An american firefighter died yesterday. His name was John McNamara. He worked for FDNY. He died of cancer from working at Ground Zero after the Trade Centers were hit. They were told the air was safe to breathe, but many of the firefighters and other peple that lived, worked, or were volenteering in NYC, have gotten cancer from this. Before he died he was working to have a bill passed to get health care for illnesses caused by 9/11 toxic exposures.
My family new him personnaly, he was a very close friend of ours. He was a great man and like a second father to me. He left his wife and 2year old son behind. He battled his cancer untill the very end. I wanted to get more awareness out there about this bill. And keep striving for his goal.
there is a video where he talks about the bill and his cancer:

this is what he looked like prior to his cancer:
i know i haven't been on here in a while but, i think this is something everyone should be made aware of. our nation's heros are dying because they were trying to help in a time of need. i'm just attempting to spread the word. i'm not one to ask for prayers normally, but please send your prayers out to his family and other loved ones.
