At first I was extremely excited that my family was going to Disney World and staying at CBR. Now, reading some bad reviews I'm nervous and regretting our decision! We are going the first week in August and every other mod is booked  At that time, do the buses run smoothly and often? That's a big concern of mine as well...help me feel better about it pleaseee!

First, you will always read both positive and negative reviews about every resort at WDW. I suggest you read thoroughly the long thread of frequently asked questions about CBR and get a complete picture of services there.

Second, the buses run smoothly and often to CBR. You will read positive and negative threads about Disney transportation services to all resorts.

Third, what are your real concerns? You will have a great time at CBR, if you go will a positive mental attitude. I don't think you'll be disappointed with the CBR. The resort is absolutely beautiful and the walks to and from your room to Old Port Royale are pleasant. And, don't forget free dining.

We have stayed at CBR twice - and loved it both times. I loved the tropical feel and Old Port Royale has a great food court and shopping area. We never had any probs with the buses. It is a large resort and some of the rooms are far from OPR, but there are a lot of people that like that. I'm sure you will like CBR. I would not worry too much about the negative press on the DIS. My favorite resort (the Poly) gets more than its fair share. I have seen bad reports on all the resorts. Relax - your going to Disney and staying at a mod!!!!

I felt the same way when we booked our stay in 2009. I kept reading all of these negative reviews, about how spread out it is and how bad the bus service is. Yes, the resort is spread out, but I didn't think it was any worse than POR or CSR. The bus service was also fine and no different than POR, IMHO.

We loved our stay at CBR. It is so bright and tropical that you do feel like you're at a Caribbean resort.:cloud9: The pool was awesome!:thumbsup2 My kids loved the kiddie area, 2 slides, zero entry, and how big it was. You never felt crowded. The food court was ok but the kids loved the dancing led by CM's.

Enjoy your stay.

Don't Worry!!!! We stayed at CBR Oct 2010 and absolutely loved it!!! We stayed in the pirate theme rooms and the bus stop was close by and it was a 4 minute walk to the big pool area (another pool just outside our door). Just the follow the walkway along the water. One morning when we were waiting for the MK bus and a family was waiting to go to the pool, they didn't realize how close we were actually to the pool and walked instead of waiting for the bus. We saw them later and they thanked us. The bus system isn't perfect but it works really well.

The pool there was great, my kids loved it (7&5). As soon as I can narrow down a trip this year, I will stay again at CBR.

Plus the resort is so much closer to the Epcot and HS parks that the ride over is not that long.

we stayed at cbr last september and really enjoyed it. there were 5 of us. myself, my sister, my infant nephew, her fiancee, and my dd. my dd loved it there! the room was always spotless and clean. the nemo theme was really nice (really liked the room). the main pool and hot tub are amazing. we really liked the food court and ate all but 2 of our counter service meals there. we actually like the food court at cbr much better than the one at riverside. the resort is very pretty and very relaxing. i think we waited no longer than 10 minutes for a bus at any given time. i wouldnt worry. i think youll enjoy it just as we did. i would like to stay there again. we just wanted to try a different resort for this upcoming trip.

please ignor the thumbs down. i dont know how i managed to get that in there!!

Well, like others have said you will read and positive and negative opinions of all the resorts. For us, CBR is our favorite resort! The tropical beach theme really can't be beat, plus we enjoy the pools, have had friendly CM's, and think the atmosphere feels very much like an island. I have also heard complaints about CBR busses, but you will hear complaints about the busses at all resorts. It's hit or miss really. Each time we've stayed at CBR (three times so far, our fourth this August), we've had great bus service. Our most recent trip in May/June 2009 had fantastic bus service! We did not wait any longer than 10 minutes for a bus, and usually the wait was well under 5 minutes. Like I said, our experience may or may not be typical, but I wouldn't spend too much time worrying about the busses, because good or bad, there's really not much you can do about it. Have a great trip, and I'm sure you'll enjoy CBR!

Make sure that you take time to stroll along the paths of the island "Caribbean Cay" when you are there. It's so relaxing. There were some very nice CMs there when we went a few years back. And don't forget about the hammocks. The gift shop was interesting as well.

This is why I when I'm in a "mood" I go into threads and purposely counter attack complaining/negative threads. Because I don't want someone like you who doesn't know any better having their resort decsion influenced by a bunch of crap and more importantly being sick to your stomach about a vacation you've already booked, when you should be excited!!

