I can't go through with a Disney boycott

This will surely call my dislike of Michael Moore into question, but I just can't give up Disney.

I'm sorry, but from the moment of my birth on up to the words I'm typing now and in the future, I'm a Disney lifer. I sleep with 2 Mickey Mouse dolls (yeah, I'm 20, I know), I know all the lyrics to "Part Of Your World" (even some of the deleted ones), and I always enjoy visiting the parks.

So, to paraphrase another poster, I'll still like Disney. I'll just boycott the Moore "documentary".

Mickey Mouse cast a spell on me...What can I tell you? I'm a Disney mark.

Sincerely,

John "anotherboardnposter" Kilduff...

And I still love this country.

Call me nieve, I'm not sure what we are talking about here.

Good for you John! No need to give up something you love. You can still protest the movie by refusing to see it. I think that's a great decision! :)

That is exactly what I am doing, but I did send an e-mail to them.

Nice post John! :)

I think that's the most sensible way to deal with the situation- if the movie turns out to be as offensive to the majority of Americans as the pre-publicity suggests, then it will lose money for Disney and they won't do that again. . that's how capitalism works. :)

OneCat- there was an article mentioned in a thread a couple days back that said a group was boycotting Disney for agreeing finance a documentry my Micheal Moore in which he's going to claim some kind of tie between the Bush family and Osama bin Laden- it's no secret the Bush family has had financial ties for years with the bin Laden family's contruction business, but no proof that any of that has supported Osama. .

The movie hasn't even been made yet and I doubt Moore has anything new to say on the subject; but some feel he'll use the known facts to smear President Bush and are boycotting Disney for financing the project.

I'm a Bush supporter and a great believer in free speech. I won't be boycotting Disney anytime soon.

Thanks for the info Deb.

Good for you anotherboardnposter! Why hurt YOURSELF via a boycott? I still think that if Michael Moore is such an idiot, it will be apparent when people see his documentary and that will be the most damaging.

Attaboy. I like Disney, but I too dislike the maker of ficticious documentaries.

I think by now most people know what Michael Moore is about. I am kind of surprised that Disney would finance his movies, that kind of puts them on the level of supporting his viewpoints - I imagine they look at it as supporting art in all it's form. There is definitely a fine line there. It will be interesting to watch. It really comes back again to free speech.

Disney has been around alot longer than Michael "The Idiot" Moore. I wouldn't boycott Disney because of him. He's a loser and this will probably just prove it all over again.

So, to paraphrase another poster, I'll still like Disney. I'll just boycott the Moore "documentary".

Same here. I have no intention of seeing the movie, but I'm not about to stop planning my next Disney trip for anyone :p
