I Can't Do That! I'd Be Too EmBEARassed! A Nov 2015 TR New PTR link 10/13!

That picture of you and Pluto is too cute! I love when they do non-traditional poses.
I've never seen Marie out. I'll have to look for her next time. This wasn't in the tent where Minnie, Daisy, Donald, & Goofy usually are, is it?

Hey, do I recognize that Pluto shirt from our Opry Mills shopping day? :-) That truly is a GREAT photo of you and your doggy!

I am sure there will be plenty of GF snack and meal options for me. I cannot wait to find out! Wait...did you just do TWO updates with no food porn??? How dare you! LOL

I love your pictures with Pluto, especially the one that you like the best. :thumbsup2 Our grandson loves Pluto and he wore a Pluto costume to MNSSHP last October. His costume got him a lot of attention, which was so cute.

this is just too cute.. I love this so much!!!

Enjoying your report! Love love the Pluto shots! Makes me want to see some characters when we go next June! Can't wait to hear more!

What a great meet with Pluto! I love it when the characters are really "into character" and a great PhotoPass photogrpher is nearby!

I'm loving this TR so far - a "surprise" solo trip to most of us!

I'm sorry the parade taping put a damper on your first view of the castle. It must have been neat to see a behind the scenes view of the taping!

Glad you stayed dry on Pirates and got to see your Bears!

Awesome meet with Pluto! Love the pictures!

Such amazing pictures with Pluto! I'm glad it was a great interaction. And nice that you got to meet Marie while you were there too!

That was probably the best Pluto interaction I've ever had! It was a lot of fun. And I was also happy to be able to add Marie to the list of characters I've met.

Looks like you had a fantastic meet and greet with Pluto. I always love those types of meet and greets they are the most memorable.

I agree about the shoes. I always tennis shoes in the parks as well.

They take a whole week to film the Christmas parade so it is definitely a show rather than just a parade. The people who go to he filmings are definitely dedicated people.

It was really a wonderful meet! I wish I could wear sandals on the hot days but they just don't work for me. It was in the mid 80s that day and some of the parade audience had hats, sweatshirts and scarves on. I certainly would not have enjoyed it!

I was so thrilled when Pluto asked me to pose that way, it made for a great interaction. Marie and Pluto are usually in the middle of town square at the front of the park. Marie sometimes switches off with Minnie so you might have missed her. And on that was not the same tent as the other characters. It was just to the right of the regular meet in the open air tent that used to house the FP machines for Dumbo and Barnstormer.

Nope, that's a different Pluto shirt. I got that one off of a website called Uniqlo. The one from Opry Mills is a shade tight on me so I haven't worn it out yet.

Just one update without food porn! The one before this one had the cupcake even though it wasn't the best. There's some coming up in the next two updates so hopefully that will satisfy you. :rotfl:

Sounds like you met an awesome Pluto

Thanks, I really love those pictures. Awwww, I bet he looked really cute. It's too bad that Pluto doesn't meet during MNSSHP, those would have been some really cute photos.

this is just too cute.. I love this so much!!!

That is a pretty funny! Those were the Princess Leia mouse ears and it looks like she has the string under her nose instead of her chin.

What a great Pluto meet! It looks like you had a lot of fun with him.

It was a huge amount of fun that's for sure!

Enjoying your report! Love love the Pluto shots! Makes me want to see some characters when we go next June! Can't wait to hear more!

I used to skip the characters but since I've been so many times, I've started doing more and more meet and greets. And I've really enjoyed them. You should definitely see some characters while you are there.

He was in rare form that day and for once I got a lot of PP pictures!

Hi Jamie! Glad to see you here. I have your TR bookmarked and need to get caught up. I still have about 30 TRs/PTRs to get caught up on.

I did enjoy seeing some of the parade taping even though I didn't get to walk down Main Street my first day.

Those pictures with Pluto are just the best!

Will Dinner Be “Third Times the Charm” or “Three Strikes You’re Out”?

I pretty much walked right onto the MK Express Monorail and then onto the Epcot one so it was a very quick transition to this beautiful site.

Since I was early I stopped and got a few PP pictures which included my first Magic Shot.

I was originally going to meet up with Suzi and D~ as they had planned Food and Wine for this night. But they had done MVMCP the night before and then had an early morning so they were really tired. They decided to do an early night at the resort instead of coming to Epcot. They did invite me to come and hang out with them at AKL and I probably would have if I hadn't had an ADR booked. So what to do for the extra time? Pluto was done meeting for the day so that was out but Spaceship Earth had no line so I headed there.