CBR is one of the most beautiful resorts on DW property. IMO the bus service is the best on DW property. The pool is in the top 5 on DW property. The atmosphere is great. The most enjoyable family vacation we ever had was Dec. 2008 at CBR. So please don't let the haters ruin your vacation.

We stayed at CBR twice and really like it. I did pay for a preferred location. We go when it's reaaly hot. If it's a cooler time I probably wouldn't mine the walk because it is a beautiful walk. Bus service was very good, better then at thePoly when we stayed there. Pretty good food court and. main pool has 2 water slides and great pirate themed kiddie water area.

Ditto the raves for CBR. It's probably my favorite moderate. We have stayed there several times and love everything about it. Food court, theming, layout of the property. Never had a problem with buses. Our favorite buildings are Martinique and Aruba and always try to request one of them. Aruba will give you a nice quick walk across Caribbean Cay to get to Old Port Royale. Don't fret about your reservation - you made a great choice - just enjoy it! :thumbsup2

I love, love the deluxes....but I have stayed at CBR 3 times and loved each stay! The resort is beautiful, the grounds are very relaxing. Never had any trouble with buses except for buses to DTD, but that is common at every resort.

Expect to enjoy CBR, and you will.

CBR is our favorite! We are returning next summer and none of us can wait! Feel free to check out the photos of CBR in the links below! :cool1:

We love CBR. We are going this July and again staying at CBR which will be our 7th stay there. We love the white, sandy beaches with lounging hammocks and friendly ducks. We love the main pool and the quiet pools in each village. We love the beautiful tropical foliage and music playing throughout the resort. The resort is very colorful and beautiful. The food court and gift shop are great. And we have always had good service with the bus system. The rooms are big with two double beds along with double sinks and extra storage underneath. The staff has always been very kind and helpful. We can't wait to go in July! Have a wonderful vacation and I hope you like CBR.

I loved our stay at CBR a few weeks ago. I will say that we did have a preferred room and thats the only way I will stay there. IMHO anyways. It is a beautiful resort. And even though we were'nt that far from everything, it was so quite and peaceful too. I was worried a little to, but had no gripes at all.

We have stayed at the CBR three times and have always had a wonderful time!!:cool1: We are going back in December for a Grand Gathering and we are all booked at CBR:banana:

I just got back from CBR last week and I too had some reservations about booking this resort. I've stayed at POR and POFQ, and I must say that out of the three CBR is probably my favorite. Beautiful grounds, nice pools, and I found the bus service to be very good to/from the parks. Also if you're back at the resort early enough, you can watch some of the Epcot fireworks by Old Port Royale. Wish I were at CBR now:sad1:

I really like CBR too. Stayed there three times and loved it!! Buses were never a problem, grounds were nice, music made me feel like I was in the tropics!!

I LOVE CBR. I can`t wait to go back! September is our next visit and it can`t come soon enough!
Keep in mind what some of the previous posters have said, you will find bad reviews at all of the resorts and you will have fabulous review also! Go with an open mind, see the beautiful grounds and soak in the feel of being on a tropical island!
It Drives me crazy when I read of all the people complaining about `how far they had to walk` C`mon people YOU ARE AT DISNEY, you are going to do a tonne of walking anywhere you go. Really it is only 1.4 miles around the entire perimeter of CBR, so with the walk way bridge over the pond it is not a far walk maybe 5 mins to get anywhere. True there are some close villages to OPR but either way you are going to walk to get there.

I found we walked more to get to our room the time we stayed at ASMov. It took us a good hike to get to the buses and to the the food court, so I don`t see the big deal.
This post might have come accross snippy, I am sorry I haven`t had my morning coffee yet, I just can`t imagine being in disney and not having a fabulous time. If you have a room problem they can always fix it and move you to another. You will have a great time, you are in Disney at a moderate resort with free dining( I thought I saw that somewhere). That is one amazing vacation, I wish I could do it a couple of times a year!

Get excited, feel the magic!! Put on some caribbean music and start dancing. If you start practicing now you can dance your way to and from OPR and the buses. Maybe you could start something new for the resort to be known for!

Stayed there and really liked it. We've stayed at 5 different resorts over the years, value, mod, and deluxe and have liked all of them. You can't go into your trip already dreading your resort, your sabotaging your own vacation. People must stop taking the reviews on this forum as though it the final word, THEY ARE ALL INDIVIDUAL OPINIONS!
Nothing on this forum sways my decision, I simply like to hear what others have to say.
