Grand Adventures in Cooking - DS's decorated cookie:
Okay - not really a food review, but it's food and it was so cute I couldn't resist
Now on to actual foodstuffs:
Earl of Sandwich DTD
The Original Sandwich: roast beef, cheddar cheese and extra horseradish cream:
This is my favorite here - DH and I tend to order a sandwich and salad and split them when we come here. This was great as usual. The bread is excellent, the roast beef was tender and medium to medium rare and the cheese and sauce added to it to make it even better.
The Cobb - roast turkey, bacon, swiss cheese, cranberries, tomato and cucumbers over mixed greens in buttermilk ranch:
The salads are made to order - I forgot to ask for no cranberries, but they were not bad with it. The dressing is great and the turkey and cheese are in one inch chunks with lots of flavor.
Dessert - Cupcake tops:
It's cake, buttercream, and sprinkles. YUM!!
For drinks we had rootbeer and diet coke. DS wasn't hungry as he had eaten lots of cookies and had a huge breakfast in the room of fruit and cereal so he picked out the cucumbers from the salad and ate some of the sandwich with no horseradish on it. We packed the cupcakes for later.
This is a CS place with great food and WAY marginal service. You order your sandwich or salad at a cash register. And God forbid you ask what is included with a CS meal. I realize he had to repeat this over and over, but he was rude and zipped through it so fast that when I was looking at the other people in line with me, one of them said, "I am so clueless...what did he say???" I asked a manager what was included while my salad was being made (by a very nice person, I should add) and he told me something different.
Basically - you get a salad or sandwich, a dessert OR side item, and a fountain drink.
Confusing, chaotic, and irritating. But still...great food.
