I can't wait any longer! ~UPDATE 5/25 I'm back!

I’m going to celebrate that by… starting my day at AK. :rotfl:

I honestly wasn’t exactly sure what to do once this event was announced. Do I spend all my time at MK? Do I go on with my plans as, well, planned?

I decided to stick with my plans knowing that MK was probably going to be VERY busy this day! :faint:

I think this is brilliant, AK will probably be low population that day and you'll get to see all the animals- and the rides, probably more than once! :D

I’m anticipating extreme crowds this day so I may cut out of MK in the evening after my final FP and head to Epcot for a while. They extended the hours there until 1am, hoping to spread out some of the crowds. I have no doubt I’ll still be kicking at that hour so the choice will be mine at what point I head back to MK.

I <3 EPCOT at night! Who am I kidding I love all of the Parks at night! MK will be incredible for the 24 hour event I'll bet! I hope you get to ride on everything your heart desires!
Feel free to weigh in on how you would tackle the 24 hour party!
I still can’t believe that I’m lucky enough to have such an event during my time at Disney. :cloud9:

If I were there for 24 hour event I'll bet we would stay up all night, but we would take the morning to sleep in some. Will there be restaurants and such open during it? Or just restaurants at MK? Hope you have a fabulous and memorable day and night!

I’m dreading it already and my vacation hasn’t even started!

Don't think about it!!!
"Hey! How about that weather? Didja catch that ball game? What about that crazy traffic?"

Forgotten about it yet?

Thankfully, my first FP isn’t until after 10am and it’s for Figment

The always important FP for Figment.

:sad2:

Jenny (@SimplyGoofy) and her sister Anika will be arriving this day and I won’t let this opportunity to meet them pass me up!

I get that. Nothing beats a DISmeet, am I right?

I may even grab a nap – there’s a first for everything, right?!

I understand that depression has that affect on people.

Why bother sleeping when you have to be up and ready to leave around 4am?

::yes::

I figure I might as well sleep on the plane and deal with the repercussions of little to no sleep once I’m home, right?! Right?! [crickets]

And again... ::yes::

I have less than an hour to wait for my connection to Syracuse

Nice! Just enough time to get from plane A to plane B.... then back to sleep.

What an early flight. We have one leaving at 7 AM coming home at the end of our June trip next month and are not looking forward to that 4 AM Magical Express trip! Hope it goes well for both of us!

Hi, John! Oh, I totally understand! If I'm gone for more than a night or two, it's quite the challenge to catch back up! So being gone an extended amount of time is TRULY a challenge! :faint:

So happy to hear that you were in the UK! :thumbsup2 I'm really hoping to get back Fall 2016... but of course it will all depend on how the possible home-buying goes AND other possible Disney trips factor in :rotfl: London with family and Scotland with friends? Sounds amazing!!! :goodvibes
It was amazing, a true blessing! I'm already trying to figure out when a good time to go back would be (and also take a side trip to Disneyland Paris)

Thank you so much for telling me more about the 24 hour party! I think I've only read on TR about it and that was quite a while ago. You just may have convinced me to try for the 6am opening. My original hesitation was only because of the late night I'd have, but now I'm thinking maybe a nap mid-day instead? Hmm... :scratchin Your comment about the Disney fanatics being there at 6am kinda sold me... I'd be surrounded by "my people. Very good point about the 7-10pm hours - I think I'll duck out by then and head for Epcot. Too bad you weren't going to make it for Year #3 for the 24 hour party - we could meet up! But I'm happy to hear that you will be in DL soon! :goodvibes I'll let you know if I have questions about the party - thank you! :goodvibes
I'm a firm believer in the mid day nap when temperatures are insane and the parks are at their most crowded. But if you want to keep the reputation of being a commando park attacker, you could always rest your eyes in Hall of Presidents! Epcot before going back to the MK for the night cap would be a good choice as well since it's just two monorail lines as opposed to buses. I'll be sure to chime in with any other tips I may be able to think of. Yeah, it would be nice to be at the party this year but I am excited about seeing Disneyland's during it's 60th anniversary celebration, so it's a nice consolation prize (I may even break out of my comfort zone and write up a one day mini trip report)! I'll take a rain check for the meet up!

