Dh and I just discovered we are pregnant and due July 2004...we just booked a room at BCV for May, a trip with my brother...I will be in my 31st week...should I postpone this trip, since I am so early along and not sure what this pregnancy will be like for me since it is my first? We have a 2 hr flight from NJ...Or do you think it will be ok?

Any ideas would be much appreciated!:bounce:

I would hold off canceling, it willn't hurt to just leave it on hold for now. If you have a package, you will have to decide by 45 days prior.

Congratulations!

If your OB allows you to travel, GO!!!!

By the way, congratulations!

I would go. We just got back from our trip and I was 21 weeks pregnant at the time. We thought about cancelling it since I was so ridiculously sick 24 hours a day for almost 17 weeks, but I'm so glad we didn't. It was the first MNSSHP we've been to and that was great, plus it was our last trip to WDW without kids. We're going back in May and June with our infant daughter and I know that it will be a completely different experience. This really gave us the opportunity to spend time together, without work and school taking up most of each day, and focus on what we wanted to do, not what our kids want to do.

Thanks!
I don't have it in me to cancel, and it will be our last kidless trip! As far as I am concerned, if I get the o.k. then I am WDW-bound in may!
My DB is going with us, so at least DH will have someone to go on those rides I won't be able to go on. I am a Disney commando though, so that will be a different experience--actually taking it easy!!!!

Thanks again!

First, congratulations!!! My wife and I have two of our own, and don't regret it for a moment (OK, maybe just a FEW moments, but those times pass) :)

I would recommend that you do a few of things. Discuss the situation with your doctor, and maintain a running dialog as your pregnancy progresses. Even normal, healthy women can have pregnancies which are very physically demanding. Something as innocent as swollen feet or a sore back could (I emphasize COULD) put you on bedrest by 31 weeks, or at the very least make a WDW vacation nearly impossible.

While airlines won't prohibit travel at 31 weeks, most doctors you talk to and/or books that you read will recommend that you discontinue travel after the 2nd trimester. This isn't so much due to health reasons as it is to the level of discomfort that you are likely to experience at that point.

Lastly, educate yourself as to the cancellation provisions of your trip. Make sure you know the exact date on which you need to make a final decision.

Good luck to you.
