatoes, baked beans, corn on the cob, salad and corn bread. All you can eat, too. Sorry about some of the missing food...he had already dug in!

DH and I both had the ribeye with mashed potatoes and veggies.

Desserts were...apple caramel pie. Yum-o-la!

Kahlua flavored chocolate cake. I did not sample this, but had it the last time. It's a chocolate lovers delight!
205022_1970088213204_1272930566_2353396_2404681_n.jpg

And the S'more cheesecake. DS discovered he likes cheesecake on this trip. :)

I also had a raspberry rain cocktail while here. All Ears says it's: Rain Organics Red Grape Hibiscus Vodka, Chambord, freshly muddled raspberries, lychee and fresh lemon juice. It was good and had a really pretty color. :)

Once again, we left WDW with lots of good memories, tired, and with a few extra pounds on us.

We did miss out on Captain Cooks for Tonga Toast, and Flame Tree, but there will always be another time. I'm already looking forward to trying Teppan Edo and Via Napoli next time!

Thanks for the reviews Illinimouse! I'm craving sweets, and i don't even like desserts! Can'y wait to try that yummy cupcake :)