I will absolutely be heading out for MK at some point in the evening, however. After all, it’s open until 3am and it’ll probably be shortly after 4am that I’ll have my pick-up with Magical Express. Why bother sleeping when you have to be up and ready to leave around 4am? I figure I might as well sleep on the plane and deal with the repercussions of little to no sleep once I’m home, right?! Right?! [crickets]
Agree 100% :)

My sister and her family are coming down to spend the rest of the weekend at my mom’s house on the lake so I’ll be heading there myself shortly. It's going to reach nearly 90 here today so where better to spend the day then at the lake?! Don't be too jealous though... part of the day will involve putting in a boat lift... and that's always a joy.
A couple of days at the lake sounds like a nice way to recover from your trip!

TODAY, MY FRIENDS, IS SINGLE DIGIT DANCE TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WOOHOO!! :cheer2:  party:  :cheer2:

Feel free to weigh in on how you would tackle the 24 hour party!
I still can’t believe that I’m lucky enough to have such an event during my time at Disney. :cloud9:
SO JEALOUS!! I think your plans for the day are great. AK, MK, and Epcot sounds like a pretty amazing day! :goodvibes

Actually... I AGREE! :rolleyes1
Personally I think a nap during the day would be great, then just stay up have fun, and crash on the flight. If you aren't feeling tired by 12am, I say go for it!! Good thing you have that recovery day before work! :thumbsup2

DO NOT SLEEP! Totally not worth it MK till 2am, hotel shower DME to the airport, you can sleep most of the day Memorial day, and on the plane, and then work Tuesday... BOO to work...

I dream of being able to go to an MK 24-hr event someday!!!

Enjoy!!!

Haha magical depress ;) it totally is, though! So sad leaving disney!

More to come tonight with plans for the 24 hour event but I couldn't start my day without sharing this fun little fact...

TODAY, MY FRIENDS, IS SINGLE DIGIT DANCE TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:dance3::jumping1: :cool1: :banana::dancer::banana::cool1::jumping1::dance3:

Yay, yay, yay!

But not to fear! I’m a Type A list-makin’ kind of gal
(contain your surprise!),
so I have a lengthy list of all goals I hope/have to accomplish by this time next week.

You are my spirit animal! I have lists for everything!

I’m pretty sure Dugette and her family will be at Epcot during the evening and Dugette will be solo at MK later. I hope to see them/her again this day!

This should be fun!

Well… MK is open Saturday, May 23 until 3am so I may very well choose to just stay out most of that night and forgo sleep the next day until I crash into a pile of goo with just a MagicBand left once I board my flight to JFK.

This is a sound plan. Really, aren't you just making the most of your trip this way? And I'm more tired after just a few hours sleep than if I stay up all night. See, totally justified and responsible.

I still can’t believe that I’m lucky enough to have such an event during my time at Disney.

I'm so happy for you! I remember checking out the webcam they had set up during the 24-hour event last year - it looks like it will be amazing!

But seriously, your vacation ending is bad enough, let alone the fact that it has to at 6am. :sad2:

Torture upon torture, I agree!

11:50am-12:50pm Soarin’
[this will not be missed under any circumstances]

:thumbsup2

I will spend today relaxing – to the best of my ability – in Epcot.
I plan to wind my way around World Showcase and hit up any of the films I haven’t yet seen this trip. Also will be sure to hit up Voices of Liberty… something tells me I’ll have no problem grabbing a comfy seat [on the floor] and just enjoying these wonderfully talented people for a while.

This sounds like an amazing way to spend the day. Does it really get any better?

I figure I might as well sleep on the plane and deal with the repercussions of little to no sleep once I’m home, right?! Right?!

I agree! You will be able to catch up on sleep when Disney isn't right outside your door!

Yay for Dismeets!! You're right...CM's will hopefully be easy to spot lol...gotta get pictures lol
YES!!! That's a promise on the pictures!!! I just hope I'm not so excited I forget!

