In the midst of the awful, horrible, no good, very bad day I was having, my dad called me and told me aunt has lung cancer. This is his closest sister who their plans for retirement were so awesome. I can't imagine the pain he is going through right now as well as the pain that the rest of his sisters and brother (if they were able to reach him) are going through. She has been sick off and on for at least 25 years - once having a breast cancer scare (I was pretty young so I don't really remember this that much) and a few years ago being diagnosed with emphasema (sp? and having half her lung taken out because of a mass that showed on there but supposedly wasn't cancerous. Ever since my grandma passed away 3 years ago, my aunt has been sick (and that was about the time they ended up removing half of this lung) she automatically went into the mode that she was going to die just like her. It was killing alot of us but her kids have been strong and really been "troopers" so to speak. Then when my mom passed away 6 months ago, she started in with the feeling that perhaps this was what was going to happen to her also although no diagnosis had been done, she was on full-time oxygen, etc.
So, looks like it starts again. They are going to probably need to sell their house because it's two stories and she's already having a hard time getting up the stairs. My uncle was just in the mode of getting prepared for retirement this summer so they could move to where they want to be when my dad retires in a few years. I am so close with this part of my family that it's almost like losing my mom again - my aunt has been such a huge part of my life! Fortunately we had plans to be out there for Christmas this year, don't know if those plans will be moved up to July now.
If you could spare some - I could use some PD and prayers for my family! Thanks
