Well I have been reading a lot on the boards for a while so I guess it is my turn to have a planning journal.

First: How we met. DF and I met at our local gym where I was a member and he was a personal trainer. I had known of him for a long time and never really spoke with him Although, I think he did my initial training on the weights years ago. Well...I had been working with another personal trainer
:(/FONT] who was friends with DF. We started talking and became friends. I am an art teacher and everyyear we have a Huge art festival. I asked him to come help. Turns out that it was cancelled because of weather. That next week he called and asked me out and here we are!

Our Engagement: He had planned what he billed as the best date ever for Christmas Eve. We got up early and took a train to NYC(I live about 90 miles north of NYC). After our Starbucks, we walked to the park where he took me on a carriage ride around the park. It was a beautiful day weather wise so we were very lucky. After that, we had tickets for the Christmas Spectacular so walked downtown. Along the way we got to see the gorgeous storefronts. We also made a stop in StPatricks. He didnt want me to see the tree yet so as we walked past(on the crowded streets) I had to look away. We went to the show(my first time ever seeing it---Im Jewish so it wasnt important for my parents to bring us) and I loved it! After the show, we made our way back to the tree and got some pics taken. It was soooo crowded(unlike any other time I have been there---you could hardly walk). As we were leaving, DF stopped me and asked me to marry him. I was in shock! Right in the middle of the crowd....it was great. Right after that, we walked to Times Square and had dinner at the View which is the revolving restaurant at the top of the Mariott Marqius. It was a fabulous day.

Now on to wedding plans.

At first our discussions simply started with a destination wedding with just family. Then I suggested a Disney wedding to DF. He immediatly got excited. We decided within the day, he called the travel agent and got our vacation. I called DFTW and we got our date as August 23, 2007 at Sea Breeze Point. We are very excited.

Right now we are having 16 people, mainly my family, coming to Disney for the wedding. I have five nieces and nephews who are very excited. In fact, I just asked them to be bridesmaids and best men. The youngest will be the flower girl.

We are staying at Caribean Beach Resort for 8 days. We are getting there earlier than the rest of the family. We were hoping to be able to take that day and get our wedding liscence BUT we found out about doing that by mail. So now we have a day to relax and get the welcome bags together for the family(guests).

Its funny but Ive been only engaged for 21/2 months and seem to have a lot planned. We made our ADR last month. Our wedding dinner will be at Liberty Tree Tavern. We figured that it would be a great way to have characters at our dinner and be able to go to the park and see fireworks. We ate there last year and loved it. We will bring our cake but we are still hoping for the yummy apple dessert.

Ok...lots more to tell...but in another thread.:cool1:

soooo....things I have accomlished so far:

I got my wedding dress(unfortunatly can not show yet since I dont have enough posts). I went to David's with my mom, sister and 6year old niece a few weeks after our engagement. The first dress I tried on I loved. But I did try on more. That seemed to be my downfall. I ended up loving three dresses. I narrowed it to two. The made my descision based on getting married outside in August in Florida. I bought a beautiful tlength dress. I love it. I also got a crown and a veil. It was such a relief to have that choice out of the way. Of course, since we took pictures I was having buyers remorse. I almost got both, one for the Disney wedding and one for the reception back at home. But, I just took the shorter one. I will post pics as soon as I can and would love your input.

I have my wedding coordinator, Tanis. She seems very nice and right on top of things. She has gotten back to me very quickly everytime I call or email. I also have my wedding kit. We booked our officiant(the rabbi). I also keep in close contact with Rosie. DF and I chose the MK session for 5am the day after our wedding. soooooo excited for that!! :yay:

I am getting the roses bouquet with dark magic and red roses. Also inside I will have 10 hidden Mickeys. We are getting rose petals for the aisle and a basket for my 2 year old niece to carry.

I booked Lisa for my hair off of some previous threads I read but more recently I have been reading about how she doesnt do what some of you wanted. That worries me....a lot. I am having a trial run here at home and will take tons of pics so hopefully she will listen. :confused3

Ok heres some more I have done:

We are having a reception at home in October. So for that, we booked our restaurant, our DJ(a friend from work who is awesome), last weekend we ordered our cake. That was sooooooo much fun. We got to taste four cakes. YUMMY! The woman who helped us was so great too. We got to basically design our own cake. We wanted Mickey's on our cake so we are getting white fondant then little black mickey heads all over. On the bottom of each tier will also be a red ribbon. I am so excited.

I am going to wear my dress to the reception so I dont have to worry aobut getting a new one. My DF bought a suit which he will wear to Disney and the reception.

Right now, we are thinking of wording on our invitations. We are inviting 120 people. But i have a big problem, as I am a teacher and have contact and am friend with a lot of people at work I am finding it hard to keep my numbers down. I have but we have a huge B list....which I am really hoping to be able to tap into. :confused3

We will have CDs as favors, and hopefully can find something down in Disney to put on tables for favors. We are also going to name the tables after disney characters. DF and I have also decided to make our own centerpieces. We are not commited to anything yet(but get lots of ideas here). WE are thinking tons of tea lights, some kind of floating candles and flowers. Still working on that.

For Disney, I have worked out a design that will be used on t-shirts for all the guests and for cloth bags which I will put all of their welcome stuff in. For the shirts, I was thinking of using the design but having each family(there will be 6)shirt be a different color with their name on the back.

Ok...more later...Ive rambled enough!!

I love it.

I still need help getting those photos up...anyone have any advice?

I also just saw some cute flower ideas for my nieces. I didnt like the wand option at first but I just saw a three rose wand....I really like that. Its not too big. Still waiting on Rosie to email me back on that one.

Last night, we wrote out our invitations. So now all we have to do is order them.

Thats it for now...until I can get photos up! ;)

It does! And you look beautiful! I love the dress you picked -- I had looked at it for months on the website and then ultimately decided against it, but I would LOVE to get something like that for the VR that I'm planning in my head (and DF doesn't know about yet!).

Congratulations and I love all the dresses. You will love getting married at SBP, what time is your ceremony?

Thank you so much!
Our ceremony is at 2:30pm. We only had three time slots to choose from 10am....tooo early for me...12:30...didnt think we could fill the time in between the ceremony and dinner. So we decided on 2:30. I know it will be hot but who cares...its Disney, its my wedding! Im so excited.

Yipppeee I finally figured it out!!! I love my dress...I did, however, have some buyers remorse thinking I should have bought the pink one but I just keep thinking of how hot it would be. I dont want to passout!

Hi...its been quite a while since I have been online to update. Well...today I went with my sister and her two daughters(one will be a bridesmaid and the younger one is the flower girl) to search for dresses for the girls.

Originally, I had wanted something simple---ivory with a red sash to match the flowers. But, when we started looking we found a dress that was similar to mine. The bridesmaids(Alice 6 and Marissa 10--not pictured)will wear the dress similar to mine. It is soo cute...we look lilke twins. I even told Alice that I will have to be careful or Paul(DF)will marry her!

Ella(the flower girl) will wear the dress with ivory on top and the red bottom! Sooooo cute.