Wish I could say that every day! :cloud9:
ME TOO!!!!!! Just relaxin' at Epcot... :cloud9: That's what my idea of heaven is
:cool1: Sounds awesome! Hoping I get to say hi to them later that day! :goodvibes
:thumbsup2

::yes:: I totally support this plan! :thumbsup2
Good!!! Because I think it's a good one too! :thumbsup2

And this helps a lot too - you'll probably be so grateful for that recovery time!
I really think that Monday will be my saving grace after the last leg of this trip and the guaranteed lack of sleep.

I think this is brilliant, AK will probably be low population that day and you'll get to see all the animals- and the rides, probably more than once! :D
That's exactly what I'm hoping for! There's a chance I may make the 6am opening of MK but I will definitely head out to AK once 8am rolls around. :thumbsup2

I <3 EPCOT at night! Who am I kidding I love all of the Parks at night! MK will be incredible for the 24 hour event I'll bet! I hope you get to ride on everything your heart desires!
I KNOW!!!!!!!! Any of the parks at night just seem extra magical :cloud9: :lovestruc Thank you!!! I hope so too!

If I were there for 24 hour event I'll bet we would stay up all night, but we would take the morning to sleep in some. Will there be restaurants and such open during it? Or just restaurants at MK? Hope you have a fabulous and memorable day and night!
I'm going to stay out as late as I possibly can make it! I'm not sure about restaurants, I'd imagine that at least QS ones will be open - at least I hope so! I'll need to refuel often! Thank you Rebecca!!!

Don't think about it!!!
"Hey! How about that weather? Didja catch that ball game? What about that crazy traffic?"
Forgotten about it yet?
Yes!!! But now I remembered again... :sad2:

I get that. Nothing beats a DISmeet, am I right?
Well, unlike you, I wouldn't know officially yet but I'm guessing that's 110% accurate! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I understand that depression has that affect on people.
Yep, sure does...

Nice! Just enough time to get from plane A to plane B.... then back to sleep.
Precisely! Maybe I can even sleepwalk to my connecting flight? :confused3

What an early flight. We have one leaving at 7 AM coming home at the end of our June trip next month and are not looking forward to that 4 AM Magical Express trip! Hope it goes well for both of us!
Early flights are the worst! Especially when it means leaving Disney :sad2: I don't mind them on the trip down though of course ;) - the earlier I can get there, the better! :thumbsup2 Yes, I agree - hopefully it'll work out for us both!

It was amazing, a true blessing! I'm already trying to figure out when a good time to go back would be (and also take a side trip to Disneyland Paris)
Yes! I want to get to Disneyland Paris as well! I hope you're able to get back soon :goodvibes

I'm a firm believer in the mid day nap when temperatures are insane and the parks are at their most crowded. But if you want to keep the reputation of being a commando park attacker, you could always rest your eyes in Hall of Presidents! I'll take a rain check for the meet up!
I really think a mid-day nap is the way to go that day... I may have to really force myself to do it, but I'll likely be very happy I did! But good back-up plan with Hall of Presidents! :rotfl: Yes! Please do chime in if you think of any other tips - I'd welcome them! I strongly encourage you to do a mini-trip report! I'd love to read about your day! Rain check for a meet up for sure :goodvibes
Thanks for dancing with me!!! :goodvibes

SO JEALOUS!! I think your plans for the day are great. AK, MK, and Epcot sounds like a pretty amazing day! :goodvibes
Thank you!!! I'm hoping my plans translate into a great day... but any day at Disney is so... :rolleyes1:laughing:

Actually... I AGREE! :rolleyes1
Personally I think a nap during the day would be great, then just stay up have fun, and crash on the flight. If you aren't feeling tired by 12am, I say go for it!! Good thing you have that recovery day before work! :thumbsup2
I'll probably really try to force myself into coming back to the room for a break - one thing I do NOT want to do is crash and burn at 11pm! :rotfl:

DO NOT SLEEP! Totally not worth it MK till 2am, hotel shower DME to the airport, you can sleep most of the day Memorial day, and on the plane, and then work Tuesday... BOO to work...
You are my inspiration, Lauren!!! I love it! I see you subscribe to the "there's NO sleeping at Disney!" rule! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 I hope to do you proud!