I really love the blue lights as you descend backwards and always try to take a picture. I finally got a sort of good shot this time.

And then it was time for my future. I always try to pick different options so I get different scenes. I must have done a good job this time because there were several ones I did not recognize.

After SE, I still had a bit of time so I headed towards the Art of Disney store to wander around. I can always waste time in a store. But as I got near, I was approached by another DISer! It was Monica (tatar63 here on the DIS) and she recognized my Pluto bag. We both had bags made by the same person. She was headed back to WS for Food and Wine but we sat for a while on a wall and chatted. And she actually remembered to get a picture of the two of us. Hope you don’t mind Monica but I totally stole your picture off of Facebook.

As we sat there chatting, I was approached a second time by someone that knew me. And this time it was not a DISer. It was the little sister of my college roommate. Last time I saw her it was at least 20 years ago and I think she was about 13 at the time. No idea how she even recognized me! At first I didn’t know who she was but once she told me I knew immediately. Just like the song says, it’s a small world! We talked for a few minutes and Monica took a picture for us which I don’t have a copy of, then she and her family moved on.

It was getting close to my ADR time so Monica and I headed back towards WS. I’m not sure where we parted ways but she headed towards the Food and Wine booths and I headed towards Le Cellier. It was really wonderful meeting you Monica!

On the way into the restaurant, I got to see one of the cute Disney bunnies.

The gardens back in that area are just so beautiful.

So let’s talk about Le Cellier since it’s the focus of the installment title. The first time I ate there it was with Mom in 2012. This was the best meal either of us had in Disney. Our steaks were perfectly cooked and everything was yummy. We talked the restaurant up to our family and made another ADR there in 2014 for eight of us. This was one of the worse meals I’ve ever had at Disney. Our ADR was kind of late at 7:45 but it was the only time I could get for a party of 8. We ended up waiting over an hour past that time before we were seated. Then our food was just nothing like the 2012 experience. My steak was burnt on the outside and still cold on the inside and the potatoes I had were way over salted. On top of everything else, my SIL was not feeling well and she and my brother ended up leaving early. Mom and I were so disappointed. But I kept thinking about that first meal and how much Mom and I enjoyed it. I really needed a 2 credit meal during the trip to use up my credits so I decided to give it one more try.

I was seated very quickly this time which was a plus for the restaurant. First up was the bread. The waitress took some time to explain what each bread was and which region of Canada it represented. I honestly didn’t listen because I was totally focused on the pretzel bread. That stuff is like crack to me, so good!

I did try the plain one which I think was sourdough but it was just OK compared to the pretzel bread. The waitress even brought me another piece when she saw me inhale the first. Probably not the best idea to eat two of those because I was getting full already when my steak came out. I ordered the Mushroom filet but subbed mashed potatoes for the mushroom risotto.

The steak was good this time. Definitely better than the last time but still not quite the perfection of the first trip. It was still a little too charred on the outside for me but I know some people like it that way. I only ate about ½ the potatoes because I had filled up on the pretzel bread but they were tasty. For dessert I went with the kids choice of Chocolate “Moose”.

This was very yummy although it seemed a bit smaller than the last time I had it.

I settled my bill and this is where I had the first problem with my Magic Band. Even though I had attached a Credit Card when I did online check-in it wasn’t showing as available for charging. No big deal, it still worked for my Dining Plan, I just had to pull out a credit card in order to pay for the tip.

So what was my conclusion? If the restaurant was a 1 credit I would not hesitate to go back. Love the pretzel bread and the dessert and my steak was good this time. But I’m not sure I will be back anytime soon since it’s 2 credits. It just doesn’t seem good enough to me to rate 2 credits.

I was getting very tired at this point and I hadn’t even been to my room yet so it was time to head out of the park. Oh, I don’t think I mentioned that I had received a text around 2 pm letting me know my room was ready. I had requested the Jazz section and that is where I was assigned so I was happy. One last picture of SE before I exited the park.

I have nothing in my notes about the buses so I’m guessing I caught one quickly and was back at All Star Music in no time. I stopped at the Concierge desk to find out about charging to my room. She said that sometimes the card doesn’t attach correctly and I should have stopped in when I got to the resort. Well that’s kind of odd since you are supposed to be able to bypass the front desk with online check-in.

