I can't get search to work and need a new camcorder??

DH doesn't seem to think we need digital, but I don't know. I think I read here to get digital zoom. Does that sound right? Of course looking for the best deal out there.
Digital? Non-digital??
Suggestions??

If you don't want digital you can save quite a bit of money. Digital is cool however. We've had two Sony camcorders (8mm) over the years and they were both good. The first one lasted about 15 years before we replaced it.