I dream of being able to go to an MK 24-hr event someday!!!

Enjoy!!!

Haha magical depress ;) it totally is, though! So sad leaving disney!
I cannot believe my luck that I'll be there for this! that's why I really want to not take it for granted as so many people wish they could partake in it too. I'm going to take full advantage! :thumbsup2 Right?! Magical Depress I is just so fitting!

Yay, yay, yay!
Thanks for the awesome dancing Mickey!!! :thumbsup2

You are my spirit animal! I have lists for everything!
YAY!!!!!!!!!!! I know - I live by lists... because my memory is nearly nonexistent! And also I get such satisfaction from crossing things off!

This is a sound plan. Really, aren't you just making the most of your trip this way? And I'm more tired after just a few hours sleep than if I stay up all night. See, totally justified and responsible.
YES! Good point, I'm just making the most of my trip ::yes:: And another very good point, I feel horrible after just a few hours of sleep... better to just push on through without any!

I'm so happy for you! I remember checking out the webcam they had set up during the 24-hour event last year - it looks like it will be amazing!
Thank you!!! :goodvibes

Torture upon torture, I agree!
Exactly! :sad2:

This sounds like an amazing way to spend the day. Does it really get any better?
Nope!

I agree! You will be able to catch up on sleep when Disney isn't right outside your door!
Precisely! It's like you're speaking my language! :thumbsup2

I'm rather jealous that you get to be at MK during the 24-hour day! I can't believe I'm arriving HOURS after it's done... :sad2: (although I thought that was a possibility when I booked given the date of last year's 24-hour day ). If you get up super-duper early and can't sleep that morning, you could always go over to MK for the opening, enjoy the sunrise on Cinderella castle and experience a few attractions, and then make your way over to AK for that opening. :thumbsup2

I'm super excited to meet you, too! :yay: I'm glad it works so well with your planned schedule!

If it were me, I would absolutely stay up all night and then crash on the plane! Squeezing out a few more hours of Disney fun sound so much better than some boring old sleep. I would also be nervous about sleeping through my alarm and missing my ME to the airport with that early of a pick up (I have the same concerns about OUR early pick up! :scared: ).

I hope you had a wonderful weekend! I visited the Finger Lakes for a friend's wedding a few years ago - it's a very pretty area!

I know! I had the same thought about the 24 hour event and you and Anika arriving just shortly after. :sad2: I have to admit that I'm glad it's on the end side of my trip so I don't make myself completely exhausted right at the start! I think I will absolutely consider doing the 6am MK opening - likely I won't be able to sleep well before that day anyway due to all the excitement! :hyper:

That's such a good point - I thought the same thing about accidentally sleeping through my alarm - not going to bed at all would guarantee that wouldn't happen! I'm usually the type that can get up without an alarm no matter what, but given how exhausted I'm going to be at that point, I wouldn't trust myself. :rotfl2:

Yes!!! But now I remembered again... :sad2:

Shoot. Well it was worth a try.

Well, unlike you, I wouldn't know officially yet but I'm guessing that's 110% accurate! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I've had four so far. All have been wonderful.
Only one in the World though.

Precisely! Maybe I can even sleepwalk to my connecting flight? :confused3

Better yet, maybe someone could just pick you up out of your seat, cart you over to the next plane and put you back to "bed" in your seat.

Shoot. Well it was worth a try.
Absolutely. A for effort! :thumbsup2

I've had four so far. All have been wonderful.
Only one in the World though.
And I can even remember what dynamic trio was involved in your one and only Dismeet! :goodvibes

Better yet, maybe someone could just pick you up out of your seat, cart you over to the next plane and put you back to "bed" in your seat.
Perfect!!! I'll be asking Flight #1 for volunteers to do just that. However, upon seeing a red-eyed lady with Mickey ears and unbrushed hair, they may all run the other way. :rotfl:

Your in the home stretch!!! Won't be long until you're at Disney!
I know!!!!!!!!!! :hyper::hyper::hyper: It's still feeling very surreal to me, even though I'm getting daily emails from Disney with "you're almost here" messages! It probably won't feel real until I'm on the Magical Express passing under those gates :cloud9:
