It seems to me that any time we're seeing one particular time becoming difficult to get anywhere it means that another time has become easier to get....barring flukes where a majority of members decided not to travel in a particular year and banked all their points, then all went to use double points in the following year....but then it would mean that one year would be super easy to book and the next would be rather difficult.

Or the developer points issue. Right now there seem to be a lot of developer points - and some people seem to suspect some creative point accounting is going on on the DVC side to support that.

We just booked the week of the Jan 12 on Sunday and we got 1 BR at BCV. We are traveling with 2 other parties and one also got a 1BR at BCV but the studio is at OKW.

No, just a better chance.

I was trying the first two weeks in January.
There was only Saratoga available, I guess I could have taken saratoga and waitlisted for onother resort...

When did you call? I called day by day right at the 7th month mark and got 3 nights in a Standard Studio at BWV and 2 nights in a Studio at VWL. No problem. My dates are Jan 4th-Jan 9th.

no, but if you start making reservations over 7 months in advance, then you are only competing with owners at your home resort for reservations. after the 7 month window opens, you are competing with all DVC members.
