I can't believe what they are talking about (vent)

Me too. I'd do a whole year of macaroni & cheese before I'd spend a week at WDW cooking crockpot chili. :)

You and Me both! I can't imagine... :teeth:

People actually cook crockpot chili? OMG! I've heard of everything now! :rotfl:

If you are going to quote me, quote the whole thing. I said I haven't seen posts about crockpots and fridges ON airplanes, but right after that I said that I don't read the posts that don't interest me.

I also don't want to cook on vacation and that's why I ignore those threads. Ignoring isn't hard, just don't click on it. If you hate reading about eating in the room, don't click on a post that asks about eating in the room. It's that simple.

Never said I HATED reading about eating in the room, if you are going to quote me, than get it right ;) back at ya!

I don't really think the OP was trying to bash the budget board. I know that wasn't my intention either. I took it to mean that some of the threads there are a bit over the top when it comes to saving money.

I've read some stuff over there but don't any more because, like I said, the idea of going through all those contortions to save a little money exhausts me. If some folks want to do it--more power to 'em, no skin off my nose.

Some posts remind me of my mom calling me to give me the updates on which gas station is selling gas for 2 cents cheaper. :teeth: She'll drive all over looking for the cheapest station--I prefer to just use one that's closer and save the gas driving all over. Doesn't mean Mom is wrong--I just don't want to do it myself.

I love the budget board. I have found so much info there, great deals, free movie tickets. The works. It is lot's of fun.

Many people go farther then others to save some money. All depends on how important it is to you. Some mom's give up working outside the house and bringing in a paycheck so some feel if they can't bring the $ in, at least they can work to save it. Besides the more kids you have the more eating out adds up (and sometimes they don't even eat the food you buy them.) I have never done crock pot chilly on vacation, but if that is what my kids wanted and it worked for us, then I might.

Personally I am not so into cooking while on vacation, but you do what works for you.

Oh and if you want a kicthen, join DVC!!!!!! (Or at least stay in a deluxe and get a fridge that way.)

I was just lurking on the budget Board and I just can't take it.......with all the cooking, crock potting, bringing refriderators on planes and lugging its no wonder they all need a vacation! I was tired just reading about it.

Thanks for letting me get that out!

C'mon now! On that one thread (which was a valid question) ONE person talked about the crockpot/refrigerator thing. Some people need to save a little bit of money by bringing some quick food. Other people (including myself) were trying to give valid hints on how you can have a snack/light meal or two in your room.

For the record I think it is ridiculous to cook an entire meal in your room for a variety of reasons. But certainly a sensible snack can't cause anybody that much distress.

Why come to another board to poke fun at others?

I love the budget board, it has some great tips. I do read the eating in the room type threads for amusement. Personally, I would rather save for another year than cook while on my vacation, but to each his own.

I completely understood your post and did not think it was bashing either. It is odd and funny as anything when you read some of those posts. No biggie.

I agree Cindy's Mom and I am quite a regular on the budget board. Sometimes though, you just have to go......sigh. The ones that have been getting to me over there are the theads that go on and on that you are such a loser/sinner/irresponsible member of society who has no right to a vacation if you have one speck of debt. Now, I don't think vacations are a "right" for anyone, but come on, what percentage of our population is in debt? If they all stayed home. WDW would go broke in a month!

Sorry, didn't mean to hijack your thread, just saying I can relate!!
