OMG!!! I was JUST having this dicussion with my DH today!! I bought him a new pair of sandals because we leave for Fl. tomorrow. I told him to try them on and what does he do? Puts his socks on first!!! I said NO WAY are you wearing those socks with your sandals at the beach! We were cracking up because he just doesn't see the fashion "faux pas"!LOL He said "all the guys I grew up with wore socks with sandals"!!! I'M MARRIED TO A NERD!!! AHHHHHH!!!!

I will join you as a wife of a nerd. Except my DH wears those high-top sneakers with argyle (sp?) socks up to his knees. (..hangin my head in shame..) He is an engineer so I suppose they make exceptions for people like him.

thats bad!!!! Now the socks and sandles thing - first off - feet should be hidden at all times! Gross! So I'm thankful for folks who wear sock with sandles. Although it does look very nerdy!

When were were in WDW a week or so ago, I saw this man with shorts on and high white socks pulled up to his knees. Now there is no way I could be seen with that.

Instead of getting him typical socks, perhaps some sport socks that just come to the ankle. Then it won't look as bad, but I feel your pain!

I dressed up as my boss one year for halloween and work black sandals with socks. It was hilarious!

Are we gonna see him immortalized on Zurg's *Badshoe.com* ? I honestly see many a guy wearing the socks/sandal thing. Compared to all the thong/underwear views we see peeking over shorts/jeans etc., it's really not that bad!

My husband wants to wear his Tevas all of the time - even if we go somewhere cold. He will wear his thick black wool socks from JCrew with his Tevas, but he is wearing sweats...so at least I can't really see them. His dad is an engineer, and always wears socks with his sandals, so maybe it is genetic.

Hey, at least my husband got a new hairstyle in December - the first time since he came out of the womb!!!