I headed out to find my room, first passing the Calypso section which is preferred. I think this might be the only picture I took of that section all week but I could be wrong.

The Jazz section is next and I know I took more pictures of it later on. If anyone is curious I was in Building 9, room 9418 on the first floor.

I found my room easily and my Magic Band didn’t work. Ugh! I had brought three MB with me to wear throughout the week. My red one from the previous December, a Pluto one that I had purchased from the Disney Store and the Green one I had received for this trip. I never did wear the red one but I switched out the Pluto and green ones all week.

I was wearing the Pluto one at the time and it was not working at all to open my door. Luckily I had the foresight to bring the green one with me that day and it did work. I had to stop at the desk again the next day to get the Pluto one keyed to my room. So something else to keep in mind if you want to bring multiple MBs with you.

Once I was in the room, I immediately took some pictures.

As you can see I was given a King bed room which was fine by me. I spent some time unpacking and then decorated my window for Christmas. I didn’t take a picture that night but I did later in the week. I called it a night pretty early, I think around 10 pm because I was tired from getting up at 4 am and I had a very long day coming up.

I guess I wasn’t in pin trading mode yet because I only traded for one during this day.

The dessert has changed since 2009

I still can't get over that it is 2 ts meal.

Good to know about the magic bands. We have so many, plus 2 new ones for our upcoming stay.

So cool you had some meet ups with others at Epcot.

I have never been to Le Cellier. We have friends who love it but I agree it isn't worth 2 credits and we have been on the dining plan the last couple trips so it's a no go for us. Glad the meal was good tho.

Great pictures of the room. I stayed there once but I was too young to remember.

Dinner looks yummy... but as you said, definitely not worth 2 credits. It just seems like a good one TS credit meal you would get anywhere else on property. When we went to F&W we tried the Mushroom Risotto Filet. It was def good (I avoided the mushrooms, Brian loved them); but again, not THAT special. The cheddar soup everyone raves about? Tastes JUST like the potato cheese soup I have been making for 20 years!

The special Magic Bands...how do you get those??? Can I buy some like before our trip, and somehow have our reservations, fp's and tickets attached to them? I would love to do this as a surprise for my family before our trip!!

Nice room! ASMu was the very first resort we stayed at for our very first on property trip when we went in 2012! We had a family suite.

I too love those blue lights on SE, great pic!

Yay for a DIS-meet! And how funny to run into your college roomate's sister. Really is a small world.

Love that shot of the gardens you got, so pretty.

I'm glad your meal was better than the last time you were there!

Nice perk getting the king bed!

I agree that the gardens by Le Cellier are beautiful. We had been going to Disney for almost 30 years before we decided to explore that area. We finally discovered the gardens during our first Flower & Garden trip.

I see you have the Pluto MB. How do you like it? My daughter is thinking of buying it for her son for their next trip.

Loved seeing pictures of your meet up - I hadn't seen that one yet. :)

And your meal looks wonderful - I have never eaten there, to be honest - I have yet to find a 2 credit meal that's worth it.

Great job having the extra MBs with you.

Your room looks perfect for you - it's a good size for 1 or 2 people - it looks like. :scratchin Not sure how whole families fit in there though - esp with the short bathroom vanity - smaller mirror - we'd never make it out alive. LOL

D~

Your room is jazzy! LOL... Yeah i said that..

Awesome met ups! YAHOO!!! great pictures!!!!

Ooooh, you lucky duck!!! You got your framer picture your first day?! pluto: Not like I'm a crazy stalker, but that might be your very best Pluto pic yet! :) Also love the look on your face for your last hug with him. So cute!!

I'm not doing a TR for this trip with my Mom--it was such a shorty and we were off property. I actually have never done one. Thinking about starting a PTR for next December. We're renewing our wedding vows and staying for 11 days. THAT should be an awesome trip. However, I have no idea how to even get started. Any of my DIS friends have pointers for a newbie to TR writing??:mickeyjum

You got some great pictures in Epcot!

Fun meets with a DIS friend and an old surprise friend!

Le Cellier isn't even on my radar. It's not something that would interest 3 young boys (or would be appropriate to bring them to) and I agree that it doesn't seem like it's worth the price. But that pretzel bread does look amazing and now my mouth is watering thinking about a steak!

I'm sorry you ran into a few bumps with your bands but they seem easily fixed. And great luck with a King room!!
