I Can't Believe I Invited My MIL -I'm BAAACK! And determiend to finish this thing!

I know, I know. I am falling back into my old slacker patterns.
Why yes, yes you are.

But the holidays slowed my roll. And now we are MOVING. For the third time. In about 16 months. And while we should be professionals by now, this time we are NOT using a moving company in order to save some dough (so we can spend it at WDW in March!) and YOU try packing with a 9 month old up your butt and tell me how much time YOU have left over for the DIS.
I don't even WANT to imagine that one. You are so forgiven.

DD got to spend quite awhile talking to a recylcing bin, which was super. At some point, after their 15 minute conversation (and she was 3, remember), I said,
"Ok, honey, hug the trash can goodbye..."

To which the saucy little receptacle replied,

"Ma'am, I'm a recycling bin. Hugging a trash can would be weird."

Now wait a minute...it's all garbage to us, no matter if the material ends up in a trash heap or a recycling center. And the inside of those cans are going to be equally nasty in either case. I think that trash can (sorry -- recycling bin) is a little sensitive about his job. And the fact that there is little difference between the two.

You should have responded: "Don't call me 'ma'am.' Call me 'Miss.'"

Thanks for the update! Only four more months until the next one...

I think AK always feels crowded because everyone is wandering around slightly disoriented, just like me.

I get so turned around in that park and DHS. I need a gps just to make it out of there.

Yeah, and also am I wrong, or does that park dead-end a lot? It's like this:

Oh, how fun! We're walking! We're walking! Isn't this beautiful? AIn't life grand? Ain't life... ! Wait a tick, why are we staring at a blank wall? Where do we go now? What do we do? I guess we'll just turn around and look at all that great stuff we just saw again...

Why yes, yes you are.

4 more months!! Oh, ain't she a hoot!?? Don't we all just love that zany Hucifer? So funny. <grits teeth> So. Freakin. Funny.

JK, my friend. You truly ARE funny. And I truly AM slow. I really like to make my minions, oops I mean, my READERS, wait for it. Letting the anticipation build is really the key to my success. I think. Either that or the turd stories. I am not sure which at this time.

I think because everyone gets there early, it is crowded early and thins out later in the day. Plus the walkways are more like big paths...not much space.....

Yes, locally. But it will be our 3rd move just since moving to TX. Craziness. Basically, the story goes like this.

1. We bought a house in the sticks and did not like living there. We put said house up for sale and it sold wayy faster than we imagined and we had to be out ASAP.

2. We wanted to build a house, so we rented a house (where we are right this very second) while building.

3. We finally move into the house we had built tomorrow.

I will live there until they carry out my mummified corpse.

The end.

Thanks for the Cliffs notes version. :)

Glad to see you're back!!!

Good luck with the move! Ugh! Can't imagine. I've moved with a 3 mth old and a 3 yr old (same kid, different moves lol). I'm thinking you've got me beat.

Can't imagine.

AK is nuts. I hate that you can't loop back to places. I hate that it feels sweltering and closed in even in January! Not my favorite park by far.

BUT I love AKL.

So maybe I'm nuts?

:rotfl:

I'll be expecting another update now, before I leave. Chop chop!

:lmao:

Are you down with OCD? Yeah, you know me!

Part of the fun of the WDW vacay for me is in the planning. Specifically, I like to have organized binders and notebooks. I have had a binder full of info since I planned this mutha of a vacation back in February. But I have been forcing myself to delay the wonderful gratification that is the PLANNING NOTEBOOK until I was at lmost 30 days out.

We leave in 20 days!!! :woohoo:

My planning notebook is more or less complete!!! I will be double checking a few things, updating packing lists based on weather forecasts, etc., but basically this bad boy is ready to get carefully placed into my baggallini and begin its long nap amongst the ponchos, pepto tablets, and glow sticks in preparation for the BIG DAY.

Here is a picture of the cover....

