I can't believe I'm still in MA!

Well if you look at my trip counter it says that I'm in Disney right now. Well I'm sitting at my computer in MA about 1300 miles away. My family happened to be four of the 30,000 people stranded by Comair this weekend. Did I mention I now hate Comair! We got to the airport at 10:45am for our 12:30pm flight and guess what, it was cancelled. I wanted to cry. Delta had us there for two hours waiting in lines to get new tickets which are now for Monday and of course it is snowing here, only the third day of snow for us all season and it has to come today. I think I'll lose it if I get to the airport tomorrow and find out we've been bumped again. I keep checking flight status and so far so good, I've got my fingers crossed. Disney reservations were wonderful about changing our ressies by two days and allowing us to keep our original rate, I have to send an email thanking them and the cm who helped me change the hotel stay plus alot of ps's we had booked. We still don't know if we have a rental car, they said they would note our account but that is all they could do. Oh well, will take a cab if necessay. I heard the weather hasn't been that great this weekend in Disney, so maybe this is all a blessing in disguise. We did get to have Christmas dinner with the inlaws instead of an airport so that's good thing right? Wish us luck and I hope I don't get the opportunity to post again until Jan 3. :wave:
 
I am so sorry...how devastating. saw a small boy on tv last night crying because he was suppossed to be in WDW for xmas. What a disaster. Sure hope you guys get there on Monday.

As bad as it is for you and your family, I rather you be safe and sound. I know it sucks :( But being safe would be the number one priority for me :) Good luck and I hope your trip works out!
 
Sorry for you. Hope you get there safe and sound. What happened with the other airline?

The cost of round trip town car is only a little bit more than most cabs. They can also provide a grocery stop for free. They are very reliable and will meet you at the baggage claim and help you with your stuff. Since you're staying at the Boardwalk, you won't need a rental car. I'd hate for you to have to hassle with the rental car counters and then get stuck finding a cab.

You will love staying in the Epcot area! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the weather will cooperate. I'd keep checking your flight, and if it is cancelled call ASAP. Since you were already bumped once, I'd think they would try to make sure you get out on Monday.
 
Thanks guys, I'm holding my breath on this one. We have this crazy snow storm that's hugging the coast, unfortunately Logan airport is on the coast. We have a connection in Atlanta which I'm nervous we'll miss. Oh well, what can you do. At least Delta will put us up in Atlanta if we miss our connection.

Comair says that they had a computer glich, quite a big one since they cancelled 1100 flights according to the news. They're not expected to become fully operational until Wednesday. I will be more careful in the future and not try to save a few bucks by flying a connection carrier of a larger airline. I thought I was flying Delta and didn't realize I was flying Comair until the day before the trip when I checked the itinerary.
 
Wow, it's wonderful that all your reservations could be switched around!!
I hope you get there soon.......but it's true, better safe than sorry, right? LOL

After tomorrow morning, I hope we don't hear from you again until you RETURN. Good luck with the snow. We have more trouble with the cold temps than the snow up here in Minnesota.
 
What a bummer!! But you know what - the weather here this weekend has been terrible - cold, rainy, windy damp - blah! Hopefully this was a blessing in disguise for you because the weather is supposed to get nicer starting tomorrow. Good news also that Disney was accomodating about your schedule changes.

You need to be flying on Song. It rocks. Being snowed in at Logan stinks though, and my brother was stuck on his plane today there for over 3 hours (last I heard). Good luck getting down there, and know that we can't do anything about the weather... :guilty:
 
I'm really sorry that you had a delay. I'm kind of ticked off with Comair. Delta owns them, and my dh works for Delta. At the Cincinnati Airport on Christmas Day, Comair had over 3,000 pieces of luggage in a Delta hangar, and was supposed to send over Comair workers to help Delta because of all the back up due to the weather. Cincinnati had run out of deicer one night, and had to stop everything until they got more in the next day. So, everything was backed up, and then Comair decided to shut down for the weekend. Well, instead of sending over workers to help the Delta employees, they had a big old Christmas party! So, dh got stuck working through breaks and lunch, came home Christmas night and was exhausted. So, while I'm thankful for your safety, I think Comair stinks!!! Keeping my fingers crossed that the weather will let up so you can make it down Monday.
 
Hello,

My flight still scheduled to be on time, I check it every 15 minutes. I don't know what I'll do if I check and it's cancelled. The last day we could possibly fly out would be tomorrow because of school and work. We got over a foot of snow here overnight. There's lots of cancellations at Logan airport, but it seems worse if you were to fly into Boston than out.

Oh man...let's hope Logan gets another runway open for you guys. The snow is just about stopped here in Central Ma so maybe you might get a break. I hope you get there!!! Good luck.
 
good news for ya the weather down here is supposed to be delightful!!

we live just north of Orlando, and it was a shilly start for today but it supposed to warm up nicely.

oh and we used to live in Massachusetts as well, I had it up to here with snow and cold!! so we moved closer to the mouse, now if I could only earn more money I could live IN Disney that would be sweet ;)
