Well, I took my own advice yesterday and made a reservation for the last seating at Mythos (8 o'clock). When I left, sometime after nine, the park was closed and I had the place to myself.

Almost.

Something new this time was the security guard waiting for me at the front entrance of Mythos to escort me out of the park. At the entrance to the Lost Continent we met some more security guards, so I had two escorts.

My guess is they want to make sure no one gets up to mischief in the dark. I suppose if you're a couple the guards will keep a discreet distance.

Still it was great to linger in front of Poseidon's Fury at night -- nice and spooky -- and then stroll through the deserted Seuss Landing and (my absolute favorite) Port of Entry. At night you tend to notice the little touches you miss in the day, like the laughter and muffled conversations coming from the second story windows.

All in all, a great way to experience the park. Try it, you'll like it.

I think word got out that some "author" of a book about the parks was making suggestions for readers to book that last seating on purpose....

Hmmmmm................ good reason to call in some more security! :p

The park is quite beautiful at night. I may go up in July or August just to take some night shots.

See Kelly,,,,I knew you'd find a way to see port of entry at nite,,,eve if it was with two kiddie cops over your shoulder. Good for you!!

John;)