As you can see, I admire simple design. Really, I do. I am not a huge lover of cluttered surfaces, stickers, cute lettering and the like. Now, I love these things on other peoples binder, notebooks what have you. But for me, it is a less is more kind of thing. That's just how I roll.

OK, so basically this little book of goodness and sacred knowledge is about 5" tall (oh so portable!)...with a plastic cover (THE PRINCESS chose reddish pink). IT has four color coded sections, which you can see when you turn the book to the side. I used each section for one park, which is kind of a no-brainer but I did not give IQ tests to my readers prior to allowing them to sub, so who knows how many of you will figure that out on your own? I took about 10 pages in the last section (AK, as luck may have it) and I am using that for "Miscellaneous." This is where one can find info on the resort, check-in, and DTD. Well, I say that is where "one" could find info, but we all know darn well that mine will be the only fingers touching this book. Heaven help Donald, MIL, or the kids if they try to get their grubby mitts on my book.

OK, so each park section breaks donw like this:
1. - park hours, ADRs, parade/show times, etc. - the basics
2. - speical goals for that day (get a Dole Whip, ride Buzz, etc.)
3. - blank - for character times/show times from the board that day
4. - a mpa of the park with numbers over the attractions we will be htting that day, in proper order thankyouverymuch
5. - the day's touring plan, copied and pasted
6. - a list of fast pass attractions in that park
7. - a list of snack credit option for that parl
8. - a bunch of blank pages...for more crucial info that I am sure I will need.....
9. - a bunch of blank pages to journal each day's activities for the sake of my extremely humorous and interesting TRIP REPORT to be completed when I return.....

A few more pics....

my fingers are blocking my ADR time, but also give a good perpective on size...

I put quite a few more pics on photobucket, but many of them show my touring plans, and I don't want to get in trouble with the Touring Plan people, so perhaps I should keep those to myself. :rolleyes1

So there you have it. Simple. Easy to use. Just a little piece of wonderful.

Did I mention yet that we leave in 20 days??????:yay: :yay: :woohoo:

Ok, I have to have one of these now and it's too late to go out to the store. :upsidedow

I have big notebooks, and a passporter book and index cards (not in any order... just yet) :lmao: but I love the 5'' notebook idea the best.

Time to convert everything over. :yay:

You see, it doesn't matter if it's about turds or Disney -- it's ALL good.

And yes, anticipation is key. I'm down with that.

We're moved into our new house!! Yipee!! And the best part is: the Uverse guy came on friday and now I can connect to the internet using something other than my phone for the first time in a week!

Look for an update soon!

We interrupt this trip report from 2007 to talk about our upcoming 2010 trip...

I can't believe how close our Disney trip is getting. I guess one of the best things about staying so crazy busy is that I don't have time to feel the agony of waiting on my Disney trip to get here already. Between PTA stuff, Girl Scout leader stuff (it is cookie time - ugh), dealing with Baby Paige AND moving, this trip is really sneaking up on me. I mean, I have barely considered important things such as:

What we will wear...
What we'll put on our feet...
Where we'll eat...
WHat bag I'll bring....
WHat time the parades and shows are....

I mean, I feel like a big fat Disney failure right now.

Help.

Finishing two-year-old trip reports...

Wait, was this your update? Cuz when you said "update" I thought you meant to the actual trip report from 2007.

Crazy, I know.

Huci, come on. Cut me some slack and be happy with what you get! ;)

JK.

Seriously, though, after I post some pics of our day at AK (need to unpack and hook up the desktop first) and wrap up the story of our drive home, this TR is ov-ah. Do you really want to see it end? I don't. Then you all will go away and not pay me any attention anymore. I can't face that. So, I will drag it out a bit longer. Sorry. In fact, I am not even going to start a TR for the upcomg trip.... I am just going to add onto this one forever and ever and ever.

Try and stop me.

Okay, I can relate with that. It is, after all, YOUR time in the spotlight.
